Abstract

Various kinds of international sporting events have been held in different branches and scales such as Olympics, Asian games, Football World Cup, Formula 1, Formula E and so on. Of the various kinds of international sporting events that exist, countries in the world compete with each other for positions as organizers. However, with the development of globalization, state is no longer the only actor competing to become the organizer of international sporting events. Currently, the regional government of a country is also competing to become the organizer of international sporting events, as is the case with the DKI Jakarta Provincial Government in collaboration with FEO to organize Formula E Jakarta. The foreign cooperation relationship carried out by DKI Jakarta Provincial Government and FEO in the context of organizing Formula E Jakarta itself is an example of paradiplomacy. This research aims to describe the process of paradiplomacy carried out by DKI Jakarta Provincial Government with FEO related to the implementation of Formula E using the concept of paradiplomacy and political system theory. This research uses a qualitative research approach with a descriptive type of research. The results of this research indicate that the paradiplomacy carried out by DKI Jakarta Provincial Government can be successful because of serious preparation and negotiation, as well as the common vision with FEO.

Since Jacinda Ardern's period as a prime minister in New Zealand, the country has contrasted climate change policy with the previous prime minister. Ardern's concern about climate change leads New Zealand to change the countries' diplomatic relations and add its foreign aid to the Pacific Islands countries. New Zealand's orientation and concern for the regional climate change crisis show a shift in Jacinda Ardern's leadership with her predecessor. This research aims to answer the research question: "Why does New Zealand actively participate in Pacific Island's climate change crisis during Jacinda Ardern Presidency?". This study aims to explain the role of Jacinda Ardern's ideas in shaping the climate change policy in the Pacific Islands. This research is explanative research using the desk research method. Abstract

The educational crisis experienced by Rohingya refugee children in Bangladesh became even more difficult when a new flow of refugees arrived in 2017. The Bangladeshi government did not pay more attention towards the crisis, putting it into the international spotlight and causing UNICEF as an international organization to attempt and solve the problem. The purpose of this study is to explain UNICEF's attempt in spreading the norms of children's education rights towards the refugee children in Bangladesh. This study will use three concepts of conceptual thinking, namely the concept of Norm Diffusion, the concept of International Organization and the concept of Humanitarian Action with qualitative research methods and descriptive analytical research types. The results of the study show that UNICEF attempts to spread the norms of the right to education for Rohingya refugee children through a number of different programs, such as the launch of the LCFA program, the launch of the Myanmar curriculum in 2020 in collaboration with the Bangladesh government for the education of Rohingya refugee children.

Abstract

Indonesia is a country that does not hesitate to accept and provide treatment for refugees and asylum seekers who come from various countries, including the very large number of migrants from Afghanistan. This policy was implemented by the Indonesian government even though Indonesia has no legal obligation, still has domestic problems, and the assistance provided by IOM to deal with refugees is getting smaller. Through this research, the author will analyze the background of the Indonesian government's policy to receive and provide treatment for refugees and asylum seekers from Afghanistan. In analyzing this issue, the author will use the perspective of cosmopolitanism with data analysis techniques using the congruent method. The results show that Indonesia accepts and provides treatment for refugees and asylum seekers from Afghanistan because Indonesia wants to fight for the rights of all migrants from Afghanistan because all human beings are part of one humanitarian community regardless of their affiliation.

Abstract

ABSTRACT2016 Abu Dhabi Declaration on Safeguarding Endangered Cultural Heritages is a historic site protection regime that focuses on areas of military conflict, especially the Middle East region. Focusing on France and Egypt as representatives of the initiator and participant countries, researchers sought to look at the country's position and response to the declaration, from its formation to post-signing developments to see the impact of the declaration on the issue of protecting historical sites in areas of military conflict, in particular through state analysis. Researchers used qualitative methods with case studies. This research uses literature studies to support the necessary data. Researchers use the international regime theory of Stephen D Krasner. The results showed that the 2016 Abu-Dhabi Declaration met the characteristics of the regime. However, the significance of the declaration has not been able to be seen given its morally binding nature and the limited situation of the relevant state interests and policies that result in the impact on the protection of historic sites has not been able to occur to the fullest. Although not legally binding, the declaration remains a guideline of values on which participating countries' commitments and progress are based on the issue of protecting historic sites in areas of long-term military conflict in the Middle-East Region. Keywords : national interest, role, regime, declaration, military conflict, historical sites

