Abstract

Catfish (Clarias sp) contains albumin which is an important protein needed by the human body, especially in the process of healing diseases. Giving this catfish extract functions as a nutrient, it is hoped that this nutrition can improve nutrition, increase the immune system and speed up the wound healing process or post surgery. This research is an experimental research, in which the albumin ointment formulation of catfish (clarias sp) extract was carried out, with variations of vaselin flavum and adeps lanae ointment bases in three formulations namely formulation 1, formulation 2 and formulation 3. The results of catfish extract (clarias sp) were then formulated in the form of an ointment. Then an evaluation of physical properties was carried out including organoleptic evaluation, homogeneity test, spreadability test, adhesion test, pH test. The results showed that the albumin extract ointment for catfish (Clarias sp) with variations in ointment base made a difference to the evaluation of albumin extract for catfish (Clarias sp) which included organoleptic tests (soft shape, white to yellow), homogeneity test (has round particles, irregular, no foreign particles), spreadability test (FI, 5.16cm: FII, 5.23cm: FIII, 5.06cm), adhesion test (FI, 3.19 seconds, FII 2.27 seconds, FIII 3.24 seconds), pH test (FI 6, FII 6, FIII 6). The conclusion that the vaseline flavum ointment combined with adeps lanae from catfish albumin extract meets the quality consists of an evaluation. homogeneity test, organoleptic test, adhesion test, spreadability test and pH test.

Abstract

Pityrosporum ovale is a microorganism thought to be the main cause of dandruff. Binahong and lemongrass are herbal plants that can cure various diseases. Based on usage empirical leaf binahong and lemongrass kitchen nutritious for remove dandruff, hair loss, diabetes mellitus, anti- cancer and treatment on infection skin caused by bacteria nor mushrooms. Binahong leaf extract and extract lemongrass contain metabolites secondary wrong only flavonoids. Flavonoids are effective as antimicrobials. Destination from study this The purpose of this study was to determine the antifungal activity of the combination of binahong leaf extract (Anredera cordifolia) and lemongrass extract (Cymbopogon citratus) against Pityrosporum ovale . This study used 5 test groups, which consisted of a combination group of binahong leaf extract and lemongrass F1 = concentration 50%:50%, F2 = concentration 37,5%:12,5%, F3 = concentration 25%:25% and F4 = concentration 12,5%:37,5%, and the control group was positive (ketoconazole 2%) and negative ( aquadest), with 3 repetitions. The materials used in this study were binahong leaf simplicia and kitchen lemongrass simplicia macerated using 70% ethanol solvent, resulting in a thick extract which was then tested for antifungal activity against Pityrosporum ovale by the method diffusion paper disc on Sabouraud Dextrose Agar medium . The parameter observed was the diameter of the growth inhibition zone of the fungus Pityrosporum ovale . Analysis using ANOVA (Analysis of Variance). The results of this study were binahong leaf extract and kitchen lemongrass extract positive containing flavonoid compounds. The combination of binahong leaf extract and citronella extract has the ability to inhibit the growth of the fungus Pityrosporum ovale with visible inhibition zones formed. The most effective concentration to inhibit the growth of the fungus Pityrosporum ovale was at a concentration of F1 = 50%:50% of 17.40 mm with a strong category.

Abstract

The Indonesian people know the moringa plant as a plant for consumption as a vegetable, a fetid decoction as well as animal feed. However, the Moringa plant, especially in the leaves, has another benefit , namely as an antioxidant. Antioxidants in Moringa leaves contain tannins, flavonoids, saponins, alkaloids, steroids and terpenoids. The purpose of this study was to determine a good formulation for the preparation of moringa leaf extract lotion with variations in the concentration of triethanolamine. The research method used is the experimental method. Data analysis was performed using the One Way Anova and Kruskal Wallis Test statistical methods . The results showed that the organoleptic test of slightly thick texture preparations for formula I, thick texture for formulas II and III; typical preparation odor of Moringa leaf extract; the color of the preparation is yellow. Homogeneity test of formula I was not homogeneous, formula II was not homogeneous in the third replication, formula III was homogeneous. The average viscosity test for formula I was 1,800 c.Ps, formula II was 8,300 c.Ps, formula III was 1,666 c.Ps. The average pH test for formula I was 6, formula II was 7, formula III was 8. The average adhesion test for formula I was 02.76 seconds, formula II was 02.02 seconds, formula III was 01.37 seconds. The average spreadability test for formula I was 3.9 cm, formula II was 6.6 cm, formula III was 6.9 cm. Based on the evaluation results obtained, it can be concluded that the triethanolamine concentration of 2.5% produces a good formulation for lotion preparations.

