Abstract

Abstract: Duck is one of the important commodities in South Kalimantan, as shown by the high population reached 3.487 million head with an egg contribute approximately 52.09% of the total production of poultry eggs, and duck meat production contributes about 3.59%. Common problems faced by farmers ducks in South Kalimantan is the high price of feed or feed ingredients, the limited diversity of feed ingredients that can be used, duck egg production period is relatively short (4-6 months / period of production), as well as relatively low egg production and quality carcass of existing local ducks. To overcome these problems can be done one of them is the preparation of feed based on local feed ingredients are easily available and cheap availability, or search for a superior alternative which can produce a duck egg and meat production to meet consumer demand. The purpose of this study is to investigate and produce feed formulation for duck feed the queen through improved local-based feed ingredients. Activities conducted in farmers’ fields (on fram research) by way introduction / repair existing technologies or developing farmers. This activity is carried out in the central areas of ducks and consumer centers or close to local consumers is conducted in Handil Gayam village, Tanah Laut district. No feed treatment formulations 5, the difference in treatment between one to another by: A: completeness of feed ingredients used; B: the use of snails; C: practicality; D: use of shrimp head; E: control. Observations were carried out for 8 months with parameters such as egg production, mean egg weight, feed consumption and conversion, and business analysis. Observed data were analyzed by looking at each treatment rataannya. Utilization of local feed ingredients are mixed with the feed so (commercial) and concentrate to increase the average egg production (60.40 to 66.5%) compared to controls (45.7%). Based on the analysis of the business, it is known that local improvements through utilization of feed for laying ducks (duck Queen) quite profitable and viable. Based on the assessment results shown that feed treatment D with feed formulation consists of (sago, rice bran, fish and shrimp head) is the best formulation for cheaper 60.36% of commercial feed, and quite profitable and viable when viewed from the R/C dan MBCR value of 1.56 and at 1.76. Based on this study it is suggested that farmers can adjust local feed ingredients used in consideration of the price, availability and season. Availability of feed ingredients depending on the season it can be done by means of processing or preservation or dried to make flour always available continuously.

Abstract

Abstract: Food is a strategic commodity, and food availability absolute priority because it can create food security and national stability. The purpose of the Director General of Food Crops is to maintain the availability of food. For 2014 the target is 10 million tons of Ministry of Agriculture surplus. In order to achieve this program certainly accompanied by inter-ministerial coordination, one with the ministry of Public Works, in order to improve the irrigation network. The purpose of this paper is to discuss the development of new wetland openings, and is limited to aspects of the development potential of land for opening new fields, as well as various technical constraints management opening new fields of socio-economic aspects. Period (1992-2002) wetland conversion to nonagricultural reached 110,000 ha per year. And in the time span 2007-2010, in Java, the average conversion rate of 200,000 ha per year in the form of land irrigated technical, nontechnical and dry land. New paddy fields is one form of change of use of land resources is not agricultural land into agricultural land. And targets are achieved during the period 2010 – 2014 is 2 million hectares. While the Ministry of Agriculture to plan targets new paddy fields in 2012 covering an area of 100,000 hectares (ha) outside Java. To realize the program tersbut still many obstacles that must be resolved, one of the obstacles which spatial and spatial policy in Indonesia has not had a consistent policy, and tend to overlap (vertically or horizontally). To overcome this problem one solution is the collaboration of all stakeholders, including government, private sector, researchers, farmers, and food industry players in strengthening national food security.

Abstract

Abstract: System maintenance goats in Indonesia, especially in the District High King of the North Sumatra regency shavings Proopinsi done the traditional way, the availability of quality feed is one of the limiting factors to determine the number of livestock kept by farmers. The purpose of this paper is to investigate the possibilities among supplementary feeding is applied by farmers feed ingredients are easily available at affordable prices, livestock forage planted palm perkebunana dilahan the age of 5 years with extensive 3 ha forage crops forage Brachiaria and Stylosanthes ruziziensis Guianeniserta, as well as waste agriculture, which can increase the rate of goats nuts. Livestock production performance shows R1, R2 and R highly significant (P <0.01) higher than R33, whereas to measure the growth rate of goats nuts (R) which is the regression coefficient Yk = 14:33 +2.02 X (R) which is the regressioncoefficient Yk = 14.34 +1.75 x, and (R32) which regress coefficient Yp = 14.34 + 1.58 y obtained regression equation with the same value of R2 = 0.99, not only petambahan weight are visible on the nut goats in ruziziensis give forage Brachiaria and Stylosanthes guianenis but goats seem nuts over fluffy, slippery, sparkling eyes, smooth and healthy. Gains derived by farmers around R Rp.1.058.602/bulan B/C 1.2,R21 around Rp.984.145/bulan B/C 1.2 due to variable expenses and the cost of production, while approximately R3 Rp.666.268/bulan B/C 1.1 expenditure concentrated on variable costs, labor costs and the purchase of seeds.