Abstract

The shift in the fashion world which is increasingly popular has prompted a Spanish company, Inditex, to implement a fast fashion work model. This work model is then implemented by Inditex through investment and technology transfer to developing countries such as Bangladesh. However, this work model is prone to labor exploitation and actually creates dependence and backwardness for Bangladesh itself. This research will use Dependency Theory. The method used in this study is a qualitative research with data collection techniques used is the literature study method. So this study tries to prove that the work model that Inditex runs actually creates state dependence and underdevelopment of garment workers in Bangladesh. The result of this research is that Inditex actually maintains Bangladesh's dependence on the fashion company, Inditex's actions are full of injustice but on the other hand Bangladesh needs foreign capital assistance from Inditex to help thecountry's economy.

Abstract

Technological developments have brought world civilization to a time where everything relies heavily on technology. This development greatly affects all aspects of human life. We can see this from the daily life of humans who are very dependent on the digital world and the internet. The use of the digital world can be seen in vital aspects such as the world of banking, transactions, even in the creative industry. The use of NFT as a way for creative industry activists is a new way to gain and appreciate the work they produce. Aspects that are affected, not only make it easier for humans to do work, but the development of this technology is also used as a gap by criminals to commit crimes. Money laundering crimes and terrorism financing are no longer carried out conventionally, but have penetrated into the digital world. This study aims to find loopholes in the use of NFT as a medium in committing money laundering and terrorism financing crimes, and why it can become a national threat if there is no securitization of the issue. This study uses constructivism theory with the concept of securitization. This study also found that the anonymity feature in NFT transactions can make it easier for criminals to commit money laundering and terrorism financing crimes that can threaten the national security of a country.

Abstract

UK is one of the countries that requires wood for the purpose of using both for structural and non-structural buildings. The high demand for wood has forced UK to ask Indonesia to continue to supply its wood needs. However, illegal logging has become a problem for the forestry sector in Indonesia which has caused many losses, ranging from the unstable timber market industry, the deteriorating economy, and the increasingly unsustainable state of the forest. This made the UK formulate a foreign policy for Indonesia by creating a cooperation scheme through the Multistakeholder Forestry Program. Based on this, the author aims to explain the UK's interest in establishing cooperation with Indonesia through the Multistakeholder Forestry Program in combating Illegal Logging. This paper will focus to explain and analyze the cooperation formed between UK and Indonesia in minimizing the illegal timber trade. This study uses qualitative methods with data collection through secondary sources. This study uses the theory of Neoclassical Realism by looking at the internal and external factors of the UK. The results of this study indicate that the cooperation between the UK and Indonesia has been able to improve forest governance in Indonesia and the UK can easily obtain legal and safe timber. Keywords: Illegal Logging, Cooperation, MFP, Indonesia, UK.

Abstract

The revocation of Article 370 regarding the Special Autonomy Rights for the Kashmir Region which was controlled by India on August 5, 2019 then had a terrible impact, namely human rights violations against the Kashmiri population. India's revocation of Article 370 is the right step to fix various problems in the region and convince the world that the Kashmir issue is a purely Indian domestic problem that does not need to be interfered with by any party. However, Pakistan felt this move was arbitrary, until Pakistan showed a firm reaction through diplomatic and military options. To find out whether Pakistan's actions can be considered as acts of humanitarian intervention, this study seeks to answer them using one of the theories in the Three Grotian Theories, namely Fiduciary Theory. The use of this theory is used to see Pakistan's efforts in its efforts to carry out humanitarian intervention from diplomatic options to gather support and permission from the UN Security Council, as well as the possibility of its implementation through military options while meeting the demands of the Kashmiri insurgents with a focus on upholding human rights in Kashmir which has been seized by India.
