Abstract

AbstractIn fish catching activity, the fishermen in Banyuanyar district use mini tools for catching fish (purse seine) and use light assist tools for an operation in the night day. The light, that is used, is kerosene pressure lantern and mercury lights or lamp that is used on water surface (surface lamp). This kind of light is used to collect "pelagic” fish that has positive phototaxis characteristic. Puffer fish's response towards different sourse of light, that's kerosene pressure lantern and mercury light is needed to be known. Therefore, we can know the source of light that is more effective in order to collect the fish. It is hoped that the productivity of puffer fish will be developed for the fishermen. During the research with ten times repeating, the total account of puffer fish's haul that is resulted with two different treatment  by using kerosene pressure lantern and mercury light is that 810 kg and 1.460 kg. The data of puffer fish's haul that is gotten after using MannWhitney test shows that the kerosene pressure lantern and mercury light not to really different, especially in the haul of puffer fish in significant standart (0,05) is 2,262, while in Mann-Whitney test account is 0,171. That means the fishermans in Banyuanyar can use kerosene pressure lantern and mercury light for catching fish as the light assist tools for an operation in the night day.

Abstract

Abstract Seaweed is vulnerable to be infected by disease due to unlikely environmental circumstance. This condition could cause impact on the optimum growth of seaweed. This research was carried out to understand the rate and percentage of ice-ice disease on Kappaphycus alvarezii. Seven units of seaweed rafts were used. Each of them was observed every 12 hours. Results of this research indicated that the percentage of infection was relatively higher during the day on the observation units which were located next to the shore (1,008%). Three days after the infection of ice-ice disease occurred, the mortality of Kappaphycus alvarezii was certain. Therefore, it was recommended that harvesting Kappaphycus alvarezii should be done one day after the indications of ice-ice disease were noticed.

Abstract

Abstract Dunaliella salina is one natural food that is good enough for the larvae of sea urchins and also can be used as food Brachionus plicatilis and Artemia in aquaculture feed Artemia. Blotong is precipitated in the process of purification juice before cooking and crystallized into sugar. Purification is a process to separate the juice from dirt or fibers. Sugarcane is used as fertilizer by using oven dried first. Vitamin B is needed some algae to build 12 proteins and essential as a coenzyme necessary for DNA synthesis in the formation of new cells. Vitamin B is a 12 coenzyme B -dependent methionine synthase and vitamin B -dependent ribonucleotide reductase. Vitamin B 12 12 12 dependent methionine synthase function for synthesis methionin (essential amino acids), whereas vitamin B 12 dependent ribonucleotide reductase functions to DNA synthesis. This study aims to determine the effect of vitamin B in dry blotong media on the growth of D. salina 12 population and to determine the optimal dosage of vitamin B in dry blotong media which can produce the highest 12 population growth of D. salina. This research used Completely Randomized Design (CRD) with seven treatments and three replications. The study used namely: Fertilizer blotong dried with the addition of vitamin B 10 g / L (A), dose of 12 12 ug / L (B), the dose of 14 ug / L (C), a dose of 16 ug / L (D), dose 18 ug / L (E), a dose of 20 ug / L (F) and control treatment of dry sugarcane fertilizer without adding vitamin B12 or dose 0 g / L (G). The main parameter used is the population of D. salina, while supporting the water quality parameters (salinity, pH and water temperature). Data were analyzed with ANOVA (analysis of variants) and to know the differences among the treatments performed Duncan's Multiple Range Test. The results showed that the addition of vitamin B in dry blotong media had no effect on the growth of population D. salina (p> 0.05).
