Abstract

Hypertension is a risk factor for cardiovascular disease that often occurs without symptoms. In general, people do not know that he was suffering from hypertension. New symptoms arise after a complication occurs in organs such as kidneys, eyes, brain, heart. Because it does not cause symptoms, hypertension is also known as the silent killer or killers in disguise (Hans Pwolf,1994). High blood pressure is also influenced by behavioral factors ie poor diet such as sodium consuming more resources, especially the excessive salt causes the sodium in the liquid increases. Increasing the volume of fluid causes increased blood volume rises, so the impact on the incidence of hypertension. (Smith, 1988). The results of the household health survey in 1995 showed the prevalence of hypertensive disease in Indonesia is quite high at 83 per 1000 member households ranged from 1.8 to 28.6%. (Hull Alllison, 2001)The prevalence of hypertension in Tugurejo Hospital in January-December 2010 wasranked one of the top 10 diseases, with a number of 6504 patients. This study aims to find out about the consumption patterns of food sources of sodium in hypertensive patients in a hospital outpatient tugurejo Semarang. The samples obtained are 40 samples which are all eligible: Age of patients ranged 33-80 years, berdominisili in Semarang and the patient can take berkomunikasi.Jenis data collected is of primary and secondary data. Primary data include sodium consumption data by semi-quantitative food frequency and eating habits. Secondary data includes the data base name, age, sex, blood pressure taken from medical records. The results of the study were mostly (62.5%) samples were aged 45-60 years, most of the sexes (67.5%) samples were women 27 people, mostly the kind of work (45.0%) samples were housewives 18 people . Most of the samples with Na intake (2000-4000 mg) as many as32 people, and hypertension category were as many as 27 people. Most (65.0%) samples in systolic blood pressure (category average) as many as 26 people, majority (77.5%) samples in diastolic blood pressure (category average) as many as 31 people. Most of the samples stilluse MSG flavor enhancer, salt, and tofu, the frequency of consumption of sodium sources most 1-3 times per day.Keyword : hypertension, natrium intake, cardiovascular diseases

Abstract

Rising and descending children under five number who suffered growth obstacle could seen soon within short time (month) and could further research immediately what caused of it, and made design in order to take the action to overcome it as soon as possible. Growth advancement barrier of children weight observe could seen within growth curve of periodicalmeasurement result recorded and provide within KMS. One of success Posyandu program especially includes baby number and children under five who have KMS were influenced by Posyandu cadre’s role. Knowledge and cadre skill not could increase only but also descending. This case could occur because cadre less active therefore forget about mattershave been learned therefore their knowledge were descending. The high of knowledge level and cadre skill were influence by formal education, cadre course, frequency to participating within program, being active of cadre within Posyandu and their length being the cadre. Aimof this research was to found the knowledge and length period of job relationship by cadre skill in order to valuated children under five growth curve on Posyandu. This research was analytical survey type by crossectional method. This research carried out at Posyandu of Tegalsari, Candisari Subdistrict, Semarang city, from January 2011 to July 2011 about 35 cadres of posyandu on Posyandu of Tegalsari, CandisariSubdistrict, Semarang about 35 cadres. All of population unit were investigated. Sample within this research was using nonprobability sampling it was collection technique of population member to elected to be the sample. This sample technique was saturated sampling it was sample determination technique when all of population member used as the sample. Research result showed that about 48,6% of knowledge level cadre were good, 37,1% have been length being posyandu cadre about 16-20 years, whereas skill cadre in valuated children under five growth curve about 25,7%. There were no relationship between time period of work being the cadre with cadre skill in valuated children under five growth curve (p-value = 0,959), but found presence relationship of cadre knowledge level with cadre skill in valuating children under five growth curve (p-value = 0,001). Cadre in carried out posyandu activities expected could change assignment therefore within Posyandu, cadre ability in weigh, record and giving information could carried out by all of cadres and expected for cadre to be able within all of that sectors. Keywords: Knowledge, Period of work, Skill, Children under five, Cadre, Posyandu

Abstract

Diabetes mellitus is a disease characterized by an increase in glucose / blood sugar (hyperglikemi) due to chronic reduction or absence of insulin (Iqbal, 1996). That central obesity is one of the factors that influence the incidence of type 2 diabetes. Excessive fat deposits in the body can cause insulin resistance that affect blood sugar levels of people with diabetes mellitus (Waspadji, 2004). BMI is one way to determine the nutritional status is used to determine whether a person is obese or not. BMI has nothing to do with blood sugar levels with DM (Hartono, 2006). The general objective of this study was to determine the relationship between Body Mass Index (BMI) with blood sugar levels of type 2 diabeticpatients. This type of research is the explanation of research in the field of clinical nutrition. The method used is survey method with cross sectional approach. The study population was all patients with type 2 diabetes mellitus in the hospital outpatient clinic of Internal Medicine Tugurejo Semarang. Data collected at the outpatient patient in June-July 2011. Samples were taken as many as 37 people who meet the inclusion criteria. Types of data collected is the primary data and secondary data. Analysis of the data used is the univariate analysis to determine the frequency distribution characteristics of the sample, Kolmogorov Smirnov testto determine normality of data, and Spearman test rating to determine the relationship between two variables is the dependent variable and independent variables. Results showed that the characteristics of patients with diabetes mellitus are mostly women (78.4%). The biggest age group in the age group 46-60 years (73%). Education is the largest school graduate school / vocational high (24.3%). Most jobs are housewives (59.5%). Most of the value of IMT in the group from 25 to 29.9 (51.4%). Blood sugar levels during most of> 200mg/dl (70.3%). Statistical analysis showed no relationship between values of BMI with blood sugar levels of type 2 diabetic patients with p value 0.000 (<0.05) and r = 0.201.In conclusion the higher value of IMT with diabetes mellitus type 2 the higher the blood sugar levels. Keywords: Diabetes Mellitus, Body Mass Index, blood sugar levels.
