AGRIWITAS JOURNAL is a research journal published in a scientific periodical from the Agribusiness Study Program, Faculty of Agriculture, Wijaya Putra University. The Agriwitas Journal is published twice a year, namely March and September. This journal presents texts in the fields of Agribusiness and Agricultural Social Economics such as Agribusiness Management, Agricultural Policy, Agricultural Economics, Human Resources in the Agribusiness or Agriculture sector, Agricultural Communication and Extension, Agricultural Sociology, as well as science related to the field of Agribusiness. These articles will be published in the Wijaya Putra Surabaya Agribusiness Journal (AGRIWITAS) based on the decision of the Editorial Board and recommendations from peer reviewers.

Abstract

This study aims to determine the cost structure of hydroponic vegetable business in Sonokwijenan village, to determine business revenue and also to determine the advantages and efficiency of hydroponic vegetable business in Sonokwijenan village. The study was conducted from June to July 2020. The results showed that (1) The percentage of total fixed costs to the total cost of each vegetable commodity ranged from 60-71 percent, while the percentage of total variable costs to total costs ranged from 29-38 percent . Fixed costs consist of land rent, nursery greenhouse depreciation, enlargement greenhouse depreciation, irrigation facilities depreciation, equipment depreciation, permanent labor, electricity, distribution. The variable costs incurred consist of daily labor costs, costs for using seeds, rockwool, nutrition, and packaging. The highest fixed cost components are fixed labor costs and distribution costs, while the highest variable cost components are daily labor costs. (2) The calculation of the revenue received by a business is influenced by the selling price of the commodity and the amount that can be sold or the value obtained from the commodity. The largest total revenue obtained by the Sonokwijenan sub-district, Surabaya is kale with a total revenue of 126,350,000. (3) hydroponic water spinach commodity is the most efficient and profitable commodity compared to other hydroponic vegetables with an R/C ratio value of 2.42, this is because kale uses the gravel substrate method which can save more costs.

Abstract

This study aims to determine the costs and revenues of laying hens, internal and external factors that are strengths, weaknesses, opportunities and threats at UD Animal Husbandry Sumber Suko. The analytical method used to find out the weaknesses, strengths, opportunities and threats is a SWOT analysis. And to calculate the amount of business expenses and income using a calculator. From the analysis of the research results, it is known that the cost of laying hens at UD Sumber Suko is Rp. 3,387,052,600.00 per farming period and; the amount of income from laying hens at UD Sumber Suko is Rp. 5,640,420,000.00 per farming period and the income of laying hens at UD Sumber Suko is Rp.2.253,367,400.00. Alternative strategies that can be applied in an effort to develop a laying hens business at UD Sumber Suko are optimizing the potential of natural resources and sanitation of production inputs, labor, disease prevention supported by laying hens that are resistant to climate change.This study uses purposive sampling technique to obtain samples, and the number of samples taken. The population in this study at UD Sumber Suko Farm were all employees who were actively working at UD Sumber Suko Laying Chicken Farm, data collection using questionnaires. The results obtained that the selection of priority strategies at UD Sumber Suko Layer Chicken Farm is to increase market share, improve production quality, carry out effective and targeted promotions, and develop the quality of human resources

Abstract

Citrus fruit is one of the horticultural products that has a high volume of imports, causing local oranges to be slightly defeated. Consumer preferences for local and imported citrus fruits have differences, namely by using Chi-square analysis it is known that consumer preferences for local oranges are greenish yellow with a slightly sour sweet taste, medium fruit size, fresh aroma and have a moderate price. Imported oranges, there are differences in preferences on attributes other than color attributes, because consumers have the same opinion about the orange color in imported oranges. Market segmentation, based on the results of cluster research, has almost the same characteristics and shows that consumers of local and imported oranges are consumers who are still young around 1925 years old, female and male, who are graduates from high school or diploma and still have the status as students, unmarried and with incomes ranging from IDR 500,000 to IDR 2,499,999. The number of members in each family includes the number of small and medium members who usually buy oranges at Giant and Ramayana. Purchases are made erratically as much as 1-2 kg in one purchase.

Abstract

A cooperative is a business entity that uses the principles of kinship and cooperation in its business. The success and progress of Koperasi Produsen Citra Kina Raya, a cooperative name, were not achieved without members’ participation and satisfaction as holders and users (dual identity). The study aimed (1) to analyze the members’ participation, satisfaction, and cooperatives’ performance; (2) to analyze the effect of members’ participation and satisfaction on cooperatives’ performance in Koperasi Produsen Citra Kina Raya. The study was implemented from January to February 2022. This study employed a survey method using a quantitative approach. The sample size was 78 respondents. Data were collected by scoring answers to the instruments research, which are then analyzed statistically to determine the level of participation, satisfaction, and performance and the influence between the variables. The results show that : (1) The level of participation, satisfaction, and performance was classified well with a percentage score of 79,5%, 83,3%, and 86,5%; (2) There is a positive effect and significance between the independent and dependent variables. The study concludes that participation is well caused by the economic and social benefit that members receive, while the members’ satisfaction affects participation and transaction in the cooperative. Suggestions by the authors are that the cooperative should maintain and increase members’ satisfaction through increasing quality service, trust in management, increasing participation in decision making, and hiring the agriculture machine.

Abstract

Welfare is a measuring point for an individual who has achieved a prosperous condition, which is certainly the goal. A study on the contribution of the honey business to the welfare of honey entrepreneurs was carried out from March to April 2022 in Bandar Lampung City. The location selection was determined purposively with the consideration that the Bandar Lampung City was an area where there are many entrepreneurs who develop honey product businesses than in the other surrounding areas. This study aims to determine the contribution of honey business to the household income of honey entrepreneurs in Bandar Lampung City and to determine the level of welfare of honey entrepreneurs' households in Bandar Lampung City. The research method used in this study is a descriptive method with a quantitative approach. The analyzes used include income analysis, expenditure analysis and the level of welfare of honey entrepreneurs. The respondent determination method used in this research is snowball sampling. The results showed that the contribution of honey business income to the household income of honey entrepreneurs in Bandar Lampung City was still relatively low at 19%. This is because most entrepreneurs still make honey business as a side business. The level of household welfare of honey entrepreneurs in Bandar Lampung City is classified as a prosperous condition.
