The Development of Islamic knowledge cannot be obtained using western empiricism and rationalism epistemology. Althougth have been considered as the pillar of modern science, substantially, both are different, even they are in compatible with the knowledge in islam. It means that we need to find our own epistemology that goes in accordance with Islam. Related to this, al Farabi and Ibn Rusyd have tried to find the way out although there are still many weaknesses in it.According to Al Farabi, the xsource of the knowledge is active intellect, while ibnu Rusyd said that it comes from reaity and God’s revelation. To get it we have to do many abstractions using demonstrative method. Related to the ratio, Al. farabi used active intellect theory while Ibnu Rusyd preferred the concept of “Inayah”. Using this theory, Al Farabi tried together religion and philosophy into the concept, while Ibn Rusyd let them to be two different things that complete each other.Kata Kunci: Sumber pengetahuan, cara memperoleh pengetahuan, dan hubungan antara wahyu dan rasio

Lately, many people appraise that Islamic Colleges, both state and private, have failed in developing their vision and mission to produce intellectual students. Even, they also believe that Islamic Colleges have lost their base cultural character and become the “westernization agent” of their students. However, there are still many dauntless Islamic Colleges that use “cultural” as their trade mark. The aim of this research is to explain the management of boarding school in Islamic College viewed from its objective, its structural relationship with the college and also its activities and moral values. Using symbolic of phenomenological-interaction approach, the research shows that there are varied methods of boarding school management that are aimed to support the college in educating the students from the aspects of intellectual, moral, spiritual, and language ability. It is also found that there are two models of relationship between boarding school and college. First, college considered as a boarding school back up, like in ISID Gontor. And second, boarding school considered as college back up, like in UIN Malang.The activities in boarding school are varied and have to be done by all students, this kind of activity comes from central command, however, there are also local activities managed by the students that are done by some students only.The moral values developed in boarding school are: spiritual, moral, professional, sincerity, autonomy, simplicity, Islamic fraternity, and freedom.Kata Kunci: PTAI, Pesantren Kampus, Islam Kultural

Religion, in this case Islam is the main motivation in constructing ethos of work and directing business behavior of businessmen. In Indonesia, Madura and Minangkabau ethnic are known as obedient Moslem, hard workers, tough and zealous businessmen who do business in informal sector. So far, the business behavior of both ethnics is not really well-known, therefore we conduct the research to know more about their business behavior viewed from the perspective of ethics in Malang. There are two aspects studied in this research. First, is the meaning of business ethic according to both ethnics, and second, is the implementation in the relationship between businessmen, the service to the consumer, and their attitude toward environment. The data are taken through thorough interview, involved observation, and documentation, and then studied using phenomenological method and analyzed with three phases as Miles and Hubermas states, they are data reduction, data display, and conclusion drawing/verification. The research shows that both ethnics give the same meaning to the ethic of business. To them, business is a part of religious service so that to get good wealth they have to give priority to the value of ethics. Both ethnics believe that that competition is a usual thing in business, all sides are required to obey the value of ethics. They try to be fair and transparent to the consumers, also, they care their environment because they have social responsibility as the compensation to the society that has become their consumers.Kata kunci : Agama, Perilaku Bisnis, Makna Etika Bisnis, Sektor Informal, Etnis Madura, Etnis Minangkabau

Dilandasi oleh dasar pemikiran bahwa karya sastra bisa jadi merupakan ekspresi dari imajinasi, pikiran, keinginan, dan pengalaman hidup pengarang; bahwa pengarang bisa menciptakan sebuah alegori dari karya yang ditulisnya; dan bahwa dengan melihat pengalaman hidup pengarangnya, Salman Rushdie, bisa jadi Haroun and the Sea of Stories merupakan alegorinya tentang Khomeini; studi ini dilakukan dengan tujuan untuk mencari jawab apakah Haroun and the Sea of Stories memang merupakan alegori yang diciptakan oleh Salman Rushdie untuk mengungkap pemasungan hak kebebasan berekspresi yang dilakukan oleh Khomeini. Dengan menggunakan pendekatan ekspresif, studi kritik sastra ini menghasilkan sebuah temuan bahwa tokoh antagonis, Khattam-Shud, yang digambarkan sebagai tokoh yang membenci cerita, merupakan representasi dari Khomeini mengingat apa yang telah dilakukannya terhadap Rushdie. Khomeini telah memasung hak berekspresi Rushdie dengan fatwa mati yang dikeluarkannya karena terbitnya novel The Satanic verses karya Rushdie. Tema novel mengarah pada pemasungan hak berekspresi yang berakibat pada rusaknya peradaban. Analisis tokoh menunjukkan adanya persamaan penggambaran karakter antara tokoh dalam novel dan tokoh dalam realitas. Penggambaran setting menunjukkan kontras yang sangat ekstren antara wilayah yang penduduknya sangat menghargai kebebasan berbicara yang digambarkan dengan sangat positif dan wilayah yang penduduknya mengekang kebebasan berbicara yang digambarkan dengan sangat negatif. Hasil analisis mengarah pada simpulan bahwa novel Haroun and the Sea of Stories memang merupakan alegori yang diciptakan oleh Rushdie tentang pemasungan hak berekspresi yang dilakukan oleh Khomeini.Kata Kunci: Allegory, expressive approach, violation, the right to freedom of expression

