Abstract

Tulisan ini hendak mengajak para sarjana dan peneliti komunikasi memberikan perhatian pada masalah Hak Kekayaan Intelektual (HKI) yang bisa menjadi salah satu aspek penelitian dalam dunia ilmu komunikasi. Paling tidak ada lima perspektif yang akan ditunjukkan di sini untuk melihat problematika HKI sebagai bagian dari kajian komunikasi: yaitu perspektif ekonomi politik komunikasi, perspektif komunikasi internasional, perspektif komunikasi sebagai bagian dari hak budaya, perspektif terkait dengan perkembangan masyarakat informasi, dan perspektif yang melihat perkembangan media baru. Tulisan ini juga menyarankan pendekatan multidisipliner yang lebih banyak dalam melihat berbagai fenomena komunikasi, karena pada awalnya komunikasi juga berutang pada disiplin ilmu lain seperti psikologi, politik, persuasi, retorika, dll. The article aims to draw the attention of communication scholars and researchers to Intellectual Property as one of research subjects in the contemporary communication science. At least this article points out five communication perspectives to observe the matters of Intellectual Property as part of communication analysis. They are political economy of communication; international communication; communication as part of cultural rights; development of information society, and new media development. This article also suggests the use of more multidisiplinary approaches to analyze many communication phenomena, since at the begining communication studies owed to other disciplines like psycology, politics, persuasion, rhetorics etc.

Abstract

Desa merupakan entitas penting di Indonesia. Pasalnya, sebagian besar wilayah Indonesia adalah desa. Sejauh ini isu desa belum menjadi perhatian sebagian besar media, termasuk media lokal yang notabene dekat dengan entitas desa. Penelitian ini dilakukan dengan menggunakan metode analisis isi. Objek penelitian adalah dua surat kabar lokal online yang berbasis di wilayah Kabupaten Banyumas, yaitu Radar Banyumas dan Satelit Post dalam rentang waktu 1 tahun (Maret 2013 -Maret 2014). Dari hasil penelitian, tercermin bahwa media sibuk dengan isu besar yang cenderung “Jakarta Sentris”. Jikalau diberitakan, desa ditempatkan sebagai komunitas yang inferior dan termarginalkan. Isu tentang Desa seringkali dikaitkan dengan kriminalitas, peristiwa bencana, dan juga kemiskinan. Padahal, ada banyak sisi lain dari desa yang dapat ditonjolkan dan memberikan dampak positif bagi pembangunan Desa. Perlu sinergitas antara desa dengan media dalam membangun wacana positif tentang Desa. Peluangnya, meskipun dalam produk yang dihasilkan oleh media belum mencerminkan sinergitas tersebut, ada komitmen yang diutarakan redaksi untuk lebih memperhatikan desa dalam pemberitaannya. Village is an important entity in Indonesia. The reason is Indonesia mostly comprises rural areas. So far most media outlets, including local media that are in fact in close proximity to villages, lack interest in the issue of village.This research used the content analysis method. The study was conducted on two local online newspapers based in Banyumas regency, namely RadarBanyumas and Satellite Post within a span of 1 year (March 2013-March 2014). The research found the media tend to be Jakarta-centered as they were busy with big issues that were happening in the capital city. When covered, villages are treated as inferior and marginalized communities. The issue of village is often associated with crime, disasters and poverty, whereas there are lots of other sides of the village that the media can promote to spur rural development. Synergy between villages and the media to build a constructive discourse about village is imperative. Although the products of the media have not yet reflected the synergy, there is commitment from the editors to paying more attention to village affairs.

Tulisan ini memisahkan istilah berita pagi – yang lebih dikenal – dari morning show, sehingga memperkenalkan istilah baru dalam format televisi di Indonesia. Daya tarik Morning show sebagai format program berita yang lebih santai dan informal, menimbulkan perbedaan yang sistematis sehingga mudah untuk diadaptasi. Alhasil, Morning show berhasil menyebar ke berbagai benua serta menjadi agen globalisasi media. Berfokus pada tiga program di Indonesia, yang berada di bawah definisi Wieten (2000), artikel ini mengeksplorasi penyesuaian oleh stasiun televisi Indonesia dalam memasukkan muatan lokal pada format global. Penolakan oleh pelaku media lokal terhadap homogensiasi, memunculkan disagregasi yang berhasil membedakan satu program dari yang lain. This article separates the term of morning news program – which is better known as – from morning show, hence introduces a new genre of television format in Indonesia. The lures of morning show as a more relaxed, informal form of news program has created such systematic distinctions that are easy to adapt. As a result, morning show can spread across continents and become an agent of media globalization. Focusing on three national programs that fall under the category of morning show according to Wieten (2000), the article explores adjustments attempted by Indonesian television stations in promoting local contents in the global format. Resistance of local media players to homogeneity generates emerges disaggregation that successfully differentiates one program from the other.