Abstract

Albumin is a simple protein with globular protein molecules. Albumin is water soluble and can be coagulated with heat. Albumin solution in water can be precipitated by adding ammonium sulfate until saturated. Albumin functions to regulate the osmotic pressure in the blood, maintain the presence of water in the blood plasma so that it can maintain the volume of blood in the body and as a means of transportation and transportation. Catfish contains 15.6 grams of high-quality protein in each fish so that it can meet the needs of the amino acids needed by the body. The high-quality protein in catfish helps the body build lean brain mass and the protein content in catfish also helps increase the effectiveness of immune function. The purpose of this study was to determine albumin levels in catfish by extracting catfish meat using the oven method and determining the maximum albumin wavelength. In the identification test with the heating method and UV-Vis spectrophotometry test. This research method uses the experimental method. The extraction results were then heated in an oven to observe coagulation and determine the wavelength using UV-Vis spectrophotometry using Bovine Serum Albumin (BSA) as a reference solution and Bromocressol green as a reagent. The conclusion of this study is that catfish meat extract was coagulated using the oven method and maximum absorption was obtained at a wavelength of 625 nm using UV-Vis spectrophotometry.

Abstract

Peel-off gel mask is a practical mask, after drying the mask can be directly removed or removed without causing pain. This mask can also restore freshness and softness of the skin, even with regular use it can reduce fine wrinkles on facial skin. Moringa plants contain antioxidants, especially the leaves that contain flavonoids, causing Moringa leaves to be used as a source of natural antioxidants. The research method used is an experimental method with peel off gel mask preparation samples of Moringa leaf extract with various concentrations of 0% (F0), 5%(F1), 10%(F2), and15% (F3). Data analysis using One Way Anova test with 95% confidence level of significance = 0.05. Evaluation of the peel off gel mask preparation includes organoleptic test, homogeneity test, pH test, viscosity test, dispersibility test, adhesion test, dry time test and syneresis test. The results of the research F0, F1, F2 and F3 met the standard of the tests carried out such as organoleptic tests, pH tests, dispersibility tests, adhesion tests, dry time tests, and syneresis tests. The results of the One Way Anova statistical test for the pH test obtained a P-Value value of 0.63> 0.05, the dispersion test obtained a P-Value value of 0.02 0.05, the drying time test obtained a P-Value value of 0.00 (0.05) while the test dispersion and syneresis test there is an effect of giving concentration variations with a significance value of P < (0.05).

Abstract

The human body cannot be avoided from exposure to free radicals in everyday life. Free radicals are very dangerous for the body, one of which causes degenerative diseases. One of the plants that is thought to be able to inhibit free radicals is the melinjo plant. The processing of melinjo plants in the community is only used as a vegetable, so there is a need for research on the benefits of antioxidants in melinjo plants. The purpose of this study was to explore the parts of melinjo which had the best antioxidant activity found in the soft shell, hard shell and seeds of melinjo (Gnetum gnemon L.) with different solvent concentrations. The research method used was to prepare test samples by maceration process using 50% and 70% ethanol, then the extracts were tested for antioxidants using the DPPH method. Data analysis was performed using the ANOVA statistical test with a 98% confidence level. The results showed that the optimal percentage of free radical inhibition was obtained in 50% ethanol solvent, the outer shell of melinjo was 53.29%, and the IC50 was 318.18 ppm. Based on the One way Anova test (p>0.02) there was no difference between the use of 50% and 70% ethanol solvent on the antioxidant activity of the outer shell, hard skin and melinjo seed samples.

