Abstract

A lecturer quality is one of the keys to be succeed in teaching process. The phenomenon says that a qualified lecturer will give good impacts to the graduation of students. Effective teaching strategy is the important part in the teaching and learning process. To get a qualified teaching, a lecturer must use the effective teaching strategy. Key words: teaching strategy, quality of lecturer, and the effective teaching development.

Abstract

Character education becomes the serious notice to be implemented in schools. The phenomenon shows that a lot of society moans about the reduction of politeness, ethic, and students’ creativity which are caused by weakness of culture and nation character education. As the first step, the character education must begin early, that is in the primary level. In the primary level, its portion achieves 60 % if it is compared to the other levels education. The culture and nation characters education must be practiced and emphasized not on its theory. The culture and nation characters education can be implemented in hidden curriculum. Therefore, it is needed some books to the characters education implementation in education institutions, from primary schools up to university levels. It is also needed the socialization of grand design of characters education. Key words: characters education, concept discourse, and implementation.

Abstract

Di tengah masyarakat yang cenderung primordialistis ini, program pendidikan karakter di perguruan tinggi haruslah memuat usaha untuk membantu para mahasiswa melihat kenyataan secara kritis. Program itu, tentu saja, harus didukung dengan menciptakan kejujuran dan persaudaraan di lingkungan perguruan tinggi. Pengembangan Karakter di Perguruan Tinggi mencakup pilar Tri Dharma Perguruan Tinggi, yakni Pendidikan yang mencakup kegiatan pembelajaran penelitian dan pengabdian kepada masyarakat, serta pengembangan budaya pendidikan tinggi yang tercermin dalam kegiatan keseharian dalam berbagai bentuk perilaku keseharian di kelas, laboratorium, lapangan olah raga, studio, dan masyarakat. Pembentukan karakter SDM yang kuat sangat diperlukan untuk menghadapi tantangan global yang lebih berat. Kata kunci: implementasi, pendidikan karakter, perguruan tinggi dan bangasa.

Abstract

Government through the National Education Department has determined new policies in the education sectors such as; the act of National Education System(UU Sisdiknas), PP or Government Regulation, Permen or ministerial regulation, Kepmen or  ministerial decree, policy of pioneering effort of international level school (RSBI), policy of International Level Schools (SBI), immersive schools policy, accelerative schools policy, bilingualism, policy of the change of education curriculum from year to year, determining the incorporate of education institutions, increasing the quality of SDM ( Peoples resources), and the operational aid to the education institutions, and so on. All of the efforts have a purpose to increase the national education quality to achieve the national education aim. The result of the research shows that SBI or International Level School regulation in official of education at Pacitan Regency is only following the policy of provide government, and the national government. There is no proponent regulation which is more operational and relevant with the local schools needs.Key words: international level schools, policy of education, and education decentralization

Abstract

This study aims to investigate the effectiveness of the management of International Standard State Senior High Schools in Yogyakarta City in terms of the Context, Input, Process, and Product components. This study was an evaluation research study employing the CIPP (Context, Input, Process, Product) evaluation model. This study employed the quantitative descriptive approach. The research subjects comprised 2 principals, 27 teachers, and 250 students of SMA Negeri 1 dan 3 Yogyakarta. The students were selected by means of the purposive sampling technique. The data were collected through observations, documents, interviews, and questionnaires. The data were analyzed using the SPSS Program Version 16.0. The results of the study are as follows. 1) The effectiveness in terms of the Context component is in the moderate category (73.51%), 2) The effectiveness in terms of the Input component is in the high category (76.33%), 3) The effectiveness in terms of the Process components is in the moderate category (74.68%), 4) The effectiveness in terms of the Product component is in the high category (88.13%).Key words: management of International Standard State Senior High Schools, Context, Input, Process, Product and SMA-BI.

Abstract

This research has a purpose to plan and apply the evaluation of EKOP model in integrated teaching of Connected model to increase the teaching quality of the South Asia History 2 lecture at the Historical Program of FKIP UNS. The subjects of the research are the students who study the South Asia History 2 lecture at the even semester in 2009/2010 Academic Year. The research is done by using the classroom action research method (PTK). The technique and equipment which are used to get the data in the research are the questionnaire technique, observation, and interview. The result of the research shows that the application of EKOP model evaluation in the integrated teaching of connected model can increase the teaching quality of South Asia History 2 lecture. It is shown by the scores average of teaching quality components at numbers 3.4 – 4.1 which are categorized as good in the first cycle and the second cycle. The total scores average are categorized as good on the numbers 3.51 at the first cycle and 3.57 at the second cycle.Key words: EKOP model Evaluation, Integrated teaching of Connected model, and teaching quality

Abstract

Drama is a literary work which is very interesting to be studied, because i5t can illustrate the people life clearly. She stoops to Conquer is a comedy drama in 18th century, written by Oliver Goldsmith. In the drama the actors have some difficulties to solve their problems. The research method in the study is the inductive method that is getting the conclusion from the special phenomena to the general phenomena which are related to the drama itself. The result of the research to the drama She Stoops to Conquer is giving a message of moral values to the general society who often sees peoples from their outsides. Specially, the drama shows that the misunderstandings can be funny things at the wrong perceptions to someone or something.Key words: humorous, misunderstanding, and theme.

Abstract

This research introduced a new teaching strategy that is Children Learning in Science (CLIS) in learning English as foreign language, especially in the students’ writing. CLIS provides logical subject of theory, facts, problem solving, and application by doing an experiment. By learning through science, students can explore their scientific skill in finding the answer of a realistic problem happened. This research is in the form of Classroom Action Research (CAR) that had been conducted into two cycles. The analysis copes with the teacher and students’ activities in the process of teaching learning and the students’ respond. The research method used is descriptive with research design of qualitative. The population of the research is the tenth grade students of MAN 2 Madiun which has 192 students in all. The result of research shows an increasing result on the teacher and students’ activities as well as students’ affective and cognitive score that supported with students’ responses toward CLIS. Key words: metod Children Learning in Science, Classroom Action Research (CAR and teaching strategy.
