Abstract

This study aims to analyze the effect of exchange rates, inflation, JCI and the number of Islamic mutual funds on the Net Asset Value of Islamic Mutual Funds (NABRS) in Indonesia. Net Asset Value is one indicator of the results of the mutual fund portfolio. The data used is monthly time series data from January 2010 to February 2018. The data source for NABRS is from the publication of the Financial Services Authority (OJK). The results of the regression analysis show that the exchange rate, inflation, JCI and the number of Islamic mutual funds have a significant influence on NABRS. Exchange rates have a negative effect, inflation has a positive influence, JCI has a positive influence and the number of Islamic mutual funds has a positive influence on NABRS. This shows that the exchange rate, inflation, JCI and the number of Islamic mutual funds can be used as consideration by investors in investing in Islamic mutual funds.Keywords:  Exchange Rate, Inflation, JCI, Number of Islamic Mutual Funds, Islamic Mutual Fund NABs

Abstract

This article aims to analyze the performance of regional financial management and its influence on poverty levels in Magelang Regency in the period 2015-2018. The research methodology used is quantitative descriptive analysis and linear regression analysis related to the ratio of regional finances and the percentage of poverty using secondary data from BPPKAD Magelang Regency and BPS Magelang Regency. The results showed that the performance appraisal of Magelang Regency is 1) low independence ratio, 2) poor capability ratio, 3) the harmony of expenditures ratio is still not compatible, 4) effective financial effectiveness ratio, 5) inefficient financial efficiency ratio, 6) low financial growth ratio. And the performance of regional financial management in Magelang Regency by calculation using financial ratios has no significant effect on poverty levels in Magelang Regency.Keywords: Ratio, Performance, Government, Poverty

Abstract

Climate change impacts the tourism sector and affects the economic sector. With climate change, the number of tourist arrivals declined. It also affects the economic sector, especially gross domestic product and per capita income, which is impacted due to a decline in tourism demand. The study aimed to determine the impact of climate change in temperature and rainfall, gross domestic product, and per capita income on the number of tourist arrivals in 10 ASEAN countries in 2005 - 2019 variables. The research method used was panel data analysis with Random Effect Model (REM). This model was chosen as the best model based on the test results in the panel data. This study is a quantitative study with a times series of 2005-2019 and a cross-section of Ten ASEAN Countries. The results of this study indicate that the temperature variable positively affected the number of tourist arrivals. In contrast, the rainfall variable negatively affected the number of tourist arrivals, and gross domestic product and income per capita variables positively affected the number of tourist arrivals. Keywords: Climate Change, Income per capita, Gross domestic product, Random Effect Model

Abstract

This study aims to: 1) determine the characteristics of pedicab drivers in Solo, 2) find out the economic adaptation strategies undertaken by pedicab drivers in Solo. The data processed in this study are primary data obtained by the author through the distribution of questionnaires, interviews and direct observations of respondents pedicab drivers in Solo. The analysis technique used is univariate analysis, bivariate analysis and descriptive analysis. The results showed that: 1) the characteristics of age, level of education and address of respondents had a statistically significant effect on the decision of the respondents to have a side jobs, while the characteristics of the number of dependents and average income per month had an insignificant effect on the decision of the respondents to have a side jobs, 2) the economic adaptation strategies that is done by pedicab drivers in Solo is by having a part-time job beside pulling a pedicabs, besides that they make savings and there are family members who are already working who can help meet their daily needs. Keywords: Modernization; Pedicab; Economic Adaptation Strategy

Abstract

This research is to find out whether there is a digital payment that the possibility of student consumption will be increasingly wasteful or become more efficient and choose to save money. The respondents of this study are active students of Sebelas Maret University and have used digital payments in transactions. The number of samples taken in this study were 100 respondents. This research analysis technique uses quantitative methods using logistic regression. The variable used in the study is the probability of consumption as the dependent variable. Monthly income, issued using monthly digital payments, the amount of money saved per month, gender, age, and level of education as independent variables. The results of this study are Sebelas Maret University students in using digital payments will be more consumptive, and significant variables on consumption expenditure are expenses, expenses, and gender in using digital payments. Keywords: Consumptive, Use Of Digital Payments, Logistic Regression, Students, Saving.

