Abstract

Abstract: The ability of students to use Information and Communication Technology (ICT) is still not optimally integrated with learning. Even though most students already have gadgets, internet connections are available via campus hotspots. Based on this, learning in higher education cannot be separated from the use of computerized and online-based technology. The integration of ICT into vclass-based multimedia learning is a potential thing to develop. This vclass-based multimedia application is expected to improve habits of mind and conceptual understanding of biology cell of students. Improved learning outcomes can be demonstrated through conceptual understanding which are the ability to understand the concepts that exist in the learning material after the learning process takes place.Keywords: habits of mind, mastery of concepts, cells, virtual class. Abstrak: Kemampuan mahasiswa dalam menggunakan Teknologi Informasi dan Komunikasi (TIK) masih belum optimal diintegrasikan dengan pembelajaran. Padahal sebagian besar mahasiswa sudah memiliki gadget, tersedia koneksi internet melalui hotspot kampus. Berdasarkan hal tersebut, pembelajaran di perguruan tinggi tidak bisa terlepas dari pemanfaatan teknologi yang terkomputerisasi dan berbasis online. Integrasi TIK ke dalam pembelajaran melalui multimedia berbasis vclass merupakan hal yang potensial untuk dikembangkan. Penerapan multimedia berbasis vclass ini dapat meningkatkan habits of mind dan penguasaan konsep sel mahasiswa pendidikan biologi. Peningkatan hasil belajar dapat ditunjukkan melalui penguasaan konsep yang merupakan kemampuan memahami konsep-konsep yang ada dalam materi pembelajaran setelah proses pembelajaran berlangsung.Kata kunci: habits of mind, penguasaan konsep, sel, kelas virtual.DOI: http://dx.doi.org/10.23960/jpmipa/v20i1.pp17-22

Abstract

Abstrcat: The effectiveness of discovery learning to improve inferencetion skill and mastery concept of chemical equilibrium. The goal of this research was describe the effectiveness of discovery learning model to improve inferencetion skill and mastery concept of chemical equilibrium.  This research used quasi experimental method with a pretest-postest control grup design. Sampling was performed by using purposive technique with all of the 11th grade student in SMA Negeri 15 Bandar Lampung as population. This research used two classes as control and experimental class which they were obtained from XI MIA 3 and XI MIA 2 of academic year 2018-2019. The effectiveness of discovery learning was showed by the significant difference of n-Gain between control and experiment classes. The size associated with using effect size. The result obtained size of influence is great. The result of hypothesis testing showed that discovery learning model was effective to improve inferencetion skill and mastery concepts of chemical equilibrium.Keywords: chemical equilibrium, discovery learning model, inferencetion skill, and mastery concepts.Abstrak: Efektivitas Discovery Learning untuk Meningkatkan Kemampuan Inferensi dan Penguasaan Konsep Kesetimbangan Kimia. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mendeskripsikan efektivitas model discovery learning untuk meningkatkan kemampuan inferensi dan penguasaan konsep materi kesetimbangan kimia.  Metode penelitian ini adalah kuasi eksperimen dengan pretest-postest control grup design.  Pengambilan sampel dilakukan dengan teknik purposive sampling yang dalam penelitian ini populasinya ialah seluruh siswa kelas XI MIA SMA Negeri 15 Bandar Lampung. Sampel pada penelitian ini adalah kelas XI MIA 3 dan XI MIA 2 Tahun Ajaran 2018-2019. Efektivitas model discovery learning ditunjukkan oleh adanya perbedaan rata-rata nilai n-Gain yang signifikan antara kelas kontrol dan kelas eksperimen. Ukuran pengaruh dihitung dengan menggunakan uji effect size. Hasilnya diperoleh ukuran pengaruh yang besar. Hasil pengujian hipotesis menunjukkan bahwa model discovery learning pada materi kesetimbangan kimia efektif dalam meningkatkan kemampuan inferensi dan penguasaan konsep. Kata kunci: kesetimbangan kimia, pembelajaran berbasis penemuan, kemampuan inferensi, dan penguasaan konsep. DOI: http://dx.doi.org/10.23960/jpmipa/v19i1.pp50-61

