Abstract

Abstract

The aim of this research is to evaluate the effectiveness of early ambulation on post partum hemorhage in independent of midwifery practice. The research was a quasi-experimental with two group post-test research design. The number of samples was 30 subjects. The early ambulation programs consists of lay aside - sit down position, and lay aside-sit down-stand up position for 1 to 2 hours. Post partum hemorhage was measured by counting the amount of bleeding during post partum. Afterwards, the data were analyzed using Mann Whitney test. The results showed that the average amount of bleeding within the experimental group decreased 6.33 cc after the early ambulation with lay aside - sit down position in the first and second hours as well as in the control group which declined 9.66 cc after the early ambulation lay aside-sit down-stand up position 1 hour to 2 hours. However, there was no significant diference between post partum hemorhage in the experimetal and the control group (z=1.131, p0.05). It can be concluded that either early ambulation with lay aside - sit down position or lay aside-sit down-stand up position for 1 hour to 2 can decrease post partum hemorhage.

Abstract

The study is to determine the relationship between the length of the feet and the height of the fundus uterus. The research used the analytic survey with cross sectional approach. We used purposive sampling, and there were 30 respondents. Then we analized the test statistic using the Chi–Square. The results showed that p value 0.061 is greater than the significant level of 0.05 so that there is no accurate intersection of the projection of length in the measurement of the length of right foot and the height of fundus uterus in third trimester pregnant women with pelvic narrowness incident. As a provider of antenatal care, Midwives should always assume that all pregnant women have the same risk and treating all pregnant women equally, due to the measurement of the height of the fundus that is projected from the lengths of the right foot can not be used as a prediction of narrow pelvis.

Abstract

This research was to determine the influence of dental hygiene care interventions (oral hygiene) to the reduction of plaque index of deaf students. It was a true experimental with randomi pre-post-test control group design. The measurements of plaque index performed with PHPM index in inspection sheet method. The plaque index are calculated from the amount of plaque scores in inspection sheet. Research was done over 49 respondents that divided into two groups: intervention groups and control groups. There was a significant difference of plaque index before and after the treatment. In intervention groups it decreased from the average of 35,7 to 10,4 (70,87%) with value p=0,001. Whether in control group it was also decreased from the average of 37,5 to 28,9 (22,93%) with value p=0,001. The average of plaque index reduction was also differ significantly between intervention groups (31,06 ) and control groups (12,0) with value p=0,001. Dental hygiene care intervention (oral hygiene) can reduce plaque index of deaf students. Suggestion: Dental hygiene care intervention (oral hygiene) should be delivered periodically to the deaf students by nurturing the habit brushing teeth twice a day completed with a written module, so that it can prevent the occurrence of oral diseases.

Abstract

The aim of this research is to evaluate the effectiveness of vitamin A for 6 to 12 months baby toward the number of morbidity rate. This was a quasy experimental with posttest case control group design. The total number of sampel was 40 babies age 6 to 12 monts. The data was analised by an independen t-test. The result shows that the illness frequency of baby consumed Vitamin A was 0,55 times less than babies who did not. Baby who consumed less vitamin A has only 1, 8 days of illness, and 6,75 days for babys who did not consume Vitamin A. Babies who consumed vitamin A only encountered 0,7 kinds of diseases, while 2,10 kinds of diseases encountered by non-consumer babies. In conclusion, serving Vitamin A is an effective step in reducing the morbidity for 6 to 12 months babies with a frecuency of illness of p=0,001. Moreover the length of illness period and the kinds of diseases have the same p=0,0001. Health care provider especilly midwives have to encourage women to ensure that the baby is suplemented with itamin A at February and August every year.
