Abstract

The purpose of this study is to analyze the performance of mutual funds shares after the subprime mortgage crisis. The population in this study are 55 mutual funds shares of 34 mutual funds investment managers who are issuing shares and mutual funds in the capital market. The sampling technique in this study uses a non-probability sampling which is a kind of purposive sampling based on certain criteria. Based on the criteria are obtained as many as 20 mutual funds. In addition, this study also uses quantitative analysis techniques, namely the analytical technique in the calculation of the performance of a portfolio of index mutual funds by Sharpe, Treynor and Jensen. The result shows that during the observation period, namely the post-crisis Subprime Mortgage, of 20 mutual funds are included in the study criteria, there are quite a lot of mutual fund shares are able to rebound and its performance are able to outperform the market as compared with mutual funds which are underperform.

Abstract

This study aims to determine the effect of the characteristics of entrepreneurs, learning orientation and entrepreneurial orientation on business success. The study population is  small entrepreneurs in the food processing sector in Palembang consist of  19.457 businesses. By using a precision level of 10%, the sample size is 100 people. The sampling technique used in this research is purposive sampling. Data were analyzed using multiple regression approach with SPSS 19. The results showed that the characteristics of entrepreneurs, learning orientation, entrepreneurial orientation have significant effect on business success. There is no linear relationship between the characteristics of the entrepreneurial and business success. There is a linear relationship between learning orientation and business success. There is a linear relationship between entrepreneurial orientation and business success. Results of research can be developed into a strategy for small entrepreneurs in the food processing in Palembang to increase the success of efforts undertaken.

Abstract

This study is the research about the function of monitoring, incentives and work productivity of rubber tappers employee at the farm of Research Center Estate Sembawa. The purpose of this study is to determine whether the monitoring function and incentives that effect to work productivity. The study was using qualitative methods associated with the quantitative analysis of multiple regression analysis to the relationship between the variables being tested look. The result from this study has the relationship between monitoring function with work productivity as 0.328 or 33%. Then incentives also have a relationship with work productivity as 0.599 or 60%. This means that there have other factors which can influence work productivity at 7%.

Abstract

This study aims to determine the influence of the physical environment, perceived value, and image of hotel on consumer behavioral intentions. Population of this research is all the people who've been stay at 3 and 4 star hotels in Palembang. Based on the number of existing populations obtained amount of sample is 183 respondents. The sampling method used in this study is non probability sampling technique with a type of accidental sampling. Based on  ANOVA test results F count is 82.420 and F table is 3.189 with significance 0.000 <0.05, so the regression model can be used to predict the influence of the physical environment, perceived value and image of hotel on consumer behavioral intentions to choosing hotel. Statistical analysis showed that physical environmental factors have not significant effect on consumer behavioral intentions to choosing hotel. Perceived value have significant effect on consumer behavioral intentions to choosing hotel. Image of hotel have significant effect on consumer behavioral intentions to choosing hotel. Therefore, 3 and 4 star hotels in Palembang need to pay attention to develop and maintain better physical environments so that positive perceptions of image and value can be developed to create customers’ positive behavioral intentions

Abstract

The Purpose of this research is to determine the effect of price against the decisions of consumers in purchasing BlackBerry Curve at Senior High School students at  Muhammadiyah 1 Palembang.  The writer would like to know how prices affect students’ decisions to buy the BlackBerry Curve.  Data used is the purchase decision, which is the dependent variable (Y) and the influence of price is the independent variable (X).  Quantitative method was used in this research, in taking the samples, the writer used the stratified random sampling technique.  95 samples were asked to complete the questionnaire.  The obtained data were processed by using sloven's formula as quoted by Husein (2001) then those data were analyzed by using the theoretical framework developed by private (2011).  The writer found that there was price effect against students' decisions to buy the BlackBerry Curve.  The result showed that the coefficient regression value was 0,611 it meant that there was a positive correlation between price affect against students' decisions to buy the BlackBerry Curve. Based on the value above, the writer can conclude that any value addition carried a price variable, then an increase in students purchasing decision to buy a BlackBerry Curve.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the effect of service quality, product quality and perceived price on customer satisfaction and the implications on WOM. This research is descriptive-quantitative in nature. Secondary data were gathered from various sources such as books and journals and other related publications. Primary data were obtained using questionnaire distributed to Indihome customers in Jakarta city. Using a purposive sampling technique, a total sample of 120 Indihome customers was obtained. Data were analyzed using Path analysis. Various statistical tests such as validity, reliability, normality tests were also employed. The results showed that the service quality, product quality and perceived price partially and simultaneously had a significant and positive effect on customer satisfaction. Furthermore, only the variables of product quality and perceived price were found to have a direct effect on WOM. Customer satisfaction as an intervening variable had a significant effect on WOM. Since the variables are multi-dimensional, it is recommended that the company pay attentions onthe dimensions of the variables being observed.

