Abstract

This research is aimed to foster students’ motivation in improving writing performance by implementing direct corrective feedback. Direct error correction identifies both the error and the target form. Providing corrective feedback is an essential part of language learning because it influences students’ learning and achievement. Feedback helps both teachers and students to meet their goals in teaching and learning. Feedback and motivation are two perceptions which control the students’ English as foreign language improvement and progress in learning. This research applied a descriptive qualitative research method. Data gathered through observation, interview, questionnaire, and relevant documents. The research was conducted in the seventh C grade of MTs YP KH Syamsuddin Ponorogo. Thirty five students participated in this research by filling out a questionnaire, and interviewed to obtain more information related to their responses to the questionnaire. The finding of this research indicates that the implementation of direct corrective feedback in improving students’ writing performance and motivation in writing teaching learning process was divided into two ways: oral and written. There was also such improvement on students’ motivation. The students’ responses toward the implementation of direct corrective feedback in improving the students’ writing performance were positive because it made them feel comfort in the learning process.

Abstract

This article aims to determine the impact of overlapping parental duties during the pandemic on the psychological condition of children in Distance Learning, based on the results of interviews and observations of students and their guardians at Al-Amanah Campor Barat Kindergarten, Ambunten Sumenep. This article identifies the overlapping duties of parents, namely studying children's school assignments, motivating the children to learn, finding a stable internet network, and providing the monthly internet quotas. Furthermore, the overlapping of parental duties during distance learning has a negative impact on the child's psyche. The indicator is that children feel bored and even cry, because often parents are impatient and yell at them during the implementation of distance learning.

Abstract

This article tries to adapt the concept of religious education curriculum in the family with Islamic perspectives whose main source comes from the thought of Islamic education scholars. Islam considers education in the family to be the oldest informal religious educational institution. The role of parents or families is very important to the successful education of the child, because the child has more time at home with his family. Religious education in the family is intended to shape children into human beings who believe and fear Allah SWT and have noble character and religious values that are carried out in daily life. Seeing how important the role of the family in educating children, a curriculum concept is needed as a reference for Muslim parents in educating their children. Thus, parents can guide their children by providing educational materials that suit the needs, ages, interests, and talents of children, as stated in Ibn Sina and al-Shaibani's thoughts on the concept of education in the family. Besides, aspects of the use of methods in educating children are important things to be considered by parents. Abdullah Nasih Ulwan offered methods that parents can use in educating children, including methods of role models (uswah hasanah), habituation methods, advice (mau’izah) methods, methods of attention, and methods of punishment.

Abstract

The Covid-19 pandemic results social changes significantly in the world of education, from offline learning to online learning. In order not to experience cultural lag, this article offers a functional structural theory initiated by Talcott Parsons to examine the implementation of online learning, through the AGIL (Adaptation, Goal Attainment, Integration, Latency) scheme. This article recommends to all involved and interested parties to immediately adapt to online learning, so that the online learning can meet the educational and learning objectives that have been proclaimed. Therefore, integration between three educational centres is needed, such as school, families and communities; so that education as a cultural pattern inherent in Indonesian society is maintained even during the Covid-19 pandemic. More than that, the implementation of online learning must maintain a new cultural pattern during the Covid-19 pandemic, namely complying with health protocol standards.

Abstract

The quality of Human Resources (HR) is influenced by the quality of education and learning. While the quality of education and learning is influenced by the quality of students. For having qualified students, learning consistency is needed. Therefore, this article seeks to formulate the concept of Istiqamah study in the perspective of Al-Zarnuji in the book of Ta'lim Al-Muta'allim. The findings of this article are Istiqamah learning is based on actual Qur'an in practice; Learning time management is structured effectively and efficiently, especially by maintaining habits at night; being gentle and not excessive in physical and psychological intercourse to learn which can weaken physical and psychic; and integrating noble ideals with seriousness (scientific ethic), to minimize the laziness that becomes a learning barrier.Kualitas Sumber Daya Manusia (SDM) dipengaruhi oleh kualitas pendidikan dan pembelajaran. Sedangkan kualitas pendidikan dan pembelajaran dipengaruhi oleh kualitas peserta didik. Agar peserta didik berkualitas, dibutuhkan konsistensi belajar. Oleh sebab itu, artikel ini berupaya memformulasikan konsep istiqamah belajar dalam perspektif al-Zarnuji dalam kitab Ta’lim al-Muta’allim karya. Temuan artikel ini adalah istiqamah belajar dilandasi oleh pengamalan al-Qur’an secara aktual; manajemen waktu belajar yang disusun secara efektif dan efisien, terutama melalui kebiasaan terjaga di malam hari; sikap lemah lembut dan tidak berlebihan dalam memforsir fisik dan psikis untuk belajar, sehingga melemahkan fisik dan psikis; serta memadukan cita-cita luhur dengan kesungguhan (etos ilmiah), untuk meminimalisasi rasa malas yang menjadi penghalang belajar.

