Abstract

Indonesia has been known to have abundant natural resources and culture-based creative industries. The country is therefore vulnerable to the practice of fraud of origin. One of many industrial sectors susceptible to thatparticular crime is the wooden furniture businesses. In many cases, it is apparent that natural products and raw materials of Indonesia are being exported without listing the country as the place of origin. The most commonIndonesian material falls within this illegal practice are timber products. In the province of Central Java, Jepara has been a prominent center of timber industry producing high quality timber products and wooden raw materials. From a unique standpoint, the timber industry in Jepara is deeply rooted to the culture and identity of the natives, making the attempt to separate the discussion between timber industry and the people of Jepara not only  imprudent but virtually impossible. By looking at the statistic in which Jepara’s public education level is assessed to be still below the national standard, and as well bearing to the general fact that the timber actors in Jepara are more focused on product sales rather than important technical aspects such as certification of origin, it should be projected that crimes such as fraud of origin could be easily committed in Jepara. This study is using a comparative advantage theory and theories or models of H-O to investigate how the practice of fraud of origin in Jepara occurs and how to resolve such problem.

What is the obstacle that holds the Sister Province program in Central Java with the Queensland in farm sector? How is the prospect of Sister Province program in Central Java with the Queensland in farm sector? This result of this research is to prove that the implementation of Sister Province program in Central Java with the Queensland in farm sectors is not effective.  Some of the implementation variables of this program have not been fulfilled.Communication, financial resources and bureaucracy structure are some of the variables that have weakness on this program.  Act of Internal Affairs  (Permendagri) Number. 03/2008, about equality in administration status, equivalent characteristics and problems has not been notice.  The absence of a good authority in animal husbandry department and in the province of Central Java for the procurement of imported cows had influence this issues. The authority lies in the central government through the Ministry of Agricultural.

Abstract

The aim of this research is to find out why Japan still continue their whaling program, even though the previous program was banned. Moratorium of whaling for commercial purpose was signed in 1986 by member states of International Whaling Commission. The next year after the moratorium, Japan launched scientific research program named Japanese Whale Research Program under Special Permit in the Antarctic (JARPA). The second research program which is named JARPA II was banned by International Court of Justice due to violations of some articles on International Convention for Regulation of Whaling. After the banned, Japan is back on doing scientific whaling program. This research is done by using explanatory method, using qualitative analysis technique through accumulating primary and secondary data. Based on green political theory, environmental security, and ecological crime, the main reason why Japan still continue their whale research program is culture. This culture starts to disappear when whaling moratorium was signed. Government of Japan created several policies to address this issue. Supports Institute of Cetacean research for whale research and launched campaign activities to reintroduce whale culture for the people. These evidence proof that culture is the main motive on why Japan still continue their whale research program.

To stop this illegal activity, Nigeria governmentunder President Jonathan has made several measurements. These measurements remainunable to stop or limiting this illegal activity. Analyzing the interaction inside the oil-theftnetwork, and the movement of the stolen oil on value added chain, one of the main factorsthat drive this activity is the rent-seeking behavior. Rent-seeking behavior raises andparalyzing on many countries with resource curse environment. Abstract

Human trafficking was born as a form of modern slavery in this century. This crime is committed by traffickers using false promises and forms of coercion that force victims to work forcefully. In recent years, Mexico has been listed as a transit country and a supplier of trafficking victims. The United States is here as one of the countries that initiated the Antitrafficking policy. The Trafficking and Violence Protection Act of 2000 (TVPA) is a law made by the United States as an initial step to combat human trafficking. This thesis seeks to explain and analyze TVPA policy in Mexico-United States using Policy Theory and Concepts of National Interest with the aim of providing an understanding of the objectives of this TVPA policy. The analysis that was built sourced from sources in the form of reports, journals, books and other sources of literature that can support the writer's argument in this analysis. Based on data processed using selected theories, the United States built this policy as a security measure from the Mexican state that brought outbreaks of human trafficking to the United States and also to gain influence from other countries in combating human trafficking.

This research aims to explain the obstacles of HRD program by IMT-GT in reducing thepoverty in Aceh. Various effort had been made to reduce poverty in Aceh. One of them wasthe IMT-GT (Indonesia-Malaysia-Thailand Growth Triangle) as a sub-regionalcooperation. However, through the HRD (Human Resources Development) program aimsto reduce poverty and improve the quality of life, is not effective either. This research usedqualitative methods, with neo-functionalism theory to prove the hypothesis. The result ofthis research found out that the ineffectiveness of IMT-GT HRD program was caused bythe failure of IMT-GT to create good regional integration and the failure of HRD to workon spillover scheme.