Abstract

Abstract: Policy of providing chemical fertilizers at low prices through the subsidies continue to increase every year, causing inefficient use of fertilizers by farmers and in turn lower the productivity of the land. The study was conducted in the province of West Java and Central Java in 2012, aims to (1) evaluate the costs and revenues of non commercial organic fertilizer and (2) analyzing farm income and the factors that affect rice production. Total farmer respondents interviewed 60 farmers with 30 farmers who earn program Organic Fertilizer Processing Unit (UPPO) and 30 farmers who do not follow the program UPPO. To determine the effect of the use of organic fertilizers used in rice cultivation model of linear production function CobbDouglas and financial analysis or benefit cost ratio (B/C). The results showed good organic fertilizer production enterprises in the form of solid or liquid organic fertilizer is quite profitable. Farmers earn net income of Rp. 83-112 per kg of organic fertilizer in 6 weeks. The amount of chemical fertilizers used on semi-organic rice farming is reduced by approximately 50% of the amount of chemical fertilizers used in nonorganic farming. The use of labor in semi-rice organic farming is higher than nonorganic farming, especially at the stage of cultivation and weeding. R/C ratio of semiorganic rice farming is greater than non-organic rice which indicates that the semiorganic rice farming more profitable financially.

Abstract

Abstract: The research wasconducted inJune-July 2013 at Bettet Village Pamekasan City Subdistrict Pamekasan Regency. The research objectivewas to determine the allocation efficiency of input use on breeding laying hens. Secondary and primary data were obtained through interview and observation methods. Descriptive analysis with applying the Cobb-Douglas production function and testing Efficiency Value Price for Input Use (Factor) is used to analyze the data. Results showed that the model of Cobb Douglas production function breeding laying hens at Bettet Village Pamekasan City Subdistrict Pamekasan Regenc yis quite good. This can be seen in the value of R2 =0.9585, meaning that the independent variable(X1 s/dX6) in the modelis able to explain the relationship with the dependent variable (production) of 95.85%, while the remaining 4.15% is explained by other variables not in the study. In addition, the results of the Cobb Douglas production function model breeding laying hens at Bettet Village have calculated F value = 527.485 > F table = 2.599 with  =0.05 and degrees of freedom df(6,20), meaning that the independent variables(X1s/dX6) together in a model that explains the relationship of the dependent variable (production) significantly. Assessment results for the efficiency of use of each input prices (factor) indicates that the allocation of the inputs on breeding laying hens at Bettet Village Pamekasan City Subdistrict Pamekasan Regency still not efficient. It can be seen from the t value of each input is greater thanttable with α=0.05and19 degrees of freedom (df =19).

Abstract

Abstract: Various efforts to increase food production, especially rice has long been a national policy. Strategy to increase rice productivity through improved cultivation pursued by implementing ICM (Integrated Crop Management) which is accompanied by escorts, assistance, and coordination. This research aims to analyze the impact of ICM on income and the structure of household income. The research was conducted in three rice-producing district in the province of Bali i.e. Tabanan, Buleleng and Gianyar by involving as many as 216 respondent farmers consisting of 122 alumni of ICM and 94 farmers are not alumni ICM in the two season. The sampling method is stratified random sampling. The data were analyzed descriptively and cross-tabulation the use of farm inputs and outputs and performed statistically by t test. The analysis showed the largest share in the cost structure of rice farming both ICM alumni and nonICM alumni is the cost of labor and fertilizer.Increased lowland rice farming income by implementing ICM increased 53-54% both in wet and dry season. The results of the financial analysis shows the value of BC ratio farmers alumni on wet season 2.98 and 1.87 at the farmers are non alumni of ICM, while the dry season farmers alumni 2.94 and non alumni 1.92.The largest share of farm household income structure derived from on-farm activities, where rice farming income is the largest contribution.
