Abstract

Handling the Covid-19 pandemic can be assisted by a cultural approach as disease and culture are two related things, disease is often caused by culture or in other words, disease can occur due to certain cultures that exist in social life. In addition, the disease can have a socio-cultural effect. Thus, socio-cultural factors generally affect efforts to control and prevent Covid-19 disease. In addition, the involvement of the family in the control and prevention of Covid-19 is very important, in addition to controlling the transmission, it also stabilizes the control of the spread of the virus. The aim of this study was to identify the influence of culture on the prevention of Covid-19 in the family. This study used an associative analytical design through a transversal approach. The population consisted of all families affected by the Covid-19 case in South Kalimantan. Bivariate data were analyzed with chi-squared and multivariate with multiple logistic regression. There was a relationship between sex, education, marriage, occupation, income and distance from health services with the prevention of covid 19 in the family (ρ <0.05), and there is a shared influence between gender, education, marriage and work on the prevention of covid 19 in the family (ρ <0.05). It is up to the community to redouble its efforts to prevent covid 19 disease in the family, so it is necessary to take a cultural approach to prevent covid 19 in the family.

Abstract

Chronic hyperglycemia in clients with diabetes mellitus will cause long-term damage, namely dysfunction or failure of organs such as eyes, kidneys, nerves, heart and blood vessels. Therefore, reflexology on the soles of the feet is become one of the complementary therapies that has no side effects. The research design used pre-experimental approach with a one group pretest-posttest design. The data analysis was divided into two, namely univariate analysis by frequency distribution and bivariate analysis by paired sample t-test. The results showed that there was a difference in the points of before and after treatment as much as 36.15 points. There was an effect between reflexology treatment before and after as much as 0.0001 < 0.05. Reflexology could respond the hypothalamus, activated the Hypothalamus-Pituitary-Adrenal AXIS, and produced corticotropin releasing factor (CRF) hormone which stimulated the pancreas to increase insulin synthesis. One of the receptors on target cells, namely the glucose transporter (GLUT 4) which functioned to bring glucose into cells and accelerated the use of glucose which resulted in lower blood glucose levels. Reflexology can be done by oneself and has no side effects.

Abstract

The incidence of anemia is common in adolescent girls. Anemia causes decreased learning achievement due to lack of concentration. This research aimed to analyze the determinant factors associated with the incidence of anemia in female students at Islamic Boarding School Al Hidayah 2 Bangkalan. The research was observational analytic, a cross sectional design. The population was female students at Islamic Boarding School Al Hidayah 2 and the sample size was 72 people. The independent variables include menstrual patterns, sleep patterns, consumption patterns of food sources of iron and nutritional status. The dependent variable was anemia status. Data collection on menstrual patterns and sleep patterns used a questionnaire, consumption patterns with the Food Frequency Questionnaire and anemia status by testing hemoglobin levels. Analysis of the data by Contingency Coefficient test. The results showed that 27.8% of subjects experienced menorrhagia, 54.2% had poor sleep patterns, 58.3% had good food consumption patterns, 25.0% had underweight nutritional status, and 13.9% subjects experienced anemia. Correlation tests showed that the menstrual pattern was significantly related to anemia status (p=0.048). Sleep pattern (p=0.776), food consumption pattern (p=0.908) and nutritional status (p=0.462) were not significantly correlated with the incidence of anemia. Menstrual pattern is the most influential factor of anemia incidence.  The longer of menstrual period will cause the greater the chance of the subject experiencing anemia.

Abstract

CKD patients have kidney damage and their function is replaced using hemodialysis. An indicator of the success of hemodialysis patients in managing fluids is control weight gain, known as Interdialytic Weight Gain (IDWG). The purpose of this study was to determine the correlation of long term hemodialysis and Inter Dyalisis Weight Gain (IDWG) in CKD Patients. Correlation analytic research design with a cross-sectional approach. The population in this study were all patients undergoing hemodialysis at RSU Dr. Soeroto Ngawi. Sampling technique consecutive sampling. The sample in this study amounted to 42 people. The research instrument used an observation sheet. Data analysis using Spearman Rho test. The results showed that most of the respondents underwent hemodialysis < 12 months, namely 26 people (62%), for hemodialysis 3-4 hours, 42 respondents (100%), and most of the respondents experienced IDWG which could not be tolerated, namely 30 people (71.5%). The results of the Spearman Rho test showed that p-value = 0.000 so that H1 was accepted, meaning that there was a correlation between the length of time undergoing hemodialysis and duration of HD with Interdyalitic Weight Gain (IDWG) at Dr. Soeroto Ngawi General Hospital, meaning that the longer you undergo hemodialysis, the lower the IDWG value or the more tolerated the IDWG value. It is expected that patient seek as much information as possible from health workers, especially regarding fluid restriction diets and related to increasing IDWG so that fluid intake is more controlled, trying to control food and drinks so that fluid intake is maintained and IDWG can be tolerated.

Abstract

The increasing cases of diabetes mellitus significantly from year to year increase the burden on society and the government, because it requires time, cost and technology in handling. This disease can be controlled if the symptoms are detected early. The purpose of this research was to determine the correlation between the results of early detection using self-detection application for diabetes (SEDAB) with hemoglobin A1C (HbA1C) levels. The research was carried out on June 2022. The research was a correlative research with a cross sectional approach. The population was the people of the Mojoroto Kediri village. The samples were taken with consideration of a minimum sample of 30 respondents with simple random sampling technique. The instrument used to assess the level of symptoms of diabetes mellitus was the SEDAB application. Diabetes Mellitus category was assessed through the observation sheet of laboratory examination results Hemoglobin A1C (HbA1C. The data analysis used the Spearman Rank test. The test results with the Spearman rank test showed a p-value of = 0.000. This meant that there was a correlation between the level of diabetes mellitus symptoms results detection with Self Detection Application for Diabetic (SEDAB) with diabetes mellitus level based on HBA1c examination results. It is important for health workers to expand the scope of early detection of diabetes mellitus by promoting independent early detection using an effective and efficient diabetes mellitus early detection instrument, namely the SEDAB application which easy to access and use.