Abstract

This article classifies three types of educational problems in Malang, namely demoralization of children; online learning problems; and children caught up by drugs. As a problem solving strategy, this article offers a nabawi character education adapted from the work of Sa'id Isma'il ‘Ali entitled al-Sunnah al-Nabawiyyah: Ru’yah Al-Tarbawiyyah, then contextualized in three character educational patterns. First, moral knowledge (moral knowing) through a learning model classified as teacher-centered such as the story method (qissah) and metaphor (amthal); and the learning model classified as student-centered such as discussion (hiwar) and healthy reasoning ('aql salim). Second is moral deeds (moral doing) through the method of bayan 'amali (demonstration and simulation), mumarasah (exercises) and wasa'il ta'lim (facilities and infrastructure). Third is moral feeling through the qudwah or uswah method (exemplary) and muhasabah or muraqabah (self-introspection). As a practical offer, this article describes a number of alternative implementation of each method in these three character educational patterns, as a problem solving strategy for three educational problems in Malang.Artikel ini memetakan tiga jenis problematika pendidikan di Kota Malang, yaitu demoralisasi anak; problematika pembelajaran daring; dan anak terjerat narkoba. Sebagai strategi problem solving, artikel ini menawarkan pendidikan karakter nabawi yang diadaptasi dari karya Sa’id Isma’il ‘Ali yang berjudul al-Sunnah al-Nabawiyyah: Ru’yah al-Tarbawiyyah, lalu dikontekstualisasikan dalam tiga pola pendidikan karakter. Pertama, pengetahuan moral (moral knowing) melalui model pembelajaran yang tergolong teacher-centris, seperti metode kisah (qishshah) dan metafora (amtsal); serta model pembelajaran yang tergolong student centris, seperti diskusi (hiwar) dan penalaran sehat (‘aql salim). Kedua, perbuatan moral (moral doing) melalui metode bayan ‘amali (demonstrasi dan simulasi), mumarasah (latihan-pembiasan) dan wasa’il ta’lim (sarana dan prasarana). Ketiga, sikap moral (moral feeling) melalui metode qudwah atau uswah (keteladanan) dan muhasabah atau muraqabah (introspeksi diri). Sebagai tawaran yang bersifat praktis, artikel ini memaparkan sejumlah alternatif implementasi setiap metode pada tiga pola pendidikan karakter tersebut, sebagai strategi problem solving terhadap tiga problematika pendidikan di Kota Malang.

Abstract

The Islamic Religious Education textbook ideally functions as a learning media to emerge religious tolerance values to students. However, it is still found that the Islamic Religious Education textbook in elementary and secondary schools contains religious intolerance. Therefore, this article intends to examine the Islamic Religious Education and Character book of  Class X in the perspective of religious tolerance and intolerance. This article is compiled with a qualitative approach, a library research type. The data collection techniques were in the form of documentation and content analysis techniques through hermeneutical meaning that involves the horizon of text and context. The findings of this article are: most of the book contents are in accordance with the values of religious tolerance. However, it is still found such content that has a religious intolerance, precisely in Chapter II regarding intolerance in dressing, Chapter IV related to exclusive thinking, and Chapter X related to radical understanding.Idealnya, buku teks Pendidikan Agama Islam (PAI) berfungsi sebagai media pembelajaran untuk menanamkan nilai-nilai toleransi beragama kepada peserta didik. Realitanya, masih dijumpai pemberitaan yang menyebutkan bahwa buku teks PAI di sekolah dasar dan menengah, mengandung muatan intoleransi beragama. Oleh sebab itu, artikel ini bermaksud menelaah buku PAI dan Budi Pekerti kelas X dalam perspektif toleransi dan intoleransi beragama. Artikel ini disusun dengan pendekatan kualitatif, jenis penelitian pustaka, teknik pengumpulan data berupa dokumentasi dan teknik analisis isi melalui pemaknaan hermeneutis yang melibatkan horizon teks dan konteks. Temuan artikel ini adalah mayoritas isi buku PAI dan Budi Pekerti kelas X SMA sudah sesuai dengan nilai-nilai toleransi beragama. Akan tetapi, masih dijumpai isi buku yang memiliki muatan intoleransi beragama, tepatnya pada Bab II terkait intoleransi dalam berpakaian, Bab IV terkait pemikiran eksklusif, dan Bab X terkait paham radikal.