Abstract

The purpose of this study was to analyze the effects of GRDP, regency/city (regional) minimum wage, the number of hotels and restaurants, and the number of tourist attractions on the labor absorption in the trade, restaurant, and accommodation sectors. Bali was selected due to its potential for cultural diversity and tourist attractions. This quantitative study used panel data with nine regencies/cities in Bali Province in 2013-2017. The best model applied in this study was the Fixed Effect Model. The results of the analysis show that all independent variables had simultaneous effects on the given variables. The results of the partial analysis confirmed that GRDP had a significant negative effect, regency/city minimum wage, and the number of hotels and restaurants had a significant positive effect, while the number of tourist attractions did not produce any effects on labor absorption. Abstract

Salatiga City is one of the cities in Jawa Tengah that has revitalized all traditional markets. The research objective was to analyze the comparison of the efficiency level of traditional markets in Salatiga. The quantitative research method with the analytical tool used is the Data Envelopment Analysis model of Charnes, Cooper, and Rhodes (CCR).  The research object is eight traditional markets in Salatiga City. The dependent variable of this research is the efficiency value of traditional markets in the City of Salatiga. The independent variables in this study include two variables, namely the input and output variables. Research findings when data collection is that the two UPTDs as market managers have different categories of managed market management.  The results of the study were that the eight markets had different results. The results of four markets are efficiency, two markets have inefficiency results, and two markets cannot be analyzed. Research suggestion is to achieve efficiency in traditional markets that are not efficient can be achieved when referring to market value efficiency.Keywords: Data Envelopment Analysis (DEA), CCR models, Traditional market

Abstract

Rural development is an effort to optimally utilize all potential resources to achieve village growth and improve the welfare of rural communities. The direction of the village development policy was then reborn marked by the birth of a law that regulating villages (UU 6/2014). The rural area development program is one of the mandates of the law on villages and makes a difference between the previous village development. The purpose of this research is to identify the characteristics of rural area development program. This research was conducted with a deductive approach and qualitative research methods. Data collection was carried out through institutional surveys and field observations. Data analysis was performed using content analysis and triangulation strategy. The research results show that the rural area development program is included in the development strategy of rural-urban linkages with the characteristics of the target village of the program being a developing village with good accessibility to cities, the availability of adequate infrastructure, and there are production-distribution network and economic exchange from rural to cities. The characteristics of program delivery are a combination of top-down and bottom-up approaches with multi-stakeholder participation and cross-stakeholder institutions with local institutions as the main implementers. Keywords: Rural areas, Regional development, Program implementation

Abstract

Gender equality and employment opportunities provide a great opportunity for women to enter the labor market. This study aims to analyze the factors that influence the decision of married women to work in Banyuputih Village, Jepara Regency. Banyuputih village was chosen as a research location because of the existence of a manufacturing industry that was able to boost the village's economy. The number of samples used in the study were 100 respondents in accordance with the objectives of the study. The independent variables used are the level of education, husband's income and the number of children under five. Data analysis was performed using Binary Logistic Regression because the dependent variable was in the form of dummy. The analysis showed that the level of education had a positive and significant effect, while the husband's income variable and the number of children under five had a negative and significant effect on the decision of married women to work in Banyuputih Village. Keywords: decision; level of education; husband’s income; the number of children under five

Abstract

This paper surveys the relationship between environmental capital and political capital among countries in Southeast Asia using holistic perspective. Holistic theories emphasize that the whole is not only greater than the sum of the parts, but that the parts are related in such way that their functioning is conditioned by their relationship. Holistic perspective is being supported by the ecological footprint data as environmental capital among countries in Southeast Asia. Then, this paper uses political capital among countries in that region. Political capital can be derived into some political indicators such as political rights and civil liberties. Next, the paper examines the pattern relationship between these variables environmental capital and political capital in Southeast Asia. Change in these forms of capital represent “institutional relationship” among countries in Southeast Asia. By accomplishing the concept “institutional relationship”, this paper can explain various responses among countries in Southeast Asia for responding uncertainty condition around those capitals.Keywords: Southeast Asia, Environmental Capital, Political Capital, Holistic Perspective