Abstract

Abstract: The effectiveness learning model of think talk write on students’ mathematical representation skills. This research aimed to find out the effectiveness of cooperative learning Think Talk Write type on students mathematical representation skills. The population of this research was all students of eighth grade in SMP N 1 Kotabumi in academic year of 2018/2019  as many as 244 students which were distriuted into eight classes. The sample of this research were all students of class VIII D as many as 32 students and VIII E as many as 32 students who were selected by cluster random sampling technique. The design which was used in this research was pretest-posttest control group design and the data collecting technique was test. The research data was the increasing score of mathematical representation skills that obtained through an essay test. Based on the result of proportion test and test using 0,05 of significance level, concluded that cooperative learning Think Talk Write type was not effective on students mathematical representation skills.Keyword: effectiveness, mathematical representation, think talk write Abstrak: Efektivitas model pembelajaran think talk write ditinjau dari kemampuan representasi matematis siswa. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui efektivitas model pembelajaran kooperatif tipe Think Talk Write ditinjau dari kemampuan representasi matematis siswa. Populasi penelitian ini adalah seluruh siswa kelas VIII SMP N 1 Kotabumi semester genap tahun pelajaran 2018/2019 sebanyak 244 siswa yang terdistribusi dalam delapan kelas. Sampel penelitian ini adalah seluruh siswa kelas VIII D dan VIII E yang dipilih dengan teknik cluster random sampling. Desain penelitian yang digunakan adalah the pretest-posttest control group design dengan teknik penilaian menggunakan teknik tes. Data penelitian berupa skor peningkatan kemampuan representasi matematis yang diperoleh melalui tes uraian. Berdasarkan uji proporsi dan uji  dengan taraf signifikan 5% diperoleh kesimpulan bahwa model pembelajaran Think Talk Write tidak efektif ditinjau dari kemampuan representasi matematis siswa.Kata kunci: efektivitas, representasi matematis, think talk write

Abstract

Mathematical proof is one of the mathematical abilities that is very important for students. Until now, most students had difficulty in mathematical proof. The difficulty of this mathematical proof needs to be analyzed the causes, including analysis based on gender differences. This qualitative research aims to describe the ability of mathematical proof based on gender difference. The research subjects were students of mathematics education FKIP Lampung University taking the introduction to group theory in the odd semester of the academic year 2019/2020. Research subjects were 30 people; consisted of 7 men and 23 women. Data was collected through tests and observations, and it were analyzed descriptively based on 3 indicator levels, namely fluency, flexibility, and originality. The results showed that the mathematical proof ability of students were 1.80 (medium); men was 1.43 (medium) and female was 1.87 (medium), and men reach originality. So, it is concluded that the mathematical proof ability of students is medium, women are higher than men in fluency and flexibility, but men are higher than women in originality. Keywords: Mathematical proof, the introduction to group theory, gender differences

Abstract

Abstract: This research is a type of research and development. Plant E-Atlas for Acid –Base Test Indicators was developed with the aim of being used as interactive teaching material especially in the online learning process during the Covid-19 pandemic. The E-Atlas development procedure uses the Dick and Carrey model. Eligibility Levels of the E-Atlas are evaluated based on the assessment of experts and field practitioners. The effectiveness of the practicality of the E-Atlas is analyzed based on the responses of the E-Atlas users. The respondents were students at the grade X SMK Kesehatan Yannas Husada Bangkalan SMK. The average feasibility score of the E-Atlas is 90.18% with very valid criteria and 89.08% with reliable criteria. Practicality of the E-Atlas obtained an average score of 86.10%. The results of research and development of the E-Atlas show that the E-Atlas designed can be used to support online learning. In addition, the results of the assessments of experts, educational practitioners, and respondents show that the E-Atlas contains content to train Scientific Reasoning Skill. Keywords: Plant E-Atlas, online learning, scientific reasoning Abstrak: Penelitian ini merupakan jenis penelitian dan pengembangan (RnD). E-Atlas Tumbuhan Indikator Uji Asam-basa dikembangkan dengan tujuan untuk digunakan sebagai bahan ajar interkatif , khususnya pada proses pembelajaran online. Prosedur pengembangan E-Atlas menggunakan Model pengembangan Dick and Carrey. Tingkat Kelayakan E-Atlas dievaluasi berdasarkan penilaian para ahli dan praktisi lapangan. Keefektifan kepraktisan E-Atlas dianalisa berdasarkan respon dari para pengguna E-Atlas. Responden dalam penelitian ini adalah siswa kelas X SMK Kesehatan Yannas Husada Bangkalan. Rata-rata skor kelayakan E-Atlas adalah 90,18% dengan kriteria sangat valid dan 89,08% dengan kriteria reliabel. Kepraktisan E-Atlas memperoleh skor rata-rata 86,10%. Hasil penelitian dan pengembangan E-Atlas menunjukkan bahwa E-Atlas yang dirancang dapat digunakan untuk mendukung pembelajaran online. Abstract

