Jurnal Studi Ilmu Komunikasi (JSIKOM) adalah jurnal open access yang diterbitkan oleh Prodi Ilmu Komunikasi FISIP Universitas Islam Negeri Raden Fatah Palembang terbit 3 kali dalam setahun pada bulan Januari, Mei dan September. Tujuan utama jurnal ini adalah untuk mempublikasikan dan menyebarluaskan di lapangan pemahaman terkini tentang berbagai wacana sosial dan politik kontemporer dengan makalah penelitian asli, terutama yang berkaitan dengan masalah: Komunikasi sosial Komunikasi organisasional Komunikasi bisnis Komunikasi interpersonal Pemikiran dan etika Komunikasi Komunikasi dan identitas gender Pembangunan Kesejahteraan Masyarakat dan Sosial Masyarakat digital dan disrupsi Politik komunikasi dan media Komunikasi dan budaya Cyber society Jadi, sebelum mengirimkan naskah, penulis harus memastikan bahwa naskah telah mengikuti pedoman umum, ruang lingkup dan fokus JSIKOM dengan ditulis dalam bahasa Indonesia. Frekuensi Publikasi Jurnal Ilmu Komunikasi terbit tiga kali dalam setahun pada bulan Januari, Mei, September dalam versi elektronik. Abstract

This study contains the analysis of the lyrics of the song “Pasar Ini Has Disnah” which was popularized by Tropical Forests, analyzed using a qualitative method, with a technical approach to Ferdinand De Sausure's semiotic study seen from the signifier and the signified. Data collection techniques are observation, documentation, interviews, literature searches and online. In this study the researchers took 5 stanzas of the song. The song contains a very deep message that the songwriter wants to convey. The lyrics of the song Pasar Ini Has Musnah contain the meaning of criticism, where the songwriter wants to express his deep concern and show an empathy for a condition that is being felt over a problem that exists in Pasar Cinde. In addition, the songwriter also invites the public or listeners to be more open-minded and can be more concerned with the history that exists in the motherland. Music can act as a medium to convey an aspiration, to carry out the function of communication, musicians can see reality and issue social criticisms that are deemed necessary through the songs they compose such as what Jemmie Delvian did in the song “this market has been destroyed”.

Abstract

This study entitled "Persuasive Communication Between Counselors and PLHIV in VCT Services at Puskesmas Dempo Palembang".Puskesmas Dempo is one of the health centers in the city of Palembang that provides VCT (Voluntary Counselling and Testing) services for people living with HIV. VCT (Voluntary Counselling and Testing) plays a role in the prevention and treatment of HIV/AIDS clients. VCT (Voluntary Counselling and Testing) activities are carried out to provide information and thoughts by a counselor to the counselee or patient to inform, change attitudes and exchange opinions for a better direction. The purpose of this research is to find out how the implementation of interpersonal communication that occurs between the counselor at Pusekesmas Dempo and PLHIV. And what obstacles are faced by counselors when counseling with patients. The research method used is descriptive qualitative. Sources of primary data by interviewing counselors and counselor assistants at Puskesmas Dempo Palembang and four people living with HIV (PLHIV). Secondary data sources are in the form of documents from the Dempo Palembang Health Center, books, journals, photos, and voice recordings. The theory used is the theory of social penetration where there is a process of openness and intimacy of a person in establishing relationships with other people through certain stages. The result of this study is that the communication that occurs between the counselor and PLWV goes well and effectively where the patient feels comfortable to share information about himself, take medication, and counsel regularly. And counselors also provide encouragement and motivation for the development of patients who are detected with HIV so that they do not give up in living life and can change their lifestyle towards a healthier one.