Abstract

The purpose of this research is to analyze the effect of Competencies and Emotional Intelligence on Job Performance of the office administration’s staff of RK Charity Hospital. The population on this research are all of RK Charity Hospital’s employee, including medical and nonmedical staff. Sample in this research using census method, there is 155 office administration staff. Data Analysis is using SEM that operate by AMOS Ver 20. The result of this research shown that Competencies do not influence the Job Performance of office administration’s staff of RK Charity Hospital. However, Emotional Intelligence gives influence to the Job Performance of office administration’s staff of RK Charity Hospital. The dimensions of Knowledge, Skills, Self Concept, Personal Characteristics, and Motives has a strong relationship with Competencies. The Dimensions of Self Awareness, Self Regulation, Motivation, and Social Skills has a strong relationship with Emotional Intelligence. However, Empathy has no strong relationship with Emotional Intelligence.

Abstract

This research performed in order to test the influence of activity ratio, profitability ratio and market ratio toward the stock return of sub-sector telecommunication companies that listed in Indonesia Stock Exchange for period 2011-2015. The sampling technique used in the research is purposive sampling with criteria as (1) listed in Indonesia Stock Exchange in 2011-2015. (2) always seem annual financial report over period 2011-2015). The sample of this research is six companies for five periods. Data analysis with multiple regressions with the ordinary least square (OLS) method. Hypotheses test used t-statistic and f-statistic at level significance 5%. The result of this research show Total Aset Turnover, Price Book Value, Price Earning Ratio have a significant effect on stock return. Besides, Working Capital Turnover, Return on asset and Return on Equity don’t have significant effect toward a stock return. Result of this research indicates that activity ratio, profitability ratio, and market ratio simultaneously have significant effect toward a stock return.

Abstract

This research aims to analyze direct and indirect effect about liquidity, financial leverage and activities on stock return and with the mediation of ROA as a proxy of profitability ratio. The population were all company in Sub Sector of Automotive and Components are 12 companies. Purposive sampling used as the sampling technique and acquired 11 firms. The period in 2000-2013, unit of analysis is panel data with 154 observations.  The data analysis method used is Path Analysis. The result shows that direct effect Current Ratio (CR) and Debt to Equity Ratio (DER) not have signed on Stock Return, while Total Asset Turnover (TAT) has a significant effect on Stock Return. The indirect effect the rule of ROA as full mediation in CR to stock return and as partial mediation in TAT to stock return. But not found the rule of ROA as mediation effect DER to stock return.

Abstract

The unstable monetary situation as reflected in the interest rates and inflation resulting in chaos in the economy. This shows the close macroeconomics impact on stock price indices in the stock market. The purpose of this study is to assess and analyze the influence of the variables of macro-economic indicators of inflation and interest rates on stock price performance index over the period 2012 to 2014.Technique analysis in this study using multiple linear regression method using the independent variable inflation and interest rates on the Composite Index. Data obtained from the Monthly Statistic, Indonesia Stock Exchange, Economic Indicators of the Central Bureau of Statistic, Monthly Report of Bank Indonesia and the Indonesian Capital Market Directory. The result showed that the Composite Index in Indonesia Stock Exchange has a relationship but not too significant to inflationary and interest rate variables. While inflation and interest rates simultaneously affect the JCI. Simultaneously the macro variables affect inflation and interest rates of 88.4% against 11.6% JCI rest explained by other factors.
