Abstract

Of the several animals that we know, the cat is one of the most popular pets in today's society. However, in order to keep the pet cat in good health, cat keeper must pay more attention to the food schedule otherwise the cat will be susceptible to disease, so it can harm the cat itself. In today's modern era, many things can be designed to make activities easier. One of them is the design of a prototype automatic cat feeder. The purpose of this research is to design and make an automatic cat feeding device using Arduino Uno R3 as the brain in this series which then uses Arduino IDE software and C++ programming discussion to input the data that will be needed. Furthermore, this tool will also be directly connected to the RTC (Real Time Clock) as a benchmark for the hour and date and the servo motor as a valve controller, so that the feeder will open according to the input schedule. This tool also uses the GPRS Shield 800L as a sender of SMS notifications when the prediction feed is running out. Finally, this one set of tools also uses a step down module which can be used as a voltage adjustment for the feeder. This tool can later be useful, especially for cat shelter owners/keepers because it can provide feed according to a time and schedule whose own dose can be inputted based on age. The advantage of this tool is that it can last for approximately 2 hours without electricity (possibly when the power goes out) specifically for sending notifications.

Abstract

Prediction is the process of systematically estimating the most likely event to occur in the future based on past and current information, so that errors (the difference between what happened and what is expected) are minimized. Dharmawangsa High School has the goal of adding/improving school facilities and infrastructure. Therefore, a solution must be found to overcome this problem, one of which is predicting the number of new Dharmawangsa High School students so that the Dharmawangsa High School can predict the addition and reduction of school facilities and infrastructure. Because of this, researchers approached the solution by implementing the Single Exponential Smooth method and designing a system that is useful for predicting the number of new students at Dharmawangsa High School. From the research results, the number of new students in 2024 will be 299 science students and 101 social studies students. The smallest mean squared error (MSE) for the number of new science students was obtained with α=0.3, namely 1723,673 and the smallest MSE for the number of new social studies students with α=0.9, namely 1293,873. The smallest Mean Absolute Percentage Error (MAPE) for the number of new science students was obtained with α=0.6, namely 10.29% with a good description of the method used. Meanwhile, the smallest MAPE on the number of new IPS students was obtained with α=0.8, namely 26.64% with a description of the method used was bad. This study concludes that the Single Exponential Smooth Method can be used to predict the number of new students at Dharmawangsa High School so that the predicted value can be known in the following year. As well as researchers managed to build and design a system to predict the number of new students at Dharmawangsa High School.

Abstract

Penggunaan sistem informasi ini akan memberikan kemudahan bagi Dinas Perkebunan Sumatera Utara dalam memanajemen pegawai terkususnya dalam segi penginputan data pegawai. Sehubung dengan mekanisme penginputan data masih menggunakan metode klasik yaitu dengan menggunakan MS Excel dimana penulis mengganggap masih kurang fleksibel. Oleh karena itu, melalui Kerja Praktek ini penulis berharap dapat merancang sebuah web aplikasi dimana para pegawai bisa dapat menginput data mereka dengan lebih mudah dan fleksibel. Pembuatan sistem ini dimulai dari pengumpulan data, analisis sistem, perancangan sistem dan implementasi.

Abstract

Electrical Machinery Laboratory, University of Medan Area is one of the laboratories based on energy conversion, and it requires a large source of electrical energy with a variable voltage (voltage can be set from 0.) The excitation system is a DC power supply system as a reinforcement to an electric generator or generator. as a magnetic field generator, so that a generator can produce electrical energy with a large generator output voltage depending on the magnitude of the excitation current. The excitation voltage required to meet the demand is 82 Volt DC. From the results of the test data obtained by 98.1 Volt DC, this is already sufficient to be able to regulate the variable generator excitation voltage. So that the planning of this tool can make it easier to regulate the excitation of the generator from wherever it is, both from a short distance and long distance without using a cable (wireless) by using the Remote Control.

Abstract

Trainer is a medium object similar to real objects that facilitates learning. Solar energy is renewable energy.Each type of PV has its own advantages and disadvantages. In this regard, the design of a solar panel trainer, a combination of pollycrystalline and monocrystalline PV type in NRE, aims to be a learning medium for Newand Renewable Energy (EBT). Solar panels of polycrystalline and monocrystalline types have different characteristics, performance, and efficiency. To get the results of the data so that it can be analyzed, the trainer is designed using a DC Wattmeter, Solar Charge Controller, and Battery. The experiment was conducted on July 17, 2022 and in this trainer can be seen the average efficiency on polycrystalline solar panels of 12.01%, monocrystalline solar panels of 6.11%, and parallel polycrystalline and monocrystallinesolar panels of 4.20%.

