Abstract

Parents, especially mothers who have toddler-aged children, are not yet optimal in providing toilet training education to their children. Based on the results of discussions held with parents, they said that their children were still using pempers and had never been given education by the community health center about toilet training, so the parents had no knowledge about toilet training. Based on this, we took the initiative to hold health education regarding toilet training education as a promotive and preventive effort for teenagers to improve their health status. The purpose of this activity is to hope that toddler-aged children can independently carry out toilet training. The methods is carried out by lectures, discussions and questions and answers while the media uses video. The results of this activity show an increase in participants' knowledge about toilet training for toddler-aged children. The conclusion of this activity is that toilet training education for mothers with toddler-aged children through health education can increase knowledge about toilet training in mothers.

Abstract

Hand washing is the process of mechanically removing dirt and dust from the skin of the hands using soap and water. Hands are the main vector for the spread of germs that cause disease. Due to a lack of hand washing habits, children are at high risk of developing diarrhea and respiratory diseases which often lead to death. Children at school are the best candidates to apply PHBS values ??and have the capacity to act as agents of change, promoting PHBS at home, school and community. The method for implementing hand washing education is by introducing hand washing material to the public. Participants in this outreach activity are students and accompanying teachers. The stages in hand washing education include the problem identification stage, the counseling stage, and the evaluation stage. Data obtained from interviews with the SDN 11 Tanjung Gunung school, it was found that students at the school had not been given knowledge about proper hand washing hygiene so they could not wash their hands properly. So it is necessary to provide education about the 6 steps for washing hands with soap and direct practice on how to wash hands correctly. Based on the results and discussion that have been explained, it can be concluded that the level of understanding of students in understanding and practicing the 6 steps for washing hands as determined by WHO is quite effective and has increased after the counseling was carried out.

Abstract

Chronic Energy Deficiency (KEK) is a condition where teenagers experience a prolonged or chronic lack of iron (calories and protein). According to the UNICEF statement, the causes of stunting are nutritional imbalances, low birth weight and a history of any disease suffered by the mother during pregnancy, such as chronic energy deficiency. Many young women suffer from a lack of energy and protein intake. Low intake of micronutrients. Nationally, the prevalence of chronic energy deficiency is 20.8% in women of childbearing age, 6.8% in underweight women aged 13 to 15 years and 1.9% in very thin women. Nutrition education is a method and effort to increase nutritional knowledge and eating behavior to create knowledge and attitudes towards nutrition among teenagers. The higher the nutritional knowledge, the greater the influence on attitudes and behavior towards food intake. The factors that can cause stunting in toddlers are closely related to each other. The prevalence of stunting in teenagers is due to the fact that the rate of chronic energy deficiency in teenagers is still high. There were 40 participants who took part in the activity. By using leaflet media which was distributed to all teenagers who took part in the socialization. It is hoped that after carrying out this activity, teenagers will increase their knowledge and understanding and will be motivated to maintain their health by always consuming blood-boosting tablets (TTD) and consuming nutritious food with the aim of preventing chronic energy deficiency in teenagers

Abstract

Hypertension is a non-communicable disease with a prevalence that continues to increase every year. The problem that occurs in society is a lack of understanding about self-care management, which causes uncontrolled blood pressure and the risk of lasting complications such as stroke. Education aims to increase knowledge about the benefits and obstacles and self-care management efforts in controlling blood pressure. The community service methods used are health checks, providing modules and brainstorming-based education about self-care management for hypertension patients. The evaluation results obtained were that before education was carried out using the brainstorming method, only 13 participants (37%) had a good level of knowledge about self-care management and this increased to 31 participants (89%). Participants very enthusiastically expressed the opinion that it is very important to check blood pressure every month and change lifestyle and behavior patterns. It is hoped that counseling will be carried out on a scheduled basis so as to increase knowledge and self-care management of hypertension patients.
