Abstract

High school textbooks on literary facing serious problem, namely its curriculum didn’t have clear paradigm and political-cultural basis. Its content is still subjectively-based on writer taste and still circling on technical matter. Therefore, literary lesson look like structural and cognitive memorizing. Old assumption that literary is a matter of “esthetical art” that haven’t connection with life reality is still dominant. Lesson content like this should be changed, by formulate or identifying several cultural problems in Indonesia. Based on that formulation and problems identification, literary lesson’s contents packed to understand culture problems in Indonesia, therefore learning literary not only literary itself, but also become a textual ideological strategy that having vision and mission to developing Indonesia.

Abstract

The essence of literary learning is appreciation, and that only can be realized if teacher and student read those literary works. There’s numerous literary works around the world, especially traditional literary works like legends and folktales. Why those literary treasures have been abandoned by literary learning at school? Therefore, teachers must show their faith and bravery to deliver learning matters that they feel good, appropriate, and joyful. In curriculum, KTSP (unit-learning curriculum) have give freedom to translate the Standard of competence and Basic Competence. There’s local content and matters that appropriate with local social-cultural condition?

Abstract

One of crucial pictures of our education recently is expensive education expense. This happen parallel with pragmatism mental on every side of social life. Commercialization and capitalism often become cause of human values destruction that actually should to be preserved by education. Therefore, we have to do awareness movement to change attitude and action of education’s actor. BHP and BHMN (State’s owner legal institution) status, that giving autonomy to education institution to raise fund from community shouldn’t accentuate commercialization of education at school or campus. Its also prevail on entrepreneurial university that its network source from global market capitalism expansion. School and campus must revitalize its public and humanity responsibility to independent, quality, creative, and responsible human. According to Kuntowijoyo, education task and responsibility is on humanizing human (humanization) effort, liberation, and spiritualizing human (transcendent).

Abstract

At high-school vocational education, literary lesson didn’t have yang proper portion. This is a serious problem, if education wishes to build nation character by humanizing human. The problem at vocational education is, at its 2004’s curriculum that Indonesian language lesson fully directed to one direction, namely using utilizing right and roper Indonesian language to communicate at work. Therefore, it’s the time for government and education department to reformulate or revitalize the real education goal, by equalizing all matters and lesson even if that lesson didn’t tested at national test (UN). Teacher also must apply curriculum with flexibility and wise, because curriculum inst a sacred text that annul interpretation and difference on its realization.

Abstract

Family is a tiny scope that will bring someone to social life. The fine social order influenced by condition of every family inside it, because society is an accumulation and reflection of lifestyle, world view, even way of thinking of every individual in a family. Good or worse community at social life is depending on family condition. Family is playing important role to direct children to become good moral generation on and beneficial for society. Abstract

Islamic higher college not only limited to higher education that famous at Islamic history like madrasah (e.g. Nizamiyah), and al-Jami’ah (e.g. al-Azhar). Yet, Islamic higher college is the implementation of learning process that can be categorized in higher education stage, that being practiced in Moslem society, even still in non-formal or informal form before madrasah existence. Several epistemologies branch indeed take place at formal institution, while some epistemologies branch theoretically applied at formal institution, but it’s practiced at non-formal institutions. These non-formal institutions were still reflecting Islamic higher education level.

Abstract

Learning strategy is a teacher effort to create environment system that enable student to learn, or choice of teacher-student activity pattern at learning process. There are several different strategies, but only at its accentuation, namely as abstract conception thought versus its operation on three activity i.e. pre-instructional, instructional, and evaluation. As criteria to choose learning strategy there are: learning goal, skill at lesson, media being used, evaluation system, and student as subject and teacher as implementer.

Abstract

There is still a notion stated by some students that English language is difficult and bored It is like a big monster which has always to be avoided, moreover it is to be one of the National Final Examination materials, English can make them upset dan frustrate. Why do the students sill have an opinion like this? The answer is that the teachers still use, in teaching English, traditional method and strategy which are unapropriate to the students’ demand. Poem as a material of teaching is, according to the writer, considered as a method which can increase students’ interest in studying English. Because the teaching will run in a joyful atmosphere, there is no burden on students’ shoulders

Abstract

Anti-discriminatory practicioners in many campuses have, so far, focused themselves too much on gender. In fact, there are more than one source of discrimination and oppression. One of them is ableism. Ableism is an ism that categorizes people by seeing their organs of body. For it, people can be divided into two groups. Those are the able and the disable. The able is a group of people who are “normal” in term of their organs of body. Conversely, the disable is a group of people who are “abnormal”in term of those. The categorization leads to discriminatory acts and views of “normal” people to the disable. One of Requirements of enrolling to schools or jobs is that the candidate should be physically and spiritually healthy. This condition makes many “disable” people eliminated from the competition. In order to combat the discrimination, one of the ideas is exchanging the term disable/disability with diffable/diffability. Another idea is inclusive education. That is an education system which put the diffable and the non-diffable in one class. This system is very effective for combatting discrimination and campaigning democracy and equality in life.
