Abstract

The research was conducted to find out the influence of Group Investigation (GI) of Cooperative Learning methods toward the student’s ability of mathematical reasoning. The research design was quasi-experimental the nonequivalent posttest-only control group design consisting of one experimental class (Group Investigation of Cooperative Learning) and one control class. The research population was all the second-semester students of VIII grade of MTs Negeri 1 Lampung Timur in the academic year of 2015/2016. The research instruments used were mathematical reasoning ability test. Data Analyze mathematical reasoning ability was used independent sample t-test. The results showed that: (1) mathematical reasoning ability using Group Investigation of Cooperative Learning was higher than conventional learning.Keywords: Mathematical Reasoning Ability, Group Investigation (GI) of Cooperative Learning

Abstract

The products developed are based teaching materials realistic mathematics education. The purpose of this research is (1) Develop products in the form of teaching materials based on realistic mathematics education they deserve. (2) To determine the effectiveness of teaching materials based on realistic mathematics education on a linear program material. Development steps used is seeking potential and problems, collect data, product design, design validation, design revisions, product testing, product revision, utility testing, product revision, and mass production. The study population was students of class X Vocational High School Muhammadiyah 3 Metro and sample are learners class X1 (experimental group) and learners class X2 (control group). Validation results showed a very decent category with the percentage of 80,72%. The test results showed a small group categorized by the percentage of 69%. The test results showed a large group instructional materials primarily to the percentage of 77% feasible and effective in its use based on the average learning outcomes of students in large groups. Based on this, it can be concluded that (1) developed teaching materials eligible for use in learning. (2) The teaching materials are effective in learning

Abstract

The aims of this research were to increase the student learning outcomes by implementation of cooperative learning model of Make A Match. The method of the research was Classroom Action Reserach. The data collected by the observation sheet, formatif test sheet (test student learning outcomes). The results of the study implementation of cooperative learning model of Make A Match proven to improve learning performance followed by increased the student learning outcomes, enthusiastic students to participate in learning. The result showed that  Percentage student learning outcomes 41.6 % in the first cycle to 93.3 % in the second cycle .Keywords: student learning outcomes, cooperative learning model of Make A Match

Abstract

The aim of this research is to improvestudent’s mathematics achievment in aljabar by using TGT method. The research was conducted on SMP N 3 Batanghari. This action research was executed in two cycles, each consisted of one action which was applied in 3-4 meeting with 2 x 35 minutes long duration.The analyzed resultof cycle 1 and 2 data observation was: the activity was clearly improved at second cycle by students actively answeres the problem that proposed by the teacher. By the observation data, it clearly showes that implementation of TGT on aljabar competence gave enough significant contribution toward students learning achievment. The result of average data observation was 65,43 with 13 unsuccessful students, with standard classical 66,67%. On the second cycle, the average score was 69,43 while the number of students who success 70% with 9 students who field. Although the result was not significant, it’s enough to prove that there is student’s learning achievement. The 3,33% improvement still make the researcher smile because the aljabar material is more difficult than other. Beside that problem, the average score of the class which reached 69,35 was difficult to be fulfilled, but by using TGT method, the score can be reached.Keywords: TGT Method, Aljabar, dan Achievment

Abstract

Discovery learning is a learning that involves students in the process of mental activity through a brainstorm, to discuss, and try it yourself, so that children can learn to be independent. Resulting in the discovery-based learning problem solving is to let children discover things on their own and group investigation that emphasizes problem solving based on a debriefing activities and student participation. The classes drawn into the sample, the class as a class given control based discovery learning and problem solving one class another group investigation given learning-based problem solving. Data analysis techniques in this study using Ttes. From the results of this study concluded that: (a) In the first experiment class that implements learning model-based problem solving group investigation obtained average value of learning outcomes at 73.10 while the experimental class II implementing discovery-based learning problem solving obtained average value postest average of 66.55. (b) There are significant differences between the results of student learning in the class that implements the discovery-based learning and problem solving class that implements the learning model based problem solving group investigation. Student results in learning problem solving based group investigation better on the class that implements the model-based discovery learning problem solving. Keywords: discovery learning, group investigation, learning numerical methods,  problem solving

Abstract

This research aimed to describe the effectiveness of the open-ended and CTL approach in terms of creative thinking. This research was quasi-experimental study design with nonequivalent pretest-posttest design goup. The research population was all students in class VII SMP Negeri 1 Sekampung which consisted of five classes. The research sample consisted of two classes is determined randomly. First experimental group was treated the open-ended and experimental group II were treated CTL approach. The one sample t-test carried out to investigate the effectiveness of the open-ended and CTL approach. Data collection techniques used were tests. Engineering tests used to measure student creative thinking on basic competencies: 1) identify the properties of a rectangle, square, trapezoid, parallelogram, rhombus and a kite; 2) calculate the circumference and area of a rectangle up and use it in problem solving both before and after treatment. The results of the research show that the open-ended and CTL approach is effective in terms of creative thinking. Keywords: open-ended, contextual teaching and learning, creative thinking

Abstract

The aims of this research were to increase the mathematics result of study by implementation of Think Talk Write (TTW) learning  with picture media. The method of the research was Classroom Action Reserach. The instrument of data collection used test. Technique of data analysis used qualitative and quantitative analysis. The research result showed mean the result of study in cycle I is 56,30 and cycle II is 76,10. Abstract

The purpose of this research is developing the cooperative model by using the realistic approach in Mathematic Statistics I. As the form of development and research, collecting data done through  observation method, questionnaire, interviewing, and a test. The step of  this research are introduction study, plan, develop and evaluation. Based on the introduction study, was developed of cooperative instructional and realistic approach instructional. Syntax in cooperative instructional model done by realistic approach  is running well and  there are  increasing of activity, response and student’s learning achievement, and difference of  probability explanation using realistic approach. Syntax instructional of the model are 1) material explanation 2) group discussion by using context, model, alternative in problem-solving and finally concluding of all, 3) the group member is given the quiz individually, and 4) the score and reward are given to the group. Keywords: cooperative instructional model, mathematic statistics I, realistic approach

Abstract

Critical thinking skills of mathematics mastered by students is very important, especially in the competition of globalitation era. An approach that can improve both of them is contextual approach in learning. This research aims are to determine: The Improvement of students critical thinking skills between the class which used contextual approach in learning and the one which used conventional learning. Quasi-experiment methods was used in the research  and the design was "pretest-posttest non equivalent control group". Population of this research was the students of SMP Negeri 3 Menggala and class VIII C and VIII D as the research sample, technique of samples used purposive sampling. Data collected by the instrument test critical thinking of mathematics. The improvement of critical thinking skills data analysed by using the t- test. The findings of this study indicated:  The Improvement of students critical thinking skills between the class which used contextual approach in learning was better than which used conventional learning. Abstract

The aims of the research is to describe the thinking process at mild intellectual disability students to solve mathematics problem. The research was a descriptive qualitative. The subjects of the research was students of grade eight SMPN 5 Metro. Technique analyzing of the data were: (1) classifying the data, (2) presenting the data, and (3) concluding the data in each categories. The results of the research showed that thinking process for mild intellectual disability students : (1) mild intellectual disability students can establishnment understanding in thinking process; (2) mild intellectual disability students can’t establishnment opinion and students cant’t using the right strategy to solve mathematics problem; (3) mild intellectual disability can’t give conclusion.Keywords: mathematics problem, mild intellectual disability, thinking process