Abstract: The Effectiveness of Discovery Learning to Improve Observation Skill and Mastery of Concept of Chemical Equilibrium. This study aims to describe the effectiveness of discovery learning model to improving the observation skill and mastery of concept chemical equilibrium. This research was conducted at SMAN 15 Bandar Lampung Teaching Year 2018/2019 using quasi experimental method with Pretest-Postest Control Group Design. Sampling of purposive sampling of 3 population classes and samples selected class XI Science 2 as experiment class and XI Science 3 as control class. The effectiveness discovery learning in this study was conducted by using n-gain which was significant between experiment class and control class. The size associated with using the effect size. The result obtained by observation skill and mastery of concept are high, and size of influence is great. Abstract

Abstract: The Effectiveness of the Problem Based Learning Model Viewed from the Students' Understanding of Mathematical Concepts. This study aimed to find out the effectiveness of the Problem Based Learning (PBL) model in terms of students' understanding mathematical concepts. The population of this study was all seventh grade students of SMP Negeri 3 Natar in the even semester of the academic year of 2018/2019 as many as 126 students that distributed into four classes. Two classes were randomly taken as samples with one class as the experimental class and one class as the control class. This study used the randomized pretest-posttest control group design. The research data was obtained through a essay test of the comparison. Data analysis of this research used . The results showed the increasing of students’ understanding of mathematical concepts who took PBL was higher than increasing of students’ understanding of mathematical concepts of who took conventional learning, but the proportion of students who had a well-defined mathematical concept was not more than 60% of students who took PBL. Populasi penelitian ini adalah seluruh siswa kelas VII SMP Negeri 3 Natar semester genap tahun pelajaran 2018/2019 sebanyak 126 siswa yang terdistribusi ke dalam empat kelas. Dua kelas diambil secara acak sebagai sampel dengan satu kelas sebagai kelas eksperimen dan satu kelas sebagai  kelas kontrol. Penelitian ini menggunakan the randomized pretest-posttest control group design. Data penelitian diperoleh melalui tes uraian pada materi perbandingan. Analisis data penelitian ini menggunakan   Hasil penelitian menunjukkan peningkatan pemahaman konsep matematis siswa yang mengikuti PBL lebih tinggi dari pada peningkatan pemahaman konsep matematis siswa yang mengikuti pembelajaran konvensional, tetapi proporsi siswa yang memiliki pemahaman konsep matematis terkategori baik tidak lebih dari  banyaknya siswa yang mengikuti PBL. Abstract

Abstract: This study was aimed to develop the performance assesment instrument on the practice of electrolyte and non-electrolyte solution, to describe the characteristics in terms of legibility, construction,  implementation of product, and to describe the teachers responses on the performance of developed. The design of this research was Research and Development (RD). The result of expert validation toward assessment instrument showed the level readable realibility, construction, and implementation of the performance assesment instrument equal to 91,11%, 84%, and 100%; respectively. The teachers gave very good responses to the legibility content, construction, and implementation of the performance assesment instrument with percentage were 96,67%, 96%, and 96,67% respectively.  The conclusion obtained from this research is the performance of developed were excellent.Keywords: assessment performance instrument on experiment, electrolyte solution development. Abstrak: Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengembangkan instrumen asesmen kinerja praktikum larutan elektrolit dan non elektrolit, mendeskripsikan karakteristiknya dari segi keterbacaan, konstruksi dan keterpakaian produk, serta mendeskripsikan tanggapan guru kimia terhadap instrumen yang dikembangkan. Desain penelitian yang digunakan adalah Research and Development (RD). Hasil validasi ahli terhadap instrumen asesmen kinerja yang dikembangkan menunjukkan aspek keterbacaan 91,11%; aspek konstruksi 84%; dan aspek keterpa¬kaian 100 %; yang termasuk dalam kategori sangat tinggi. Guru juga telah memberikan tanggapan dengan sangat baik terhadap aspek keterbacaan, konstruksi dan keterpakaian produk dengan persentase masing-masing 96,67%, 96%, dan 96,67%.   Kesimpulan yang diperoleh pada penelitian ini yaitu instrumen asesmen kinerja praktikum yang dikembang¬kan memiliki kriteria sangat baik.Kata kunci: instrumen asesmen kinerja praktikum, larutan elektrolit, pengembangan.DOI: http://dx.doi.org/10.23960/jpmipa/v20i1.pp23-29

