This study aims to find out the development and income inequality inter regency in East Kalimantan and prove whether the inverted U hypothesis applied in the East Kalimantan. To find out how much income inequality, the writer used Williamson and Theil's Entropy Index. Based on Williamson index, it indicates that there is income inequality inter regency in East Kalimantan during 2010 to 2012, at 0.69 in 2010 to 0.72 in 2012. Whereas Entropy Theil calculation shows that on average during 2010 to 2012, there was income inequality by 17.45. Meanwhile, Kuznets analysis shows that Kuznets law applied in East Kalimantan during 2010 to 2012.

Abstract

The aim of this study was to identify the problems and determine the conceptual model of regional development planning. Regional development planning is a systemic, complex and unstructured process. Therefore, this study used soft systems methodology to outline unstructured issues with a structured approach. The conceptual models that were successfully constructed in this study are a model of consistency and a model of reconciliation. Regional development planning is a process that is well-integrated with central planning and inter-regional planning documents. Integration and consistency of regional planning documents are very important in order to achieve the development goals that have been set. On the other hand, the process of development planning in the region involves technocratic system, that is, both top-down and bottom-up system of participation. Both must be balanced, do not overlap and do not dominate each other. regional, development, planning, consistency, reconciliation

Abstract

The Indonesian economy indicates good performance but it is not followed by the decrease in crime rates. The aim of research is to find out and analyze the effects of unemployment, education, wages, and case completion rates on the crime rates in Indonesia in 2012 – 2016. This research uses the panel data using the Fixed Effect Model (FEM) with Generalized Least Square (GLS) method. The data used in this research is the secondary data collected from the Central Bureau of Statistics and the Indonesian National Police since 2012 until 2016. The data includes the open unemployment rate, the school enrollment rates, the provincial minimum wages, the crime rates, and the case completion rates. The result of this research indicates that the variables of unemployment, education and case completion rates insignificantly affect on the criminal crime in Indonesia. The wages have negative and significant effect on the crime rates in Indonesia.

Abstract

The interaction between banks and macroeconomics is of crucial importance to financial stability. This study aims to answer the question of how macroeconomic shocks are transmitted to banking variables or vice versa. The study investigated the impact of the banking policies, the principal component of analysis (PCA) of banking quality indicators (CAMEL), and BI's rate to the aggregate of GDP and GDP priority sectors. The methodology used is the Factor Augmented Vector Autoregressive (FAVAR) model to observe the endogeneity of the observed variables. The results show that there is substantial heterogeneity in the transmission of macroeconomic shocks, caused by CAR, CAMEL and BI rate. In the short run, we find that the impulse response functions of aggregate GDP and GDP per sector of priority to the shock of the CAR decrease and close to zero in the long term. Our findings align with the expected effects that the CAMEL has implications to the decline of GDP of priority sector. Finally, we find that the impulse response of aggregate GDP and GDP of the priority sector to monetary policy shock decreases in the short run and near to zero in the more extended period