Abstract

Cultivating catfish uses an artificial pond which is in great demand among the community. Most of the people who have jobs other than breeders choose this job to increase their income. Today's technological developments and advancements have a significant impact on how human society conducts every action. The authors created a program and were interested in using the term "Design of Automatic Catfish Feeders Based on IoT-Based Age" based on the background described above. This tool system makes use of the NodeMCU ESP8266 microcontroller, which performs dual roles as a WI-FI network receiver and a data processor for a WI-FI network system. This tool system uses the RTC module as a time reader to provide fish feed automatically in the morning and evening and this tool system can then be controlled using a smartphone and the NodeMCU application to provide feed using the IOT system.

Abstract

Human Resources (HR) in a transportation companies may affect many aspects that determine work success, especially the drivers. Competition among drivers is getting tougher, hence the companies face difficulties in finding the best bus drivers. Nevertheless, the assessment still uses the traditional method, namely by using a book as the calculation. The study used the Simple Multi-Attribute Rating Technique (SMART) and Multi Factor Evaluation Process (MFEP) methods to rank drivers’ performance in terms of discipline, knowledge, loyalty, and years of service. The system used in this study also compares the two methods with the actual rank from the company. The population in this study was 90 respondent, with a sample data of 10 drivers. The results show that the SMART method is closer to manual ranking, which has 7 similarities out of 10 ranking sequences or 70% accuracy rate with the manual calculations. On the other hand, only 4 similarities out of 10 ranking se-quences were generated by the MFEP method. Thus, the MFEP method only has a 40% accuracy rate with manual calculations. To sum up, the research created a decision support system that has certainty in choosing the best bus driver to assists the leaders to find the best driver to get an exclusive bus.

Abstract

The need for the use of information systems is currently felt by the Medan city Cooperative and ukm Office. Especially the use of information systems with the aim of assisting operational activities in terms of monitoring staffing, namely leave, promotions and employeest retiretment. The staffing monitoring system at the Cooperatives and UKM Office in Medan City has not been computerized. Through this practical work report, the authors propose to design a web-based staffing monitoring system through several stages, namely, data collection which includes interviews and practical work, software design including needs analysis, and system design. The result of thisf practical work is the design of a web-based staffing at the Cooperatives UKM Office in Medan City.

Abstract

Selama ini proses masuk dan keluarnya barang pada Telkom STO Cinta Damai masih berlangsung secara manual penggunaan aplikasi Microsoft Excel dan pencatatannya masih dilakukan dengan tenaga kerja manusia atau pegawai. Sehingga, proses masuk dan keluarnya barang menjadi kurang efisien dan efektif. Laporan kerja praktek ini membangun sebuah sistem informasi untuk membantu pendataan barang secara daring melalui situs web.  Sistem yang dibangun dengan menggunakan Bahasa pemrograman PHP, dan memanfaatkan aplikasi XAMPP, Sublime Text 3, serta Codeigniter sebagai sumber template. wawancara dan pengawasan dilakukan kepada pihak yang bersangkutan demi memperoleh data relevan untuk dilakukan studi Pustaka dengan proses kerja praktek. Sistem informasi keluar masuk barang bisa digunakan sebagai sarana dan prasarana bagi pegawai Gudang guna mempermudah dalam pengolahan data Gudang serta mempersingkat kerja

Abstract

In today's modern era, the use of the internet of things (IoT) has been widely applied in various fields, almost all electronic devices are connected to the internet. Along with the development of technology, the application of this technology in the field of agriculture really needs to be considered. Due to the increasing need for plant monitoring and care. Therefore, the importance of plant care and monitoring so that plants can produce good quality.  In this research, an automatic plant watering system is designed that is connected to the internet network so that users can monitor plants so that they are maintained and produce plant quality. This system is designed using a NodeMcu microcontroller as the center of the system and as a data sender between systems and a web server. In this research, a monitoring system and automatic plant watering has been successful by reading the size of the moisture in the soil. The result is this system can provide water needs for plants. Then the system sends information to the website page that has been built so that users can monitor their plants anytime and anywhere.