Abstract

Abstract: Effectiveness of Pre-Lecture Quiz to Improving the Critical Thinking. This research was aimed to describe the effectiveness of Pre-Lecture Quiz to improving student’s critical thinking skill on Arrhenius acid-base topic. The research method used was quasi experimental with non-equivalen pretest-posttest control group design. The sample selection was done by cluster random sampling, and XI IPA 4 is obtained as experimental class and XI IPA 5 as control class. The effectiveness of Pre-Lecture Quiz was showed by the significant difference for average n-Gain of flexible thinking skill between the control and experiment class, for control class was 0.53 with middle categorize and for experiment class was 0.70 with high cateogorize. The conclusion of this research is effective Pre-Lecture Quiz and has a high effect size to improving the ability of critical thinking on Arrhenius acid-base topic. Keywords: critical thinking, Pre-Lecture Quiz, Arrhenius acid-base  Abstrak: Efektivitas Pre-Lecture Quiz untuk Meningkatkan Keterampilan Berpikir Kritis Siswa. Metode penelitian yang digunakan adalah kuasi eksperimen dengan non-equivalen pretest-posttest control group design. Pemilihan sampel dilakukan secara cluster random sampling, dan diperoleh kelas XI IPA 4 sebagai kelas eksperimen dan XI IPA 5 sebagai kelas kontrol. Efektivitas Pre-Lecture Quiz ditunjukkan oleh perbedaan rata-rata n-Gain keterampilan berpikir kritis yang signifikan antara kelas kelas kontrol dan eksperimen, yaitu kelas kelas kontrol sebesar 0,53 dengan kategori “sedang” dan eksperimen sebesar 0,70 dengan kategori “tinggi”. Abstract

Abstract: The Effect of Guided Discovery Learning Towards Student’s Mathematical Problem Solving and Self-Efficacy. This experimental research aimed to find out of effect of guided discovery learning model towards student’s problem solving skill and self-efficacy. The population in this research was all students of grade 8th of SMPN 12 Bandarlampung in academic year 2018/2019 as many as 299 students, that distributed into ten classes. The student of class VIII B as many as 28 students and class VIII C as many as 31 students were selected as research samples by cluster random sampling technique. The design used in this research was the pretest-posttest control group design. The data in this research was quantitative data that obtained by mathematical problem solving test and self-efficacy scale. The  data were analized used -test and Mann-Whitney  test with . The result of analysis data was known that there’s been a change in the student’s problem solving skill and student’s self-efficacy. Those change indicate that there is an increase of the data student’s problem solving skill and student’s self-efficacy through guided discovery learning model was higher than the data of student’s problem solving skill and student’s self-efficacy through non-guided discovery learning model. Populasi dalam penelitian ini adalah seluruh siswa kelas VIII SMP Negeri 12 Bandarlampung tahun pelajaran 2018/2019 sebanyak 299 siswa yang terdistribusi dalam sepuluh kelas. Siswa kelas VIII B sebanyak 28 siswa dan VIII C sebanyak 31 siswa terpilih sebagai sampel penelitian yang diambil dengan teknik cluster random sampling. Desain yang digunakan adalah pretest-posttest control group design. Data penelitian berupa data kuantitatif yang diperoleh dari hasil tes kemampuan pemecahan masalah matematis dan skala self-efficacy. Analisis data dalam penelitian ini menggunakan uji- dan uji Mann-Whitney  dengan . Dari hasil analisis data terdapat perubahan pada kemampuan pemecahan masalah matematis dan self-efficacy siswa. Perubahan tersebut ditunjukkan dengan adanya peningkatan pada kemampuan pemecahan masalah dan self-efficacy siswa dengan model guided discovery learning yang lebih tinggi daripada data kemampuan pemecahan masalah matematis dan self-efficacy siswa dengan model non-guided discovery learning. Dengan demikian, model guided discovery learning berpengaruh terhadap kemampuan pemecahan masalah matematis dan self-efficacy siswa. Kata kunci: guided discovery learning, pemecahan masalah matematis, self-efficacy