Abstract

The low learning quality and results can be caused by a lack of interest and attention of students to subjects. As an alternative solutions, effective and attractive learning media are needed, such as the learning media used by teachers in Mi Nurul Islam Selok Awar-Awar, Lumajang, East Java. That is an animated video to improve story-writing skills. This article is prepared with a qualitative approach and a field research type. This article examines the use of animated videos classified as audio-visual media in thematic learning of writing skills in Mi Nurul Islam Selok Awar-Awar, Lumajang Regency. In its implementation, the teacher applied four stages: the stage of learning preparation, the opening stage of learning, the core stage of learning and the learning closing stage.Rendahnya kualitas dan hasil pembelajaran, dapat disebabkan oleh faktor kurangnya minat dan perhatian peserta didik terhadap mata pelajaran. Alternatif solusinya, dibutuhkan media pembelajaran yang efektif dan atraktif, seperti media pembelajaran yang digunakan oleh guru di MI Nurul Islam Selok Awar-Awar, Lumajang, Jawa Timur. Yaitu video animasi untuk meningkatkan keterampilan menulis cerita. Artikel ini disusun dengan pendekatan kualitatif dan jenis penelitian lapangan. Artikel ini menelaah penggunaan video animasi yang tergolong media audio-visual dalam pembelajaran tematik keterampilan menulis cerita di MI Nurul Islam Selok Awar-Awar, Kabupaten Lumajang. Dalam implementasinya, guru menerapkan empat tahap: Tahap Persiapan Pembelajaran, Tahap Pembuka Pembelajaran, Tahap Inti Pembelajaran dan Tahap Penutup Pembelajaran.

Abstract

The marriage laws problem between religious is still not in detail both in legislation and perceptions of religious people. Proven in theory and practice, there is still a polemic in the community. This long debate must be sought to settle up to the point of perception that can accommodate all religious people, for the realization of religious harmony in Indonesia. For this reason, this article offers a new methodology that can flex the tension and pros-cons of marriage between religious law. The concept of Muhammad Syahrur’s Islam and faith is considered able to pass and contribute legal solutions to marriage between religious in Indonesia. The difference in perception lies in the difficulty of categorizing the terms “who are Muslims?” And “who is non-Muslim?” In the Qur'an, the terms appear in three categories, namely: musyrik, ahl al-Kitab and ahl al-iman. With the concept of Syahrur’s Islam and faith, the root of the difference ranges not to the terms, but more on the categorization of “what is Islam?” And “what is faith?” According to Syahrur, Islam refers to the belief in God, days later and good deeds. The faith refers specifically to the actions that follow the teachings of the Prophet Muhammad. All who believe in God, the later days and do good deeds are Muslims. Those who follow the teachings of the Prophet Muhammad are Muslim-believers. Those who participated in the teachings of the Prophet Isa AS were Christian-Muslims, and those who participated in the teachings of the Prophet Musa AS were Jews-Muslim. This Syahrur’s concept needs to be observed and developed further, so that it can provide a complete and contextual legal point on the problem of contemporary Muslims, especially in Indonesia.Problematika hukum pernikahan antarumat beragama, sampai saat ini masih belum terperinci dengan jelas, baik dalam perundang-undangan maupun persepsi umat beragama. Terbukti dalam teori dan praktik, masih terjadi polemik di tengah masyarakat. Perdebatan panjang ini harus diupayakan penyelesaiannya sampai pada titik persepsi yang bisa mengakomodir seluruh umat beragama, demi terwujudnya kerukunan umat beragama di Indonesia. Untuk itu, artikel ini menawarkan metodologi baru yang bisa melenturkan ketegangan dan pro-kontra terkait hukum pernikahan antarumat beragama. Konsep islam dan iman Muhammad Syahrur dinilai mampu meneropong dan menyumbangkan solusi hukum atas pernikahan antarumat beragama di Indonesia. Alasannya, selama ini perbedaan persepsi terletak pada sulitnya mengkategorikan term-term siapa itu muslim? dan siapa itu non-muslim?. Dalam al-Qur’an, term-term itu muncul dalam tiga kategori, yakni: musyrik, ahl al-Kitab dan ahl al-Iman. Dengan konsep islam dan iman Syahrur, maka akar perbedaan berkisar bukan pada term-term tersebut, namun lebih pada pengkategorian apa itu Islam? dan apa itu iman?. Menurut Syahrur, Islam merujuk kepada keyakinan terhadap Tuhan, hari kemudian dan amal saleh. Sementara iman merujuk secara spesifik kepada tindakan yang mengikuti ajaran Nabi Muhammad SAW. Semua yang meyakini Tuhan, hari kemudian dan melakukan amal saleh adalah muslim. Mereka yang mengikuti ajaran Nabi Muhammad SAW adalah muslim-Mukmin. Mereka yang mengikuti ajaran Nabi Isa AS adalah muslim-Kristen, dan mereka yang mengikuti ajaran Nabi Musa AS adalah muslim-Yahudi. Konsep yang dibangun Syahrur ini perlu dicermati dan dikembangkan lebih lanjut, sehingga bisa memberikan titik tolak itjihad hukum yang baru dan kontekstual atas problematika umat muslim kontemporer, khususnya di Indonesia.