Abstract

Formalin is a non-food preservative that is now widely used to preserve food. Formaldehyde is the trade name of formalin consisting of a mixture of formaldehyde, methanol and water. Formaldehyde on the market has various formaldehyde levels, between 20% - 40%. Formalin is a preservative that is prohibited for use in food products. However, there are traders who use formaldehyde in food products. The purpose of this study was to identify formaldehyde in food sold in Ciamis District. This study is a description of the phenomena found in the field, namely the presence of foods containing formalin. The method used was KmnO4 reagent and Thin Layer Chromatography. The results showed that of the 5 food samples tested using KmnO4, positive results were obtained for tofu, salted fish, fresh fish, and chicken meat which were marked by a loss of purple color during testing. With the Thin Layer Chromatography method, the Rf value of tofu was 0.60, salted fish was 0.61, fresh fish was 0.61 and chicken meat was 0.62

Abstract

Dengue fever is an infectious disease transmitted by the Aedes aegypti mosquito. Temefos is a tool used in controlling Aedes aegypti larvae and its use for a long time without based on rules can cause resistance. This study aims to determine the susceptibility status of Aedes aegypti larvae to Temefos in the Ciamis and Cimaragas areas. The method of this research is experimental with samples obtained from residential areas in Ciamis and Cimaragas sub-districts then hatched into instar IV larvae at the Parasitology Laboratory of STIKes Muhamamadiyah Ciamis in May 2019. The results of the test on temefos 0.1 g showed that Aedes aegypti larvae from both regions obtained the results of Ciamis (100%) and Cimaragas (100%) sub-districts were still susceptible to temefos. From these results it can be concluded that the test larvae from both areas are still susceptible to temefos so that the tool can still be used as a larvicide, especially in controlling Aedes aegypti mosquitoes.

Abstract

Avocado leaves (Persea americana Mill.) contain flavonoid compounds as high as 8.11 mg, so they have potential in the acne healing process. The aim of this research is to create a formulation and evaluate an avocado leaf extract cream preparation. The method used is experimental. Avocado leaf extract cream preparations are made based on varying stearic acid concentrations of 5%, 10% and 15%. Evaluation of the preparation includes organoleptic tests, homogeneity tests, pH tests, spreadability tests, adhesion tests, and viscosity tests. Based on the organoleptic evaluation, the results showed that FI was slightly runny and contained bubbles, FII was slightly thick and FIII was thick. The FI color is brownish white, FII is yellowish white, and FIII is white, and all formulations have a characteristic creamy odor. The homogeneity test shows that all formulas have the same homogeneous preparation. The pH test of the cream preparation showed the same pH value, namely 6. The spreadability test resulted in good spreadability of the cream, namely between 5 and 6.8 cm. The cream adhesion test has an adhesion between 00.53 and 1.38 seconds. And finally, the viscosity test has a viscosity value between 4500 and 8900 mpa. According to the results of this research, avocado leaf extract cream can be used as a cream preparation, with the best stearic acid concentration being 15%.

Abstract

Keji Beling (Strobilanthes crispus BI.) is a plant that has been used by the community as a traditional medicine for kidney stones, diabetes mellitus, ulcers and as a laxative. Keji beling contains many beneficial substances such as flafonoids and tannins. This research aims to determine the content of flavonoid and tannin phytochemical compounds and to determine length Maximum waves in flavonoid and tannin compounds in keji beling leaf extract (Strobilanthes crispus BI.). Keji beling leaves were extracted using the maceration method with 70% ethanol solvent. Secondary metabolite content was identified qualitatively using a phytochemical screening test. Flavonoids were tested with concentrated MgSO4 and HCl reagents and tannins were tested with FeCl3 reagent. Qualitative analysis using the UV-Vis Spectrophotometry method. Results Research shows that the phytochemical screening test on keji beling leaf extract (Strobilanthes crispus BI.) is positive for containing flavonoids and tannins, indicated by a color change in the phytochemical screening test. Qualitative analysis results appear at a maximum wavelength  of 465 nm for flavonoids, and for tannin compounds at a maximum wavelength  of 765 nm.