Abstract

Culture and tradition are two things that cannot be separated, In a tradition or custom there is usually a process that we ourselves do not know what the purpose and meaning of the process is if we look at it clearly, but if we look deeper there are many meanings that are hidden behind the symbols. the resulting symbol. The symbol or symbol is something that is used to designate something else, based on the agreement of a group of people, customs or traditions are generally found in the life cycle of a human being, starting from the birth process, to adulthood, marriage, then when the person dies, as for the process What is very important in a person's life cycle is getting married, why marriage is so important for someone, because by getting married, the lineage will continue so that later generations can continue the traditions and culture that existed before. This study discusses the meaning behind the areca nut and other handovers in the marriage process in the tradition of the Sungai Pinang village community. The research was conducted in Sungai Pinang Village, Ogan Ilir Regency. The theory used in this research is the theory of Semiotics model of Charles Sanders Pierce. The type of research used is descriptive with a qualitative approach. Data collection techniques using instruments in the form of Observation, Interview and Documentation of informants The results of this study indicate that the handovers given by the groom to the bride is evidence of seriousness and is ready to bear life both physically and mentally. Abstract

This study discusses / examines the pattern of communication interactions between Pagar Alam souvenir entrepreneurs and local tourists. by raising the problem of how the pattern of communication interaction between Pagar Alam souvenir entrepreneurs and local tourists. The purpose of this study was to determine the pattern of communication interaction between Pagar Alam souvenir entrepreneurs and local tourists. The methodology used is descriptive qualitative research with the presentation of data analyzed in depth using secondary data, primary data, observation, interviews, documentation, using the symbolic interaction theory of Herbert Blummer used in this study. The results showed that the communication carried out by Pagar Alam souvenir entrepreneurs with local tourists used verbal communication and nonverbal communication, but not too much use of non-verbal communication, the more important role here is verbal communication itself. Verbal communication carried out by store employees is question and answer communication, where when the buyer asks the employee will answer and will ask more questions to get what information the buyer wants so that the employee can give the best to the buyer. Abstract

On May 6, 2021, the announcement of the Tes Wawasan Kebangsaan (TWK) results for employees of the Komisi Pemberantasan Korupsi (KPK) generated mixed reactions in the community, as 75 employees of the anti-corruption institution were declared not to be to have passed the TWK. Several prominent figures were holding large mattresses among the 75 names of employees who did not pass. This study examines two Indonesian online news portals, Kompas.com and Antaranews.com. This study aims to examine how the media frames and compares the results of the TWK of KPK employees. This study takes a qualitative approach, collecting data through observation and conducting a literature review using Robert N. Entman's framing analysis model. The purpose of this research is to write a news article about the controversy surrounding the TWK results for KPK employees for the period June 17–18, 2021. The findings of this study demonstrate that there are differences in how the online news portals Kompas.com and Antaranews.com frame the news regarding the polemics surrounding the National Insight Test results for KPK employees. Kompas.com frequently frames news negatively, implying that the KPK will manipulate and wash their hands of the TWK case. Meanwhile, Antaranews.com developed the framing as KPK clarification news, i.e., a guarantee regarding the originator of the TWK concept. Abstract

The Covid-19 case in Indonesia has caused many people to be laid off. President Joko Widodo launched the Pre-Employment Card Program as a step to help the unemployed and the people affected by Covid-19 which has caught the public's attention. The online media Kompas.com and Tribunnes.com are some of the media that report the case of the Pre-Employment Card program with the characteristics of their respective media, and do not escape their ideology. Both online media have many readers and are in the top 4 of the 10 most accessed news websites in Indonesia on the world website Alexa.com. The purpose of this study was to find out how the syntactic, script, thematic and rhetorical structure of Zhondang Pan and Kosicki's framing analysis of the news frame of government policies related to the Pre-Employment Card as the impact of Covid-19 on the online media Kompas.com and Tribunnews.com. The method used in this research is a qualitative descriptive approach. The technique of collecting data with documentation is through written archives from the media Kompas.com and Tribunnews.com. The researcher uses Zhondang Pan and Kosicki's theory of framing analysis with syntactic, script, thematic and rhetorical devices. Based on the results of the analysis, Kompas.com clearly shows that this media is more directed towards parties that are opposite or contra with the government, in other words, they do not agree with the Pre-Employment Card program. Meanwhile, Tribunnews.com implicitly gives a point of view of siding with the government or supporting the Pre-Employment Card program.

