Abstract

The escalating prevalence of intolerance and radicalism within diverse student age cohorts has become a pronounced area of concern. This phenomenon is ostensibly linked to the suboptimal implementation of moderation education in educational institutions. Consequently, the primary objective of this investigation is to scrutinize the application of self-control-based classroom management in Islamic elementary schools as a means of cultivating moderation attitudes among students. The research was executed at an Islamic elementary school in East Java, Indonesia, employing a multifaceted approach encompassing observations, interviews, and documentation for data collection. The analytical framework of Miles and Huberman was adopted for data analysis, with data triangulation serving as a mechanism for ensuring data validity. The instructional strategy employed by the observed school in nurturing moderation attitudes via self-control-based classroom management comprises several pivotal activities. These include student grouping, discouraging the use of sarcasm within the madrasa environment, fostering group discussions, and incentivizing academic achievement. The design of these activities is strategically oriented towards prompting students to manifest self-control across their behavior, cognitive processes, and decision-making while upholding the core values of al-'adl, tawazun, and tasamuh. This research holds substantial significance in its contribution to the enhancement of students' behavioral acumen, cognitive capacities, and decision-making proficiencies. The overarching impact is realized through the instillation of respect for others, the eradication of discriminatory tendencies, and the cultivation of a culture of mutual affection among students.

Abstract

The surge in digital literacy emerged as a prominent trend during the era of online learning in elementary schools. However, the success of connecting the digital environment to the learning process is contingent upon the teacher's proficiency. Consequently, we introduced DEL (Digital Enhanced Learning), an instructional approach that fully integrates digital technology into all learning devices. This study seeks to assess students' digital literacy and creativity during DEL activities in elementary schools conducted over a period of 10 weeks. A total of 290 students participated in the DEL activities. Students' digital literacy and creativity were evaluated using two instruments: DELQ (Digital Enhanced Learning Questionnaire) and CET (Creativity Evaluation Tool). DELQ gauged students' digital literacy, while CET assessed creativity. ANOVA was employed for data analysis to evaluate the consistency and achievement of students. The findings of this study indicate that DEL activities contribute to enhanced creativity, specifically in the aspects of fluency and elaboration. Students' digital literacy plays a pivotal role in supporting the fluency and elaboration processes during learning activities. Moreover, the effectiveness of DEL activities, as perceived through students' digital literacy, indicates an improvement in knowledge related to digital literacy. In summary, this study underscores the positive impact of digital-based activities in fostering both digital literacy and creativity among elementary school students

Abstract

Parents play a crucial role as the primary caregivers and educators of children, each employing their unique parenting style. This research aimed to elucidate the parenting patterns employed by parents in influencing the behavior of children with Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD). The study utilized a qualitative research method with a case study approach, focusing on children diagnosed with ADHD. The data collection process incorporated interviews, observations, and documentary studies. Rigorous data validation is achieved through source triangulation and technique triangulation. The interactive analysis model involves data reduction, presentation, and subsequent conclusion drawing. The research findings reveal that parents of children with ADHD adopt both permissive and authoritarian parenting patterns. Observable parenting behaviors include allowing excessive freedom, maintaining a constant belief in being right, and consistently acquiescing to the desires of the ADHD child. These parenting patterns contribute to the development of dependent behaviors in children, manifesting as an unwillingness to compromise, emotional instability, and involvement in actions detrimental to others.

Abstract

This research endeavours to elucidate the notable disparities in Problem-Solving Skills (PSS) when employing the Flipped Learning Model with a STEM Approach (FLM-SA) in contrast to Routine Learning, contingent upon attitude categories. The study harnesses a quantitative methodology with a quasi-experimental design. A sample size of 210 students is utilised, chosen via cluster random sampling. The instruments for data collection comprise: 1) an attitude questionnaire; 2) problem-solving tests; and 3) an observation sheet for the execution of the learning process. The techniques for data analysis employed are both parametric and non-parametric tests. The findings unveil a significant discrepancy in the students' Problem-Solving Skills based on attitude category between the control group, post the implementation of routine e-learning, and the treatment group, post the utilisation of the FLM-SA Module. Students possessing a Medium Attitude Category in the experimental class exhibit superior problem-solving skills compared to the control class. In contrast, students with Low and High Attitude Categories do not demonstrate a significant difference between the control and experimental classes. These findings underscore the significance of differentiated learning by implementing Teaching at the Right Level. Ideally, teachers should conduct an initial diagnostic assessment to ascertain students' initial attitudes or abilities
