Abstract

Health education is an effective way to increase teenagers' knowledge about reproductive health and sexually transmitted diseases. Teenagers' permissive attitude toward unrestricted sexual conduct is backed by their low awareness about adolescent reproductive health. This article aims to determine educational programs in preventing sexually transmitted diseases. This article uses qualitative methods through a literature review approach. The data in this research are articles from Google Scholar sourced from journals published in 2022 and 2023, with the authors from Indonesia and Malaysia. The results found that many teenagers were sexually active, although not always of their own free will. In some developing countries, about half of them are married. Irresponsible early sexual activity puts teenagers at risk of various reproductive health education challenges. The conclusion is based on the results of the analysis of this literature review. Adolescents' awareness of the dangers of unsafe sexual behavior has increased, indicating the effectiveness of preventive messages. The education program has succeeded in involving the community, including parents, teachers, and other interested parties, in supporting efforts to prevent sexually transmitted diseases among adolescents. The contribution of this research is to provide an overview of the educational programs in preventing sexually transmitted diseases and provide information on the evil influence of sexually transmitted diseases on adolescents.

Abstract

The bibliometric analysis of publications connected to nursing education methods and digital media is still restricted. Thus, there needs to be more understanding of practices and concepts. This study aims to determine the trend in publications and visualization of nursing learning techniques and digital media. The bibliometric method with policy-related scientific publication data from 2017 to 2024 uses a VOS viewer. The publications evaluated came from the Google Scholar database: 200 articles, 13 from Scopus, and 14 from PubMed. The literature search was conducted online in March 2024 using keywords: knowledge, skill, and digital education. The articles were downloaded in RIS format and processed with a VOS viewer to visualize and analyze patterns in bibliometrics. VOS viewer can generate network, overlay, and density visualization maps. Following analysis by the VOS viewer software, 8 clusters were identified in mapping all themes (light purple, brown, orange, Tosca, purple, yellow, blue, green, and red). The clusters demonstrated a link between one issue and another. The thickness of the connecting line indicated the strength of pairs of topic areas or keywords. The mapping results presented above reveal the number of terms and other term associations associated with digital education. Future academics can develop themes that have yet to be explored by considering the density of topics offered and paying regard to duty and ethics in education. This research contributes to providing information on the use and implementation of technology in nursing education in the digital era.

Abstract

Providing effective supervision and evaluation for student teachers during their teaching practice is a significant challenge in developing countries with geographically dispersed placements. This research investigates the impact of distance on supervision and explores alternative supervisory strategies for student teachers at Evangelical Presbyterian University College, Ghana. Utilizing a mixed-methods approach, the study combined an online survey of 100 student teachers with in-depth interviews and observational data. The survey revealed that 55% of respondents experienced difficulties in regular supervisory observations, 60% felt less supported due to physical separation, and 60% reported limited in-person feedback. Interviews highlighted resource constraints and the potential of technology-mediated supervision. Observations of WhatsApp-based supervision sessions demonstrated enhanced communication and real-time feedback, though underscored the need for clear guidelines. The findings suggest that while distance negatively impacts supervision quality, innovative solutions like WhatsApp can mitigate these effects, provided structured protocols are in place. This study emphasizes the importance of integrating technology to enhance teacher education in resource-constrained settings, ultimately improving the teaching practice experience for student teachers. This research contributes information about geographic barriers and the role of technology in helping to create a more inclusive and effective supervision environment for student teachers.