Abstract

The family has a very big role in influencing the lives and behavior of children. The position and function of the family is fundamental, because the family is the first place for the formation of character and morals for children. Parents are people who are older or older people. Because parents are the center of a child's spiritual life, every child's emotional reactions and thoughts in the future are the result of the teachings of their parents. So that parents play an important and very influential role in the formation of children's character. The purpose of this study is to determine the interpersonal communication of parents in the participation of positive character formation in their children in Islamic boarding schools. The theory used in this research is the theory of family relationship schemes proposed by Fitzpatrick. This research method is descriptive qualitative research method, data collection techniques using observation, interviews, and documentation. Abstract

Begubalan merupakan salah satu pilihan cara untuk menikah yang unik di Desa Belimbing Jaya karena tidak disampaikan secara langsung kepada orang tua dahulu. Metode penelitian yang digunakan adalah kualitatif dengan pendekatan fenomenologi. Teknik pengumpulan datanya adalah wawancara, jurnal, buku dan dokumentasi terhadap warga Desa Belimbing Jaya Kab. Muara Enim. Teori yang digunakan adalah teori interaksi simbolik. Hasil penelitian ini menunjukan bahwa fenomena begubalan bermakna sebagai penyampai pesan komunikasi anak kepada orang tua tentang keinginan untuk menikah dan dijadikan sebagai jalan pintas untuk melakukan pernikahan serta hubungan yang baik diantara keluarga pasangan begubalan adalah tergantung dari bagaimana pihak keluarga menanggapi fenomena tersebut. Fenomena begubalan tidak langsung menikahkan pasangan melainkan hanya menjadi pesan kepada orang tua akan keinginan anaknya untuk menikah. Kata kunci: Begubalan, Fenomena, Makna, Pernikahan.

Abstract

This thesis aims to examine the "Communication Strategy for South Sumatra TVRI Broadcasting as Public Television". The background of the discussion in this thesis is the consistency of the South Sumatra TVRI media as public television. The research that the author uses is field research with qualitative methods and data collection through: observation, interviews, and documentation with the concept of communication strategy. The results of the South Sumatra TVRI Broadcasting Communication Strategy as a Public Television is done by making a plan which begins with determining the concept of goals, targets to be achieved, and the results to be obtained. Then monitoring and evaluation of the results of all these plans is carried out. In this process, TVRI South Sumatra compiles and coordinates together in a perfect concept of what achievements will be obtained from the program that has been conceptualized previously so that if the achievement concept is successful in achieving its goals, the designs and targets that have been previously in accordance with the final result. However, if the concept of achievement is not successful in achieving its goals, then the design and targets that have been there previously are not in accordance with the final results or in the sense that they fail to achieve their goals.

Abstract

Sexual violence that often occurs in Indonesia at this time is very worrying, many victims of sexual violence are afraid to report this heinous act to those who really regulate cases of sexual violence and most of the survivors of this sexual violence are women. In Indonesia, sexual violence is already very worrying. It can happen anywhere and anytime. The number of victims is increasing and the perpetrators of this violence can be from those closest to them. Various kinds of online mass media such as Tempo.co and sonora.id which are online magazines and newspapers that often bring news about cases of sexual violence to public spaces. This research was conducted with the aim of finding out how online media coverage, especially in the magazines Tempo.co and Sonora.id, discusses sexual violence against women on their news portals. This study uses qualitative research methods and uses Sara Mills' theory which is related to feminism related to women such as sexual violence and how actors from subject-object and writer-reader positions will be written. From the results of the research, the position of the subject-object is how the event or event can be seen and from whose perspective the event can be seen, while the position of the writer-reader is how the position of the actor is displayed in the text that is displayed.