Research on artificial intelligence to identify its pattern is conducted more frequent as it is also needed more. In this research, sampling of artificial intelligence is made to identify the pattern of electrocardiography image to classify the image of normal and abnormal heart. Electrocardiography signal used is received through offline system. The introduction of this pattern uses “feed-forward back propagation network”. The extraction of EKG image is done through Swift Fourier Transformation (FFT) by using primary component analysis to reduce data dimension. One of approaches in comprehending al Qur’an is semantic or meaning approach. There are three ways to goin the meaning; first is though microstructure, that is haw to meaning of the text can be made though the structural analysis of sentence and phrase. Second, stylistic, that is how the special stylistic of al Qur’an to be the tool to faind the meaning of the text. Third, semantic, that is how the choice of word or vocabulary used in al Qu’an has the basic meaning and the relational meaning. Do’a in the religion language has many terms: do’a, dzikir, istighosah, riyadoh, and the essence of sholat which is done by a moslem every day has been also considered as do’a. One of the requirements to make the do’a “terkabul” one should understand to meaning of the word form the language s/he uttered (linguistic phenomenan). And one of ways to find of word meaning is though semantic approach, the basic meaning and relational meaning. The research question one: how the basic meaning and the relational meaning of do’a in al Qur’an? Is the relational meaning always attached to the key word of do’a in al Qur’an. The focus of the researche is to explore the basic meaning and the important relational vocabulary which bicome the key word consisting do’a explicithy, that is the verse of do’a with the key word “fi’il madhi, and amar”, the research belongs library research though qualitative approach. After analyzing the key word of the verse of do’a in al Qur’an using basic of meaning and relational meaning prespective, the conclusion are: 1) the basic meaning of the key word in the verse of do’a in al Qur’an is lexical meaning of the words, while the relational meaning is the meaning produced by the texual and contextual, in this case the relational meaning of the verse of do’a; constitutes, synonym, antonym, ambiguity. 2) In the verse of do’a in al Qur’an, the relational meaning does not always attach to the key words; although it is related to the other words, it sametime still has lexical meaning.Kata Kunci: Ayat-ayat Al Qur'an, makna dasar, relasional

The investment growth in a country influenced by its economic growth. The higher economic growth of a country, the better prosperity of country’s people. The better prosperity is signed by the improvement of people income. It means that a larger opportunity of investment. The performance development of a company affected by internal and external factor. External factor shows that the situation of country especially involving economic, political, and social factors. The economic growth of a country can be seen from economical macro condition, including the amount of spreading money, Indonesian interest rate, and rupiah exchange. The purposes of this research are (1) to find out a macro variable (the amount of spreading money, the level of interest rate, and exchange value) to the joint stock market price index in Indonesian Stock Market, (2) to find out a dominant influence of macro variable indicator (the amount of spreading money, inflation, the level of Indonesian interest rate, exchange value) to the joint stock market in Indonesian Stock Market. This research is a quantitative research by using a descriptive method Data uses a secondary data such as the amount of spreading money, inflation, the level of Indonesian interest rate, exchange value and the joint stock market price index over the periods 2001-2007. Data collecting method is data by documentation. Data analysis method uses a double regression liner.The result of this research shows that there is a simultaneous economical macro variable to the joint stock market price index in Indonesian Stock Market. It is proven by Ftest is 434.723 Ftable 1.960 with level of significant 5%. The macro variable influence to the joint stock market price index is 95.7%, meanwhile the remains is affected by another variable out of the model. Partially, the amount of spreading money affects dominantly to the joint stock market price index in Indonesian Stock Market. This essay is aim at tracing the root of scientific philosophy in Islamic perspective, without overlook at the concept of the knowledge of philosophy before it is molded as the branch of philosophy. The objective is finding out the basic framework for the integration of science and Islamic knowledge. It is based on two reasons: first, based on the thesis that says that there is no dichotomous thinking in knowledge. Second, Al Qur’an as the revelation of God is mostly considered as the source of the knowledge. Basically, the concept of knowledge in Islam is comprehensively-deeply considered, even more comprehensive than the concept of knowledge in western point of view. Thus, it is no exaggeration to say that if the contemporary science is compared with the concept of knowledge in Islam, the contemporary knowledge will be in a lower level than knowledge in Islamic concept as it is considered by modern civilization. In short, the development of knowledge in tauhid1 framework is a sine qua non to transform Moslems to be the clever and wise people. Tauhid can transform Muslims to be a person who are able to give an original, exclusive and Islamic contribution to the exiting body of knowledge, who are able to offer a solution of the humanity problem for the sake of the creation of the life that is more humane. It is also including Muslims who are able to be intellectual leadership and, at the same time be solid foundations of the construction of culture and Islamic civilization.Keyword: Scientific Philosophy, Integration of Knowledge and Religion

Equality gender program designed by Indonesian government still has some obstacles. One of them is classical Islamic jurisprudence thoughts that discredited women roles in public sector and put them as second citizen. These thoughts, of course, agree with the social condition when they had been formulated. In order to actualize the understanding of al-Qur’an and Hadits in the need of nowdays society, we have to discover the meaning of Quranic verses and Hadits in the matter of social role of women in nowdays perspectives. This research uses library as a media for collecting data and the data collected had been analyzed by content dan discourse analysis. Quranic verses and Hadis that discredit women position in society must be understood in Arabian socio-cultural context when Muhammad received the messege (wahy). This research shows that men and women have the same chances and roles to occupy public duty in order to carry out “proposing good deeds and prohibiting misdeeds” (amr al-ma‘rûf wa nahy ‘an al-munkar) Keywords: Social role, Woman, Gender
