Abstract

AbstractIron deficiency anemia, commonly occurring in infants aged 6-24 months, can be prevented by delaying the cutting of the umbilical cord after birth. A quasi-experimental study conducted at the Mother and Child Clinic in Mojo Kediri involved 30 infants, divided into an experimental group (with delayed cord clamping) and a control group. Hemoglobin levels were measured using a Hematology Autoanalyzer, and the data were analyzed using a t-test. The intervention group, with a delay in cord clamping for 1 hour, showed an average increase in Hb levels from 15.444 g/dl to 19.800 g/dl after 24 hours. Meanwhile, the control group, without any delay, increased from 15.544 g/dl to 16.844 g/dl. Delaying the umbilical cord clamping significantly increased hemoglobin levels in newborns (p-value: 0.000). Infants with delayed cord clamping exhibited higher hemoglobin levels, better body iron reserves, and reduced risk of anemia. The higher red blood cell levels supported better cardiopulmonary adaptation and increased breastfeeding duration in early life. The research concludes that delaying the cutting of the umbilical cord for 2 minutes in newborns can enhance Hb levels after 24 hours compared to cord clamping at 15 seconds after birth. This highlights the importance of delaying cord clamping to support hemoglobin health and infant development. Keywords: Delaying Umbilical Cord Clamping, Hemoglobin Levels, Newborns

Abstract

Handover is an oral communication of information about patients carried out by nurses at the change of shift. Inaccurate information in carrying out acceptance considerations can have a serious impact on patients. The aim of this literature review is to determine the factors associated with patient handover in hospital inpatient rooms. A literature search was carried out based on articles published between 2018-2023 according to the inclusion and exclusion criteria that had been determined using 1 data base, namely GoogleSchool. This literature search uses the PRISMA guideline in carrying out the screening process. From the search results, 2,420 articles were obtained. After carrying out the screening process, there were 3 articles that met the criteria and will be analyzed. Based on a study of 3 articles, it was found that the factors related to the implementation of patient handover in inpatient rooms in hospitals are: supervision, knowledge, peer support, communication, and organizational culture. Factors related to the implementation of handover patient consist of interna and external factors. It is hoped that hospitals will establish policies related to the management of handover patient in the form of standards and handover patient procedures that are applied in all hospital inpatient rooms, socialization and need supervision toward handover patient. As well as increasing nurses' knowledge through training. Keywords: factors, consideration, inpatient, hospital, nurse

Abstract

The most common complaint felt by patients due to fractures and the main complaint of patients after surgery is pain. Pain that is felt continuously can result in clinical and psychological changes. Benson's relaxation can be an alternative intervention in patients with Post Open Reduction Internal Fixation (ORIF) limb fractures to reduce pain by stimulating the pituitary gland to release endorphins and inhibit pain impulses from the cerebral cortex and thalamus. Benson Relaxation is safe and easy to do, has no risk of injury/side effects. The purpose of this study was to determine the effect of Benson relaxation on pain in patients with Post Open Reduction Internal Fixation (ORIF) limb fractures in the Dahlia Room at Mardi Waluyo General Hospital, Blitar. The research design uses a quasi-experimental pre-post test design. The population was all post ORIF patients with extremity fractures in the Dahlia (surgical) room at Mardi Waluyo Blitar Hospital with a total of 35 patients. The sample was post ORIF extremity fracture patients in the Dahlia Room of Mardi Waluyo General Hospital Blitar with a total sample of 13 respondents in each group using the Consecutive Sampling technique. Pain measurement data uses a Numerical Rating Scale. Statistical test using independent t-test. The results showed that the mean decrease in pain score in the Benson relaxation intervention group was 1.10, while the mean decrease in pain score in the control group was 0.44 with a pvalue of 0.00 < 0.05. It was concluded that there was an effect of Benson relaxation on pain in patients with Post Open Reduction Internal Fixation (ORIF) limb fractures. Benson relaxation is effective in reducing pain in patients with post open reduction internal fixation (ORIF) limb fractures. There needs to be a standard operating procedure regarding Benson's relaxation, so that later it can be implemented by all nurses. Keywords: Benson Relaxation, Pain, Fracture, Post ORIF

The population in this study were 46 nurses in the inpatient room of Mas Mansur Building and the Emergency Room of RSU Aminah Blitar. The entire population is used as a sample, namely as many as 46 nurses. Nurse workstress was measured using a questionnaire from DASS-21 (Depression Anxiety Stress Scales_21) and nurse performance was measured using a questionnaire that had been preparedby the researcher.ρ = 0.000). It was concluded that the higher the work stress felt by the nurse, the lower the nurse's performance.

Abstract

The chronic hyperglycemia of diabetes is associated with long-term damage, dysfunction, and failure of different organs. Physical activity is one of the factors that affect glycemic management. This case study aims to maintain the stability of blood sugar levels in DM patients by applying leg exercises. The design of this research is a case report with a nursing process approach carried out on Diabetes Mellitus patients with nursing problems of unstable blood sugar levels. Nursing care was carried out for seven days at the Muhammadiyah Ponorogo General Hospital. The intervention implemented is foot exercises. The results of the case study are presented in the form of nursing documentation. The case study results showed that the patient's blood sugar levels tended to be stable starting on the second day of the intervention.Exercise-induced glycemic control is mostly explained by an increase in whole-body insulin sensitivity. The long-term advantages of frequent exercise on glycemic control appear to be related to the cumulative effect of transitory gains in insulin sensitivity and glycemic control after each bout of exercise, rather than structural changes in insulin sensitivity. Keywords: blood sugar level; diabetes mellitus; foot exercise

This study included descriptive qualitative research exploring the population of this study totaling 4,658 people, then a research sample of 102 respondents was selected, sampling techniques in this study used Non-Probability Sampling with the Convenience Sampling / Accidental Sampling method, samples who were willing to become respondents were then given a stigma questionnaire against puskesmas services during the Covid-19 pandemic. Based on the results of the research conducted, it can be concluded that the results of univariate data analysis to determine whether there is a stigma of the community towards puskesmas services during the Covid-19 pandemic showed that 69 (67.7%) respondents had a negative stigma towards puskesmas services during the Covid-19 pandemic.
