Abstract

Student understanding is  how a student is able to maintain, differentiated, assumed, explains, and What has been received. Understanding rather than merely thinking activities, but did experience the mind (experience life). The things to do  to achieve student understanding  is by ways student actively exploring learn directly.   Approach to natural roaming  around alternative in learning biology. In this approach, student are required actively exploring, learning envirotment as a source of biology, will be able to increase student’s understanding. Conclusions of this study, learning opproach to natural roaming  around with experimental methods can increase student’s understanding in SMA Muhammadiyah 2 Metro school year 2011/2012 of pre-PTK to the cycle 2 be 54% and suggestion that research can be used increase the student’s understanding.Kata Kunci: Jelajah Alam Sekitar, Aktivitas Belajar, Hasil Belajar

Abstract

This research aims to implement the model learning cycle "5E" accompanied by worksheets to increase activity, science process skills and student learning outcomes. This model provides student involvement and hands-on experience for students, develop a collaborative manner with the group and share your knowledge with other students. Conclusions of this study is the implementation model of learning cycle "5E" with worksheets may enhance the activity, science process skills, and student learning outcomes of  X8 in the second semester  at senior high school 4th Metro on academic year 2011/2012. The increase can be observed as follows: the activity of reading the literature by 23%, experiment activity (drawing objects of observation) by 25%, in a group discussion activity by 23%, the activity of asking questions by 17%, and argues activity by 10%. In the process skills of science students on aspects of the skill increased by 25% using the tool, the object classifies 30%, the cooperation within the group by 22%, delivering the acquisition of 23%. Learning outcomes of students has increased by 4% which is in cycle I of 71% to 75% in cycle II. As for the improvement of pre-survey to cycle II by 56% which is 19% in pre-survey become to 75% in Cycle II. Kata kunci: model learning cycle "5E" disertai LKS, aktivitas belajar, keterampilan proses sains, hasil belajar

Abstract

The purpose of the research were to determine differences in seed growth sangkuriang catfish (Clarias sp) between feeding silk worms (Tubifex) with feed pellets ando determine which of the treatments produced seed growth sangkuriang catfish (Clarias sp) the greater of feeding silk worms (Tubifex) and feed pellets. The research was conducted in  Iringmulyo Metro East, Metro City, on July 21 until August 19, 2013. Samples at each of the two treatments was 50 sangkuriang fry catfish (Clarias sp). Data were analyzed by using the formula t test to analysis the equality of two on average. To test the equality of two average gained 8.5 thit > tdaf 2.00 at significance level α = 0.05, so thit > tdaf, then reject H0, which means there is a real difference in the growth of the seed length sangkuriang catfish (Clarias sp) between nutrients obtained from food hair worms (Tubifex) with feed pellets. Sangkuriang seed catfish (Clarias sp) with a source of nutrients feed hair worms (Tubifex) with a source of nutrients feed pellets can be used as an alternative learning objects on the growth and development material. Kata kunci: cacing sutra, pelet, pertumbuhan lele sangkuriang.

Abstract

This research was a quasi experimental aimed to investigate the influenced of inquiry learning model to generic science skills of students class XI IPA SMAN 1 Pangkajene Sidrap on buffer solution subject matter. Research design used “Nonequivalent Control Group Design” that consist of two variable there are inquiry learning model as dependent variable and generic science skills as independent variable. Population in this research is students class XI IPA SMAN 1 Pangkajene Sidrap academic year 2012/2013 which amount 240 students. The sample choosen by class random sampling and have choosen XI IA 1 as experiment class consist of 34 students and XI IA 2 as control class consist of 35 students. Instrument that used is generic science skills test (KGS) were integrated into buffer solution subject matter that includes indirect observation, sense of scale, logical frame, causality, mathematical modeling and concept formation.  The data was collected by given generic science skills test in pretest and posttest by objective test. Data were analyzed by descriptive statistics and inferential statistics. The descriptive results showed that generic science skills student of experiment class get N-gain average 0.71 in high categories and control class get N-gain average 0.31 in medium categories. The inferential statistics analysis showed that tcalculated 7,17 > ttable 1,68 in significant level α = 0.05, so H0 failed or H1 accepted. The result of analysis describe that inquiry learning model have positive influenced to generic skills science of students on buffer solution subject matter.Kata Kunci: Inquiry, Keterampilan Generik Sains

Abstract

The research was conducted in the Laboratory of Science Education, University of Muhammadiyah Metro. The research is a descriptive analysis, morphological observations were made by identifying the nematode parasite found that Trichostrongylus sp, Strongyloides sp, Trichuris sp, Trichuris sp. The results showed the prevalence and intensity values is the large number of guinea pigs to parasites divided by the number of guinea pigs that are 100% inspected. While the intensity is seen from the total number of nematode parasites that infect in the number of guinea pigs infected with a parasite that is 2,3. The population in this study was 10 cows pigs (Cavia cobaya ) . This study took a part in the digestion of marmots (Cavia cobaya ) the intestines and stomach , then cut and taken part in the large intestine and be Indian ink or coloring 2-3 drops to be easily identified microscopically . Put the preparations into a petri dish , and given alcohol as much as 96 % with 2-3 drops . Taking part in the examination of the large intestine to taste then used the nematode worm structure with Indian ink dye to be observed , and placed in the glass object . Observed with a microscope. Document if the parasites are found by using the camera Erlina 2008. Identification of the observations made have found 3 types of parasites that attack the guinea pig (Cavia cobaya) is Strongyloides sp on samples 1,2,3,4,5,6 , dan10 . Then parasite Trichuris sp species found in samples 8 and 9. Trichostrongylus sp parasite species found in sample 7 . Parasitic nematodes found were 3 types of Trichostrongylus sp, Strongyloides sp, Trichuris sp. Number of samples that have been observed as many as 10 cows pigs (Cavia cobaya) , with the overall result is as much as 23 tails parasites.               Kata kunci: nematode parasit, marmut (Cavia cobaya), sumber belajar biologi.

Abstract

This study aims to get a dose of the best concentrations of liquid waste in order to produce rapid mycelial growth and production of white oyster mushrooms with optimal fresh weight. In this study using Analysis of Variance (ANOVA) One Direction with four treatments, each treatment be repeated six times. The treatments tested were (A) the concentration of liquid waste 25%/L water/ treatment, (B) the concentration of liquid waste 30%/L water/treatment (C) concentration of liquid waste 35%/L water/treatment and (D) control. The results showed that the concentration of industrial wastewater know 25%/L water/highest treatment effect on the growth and production of white oyster mushroom (Pleurotus ostreatus) with a mean weight of 129.33 gr fresh row A; B 105.5 gr; C 76.17 gr; and D 90.83 gr. The results could be used as a source of learning biology at the high school level with the subject matter of the class X Waste and Recycling Waste. In addition, this study also can be a reference for researchers and the general public. Kata Kunci: limbah cair, jamur, produksi, biologi.

Abstract

The objectives in this research are : (1) To know whether is any difference the average of biology instructional by using model of cooperative learning STAD and NHT type. (2) To know which one more high  the  average of biology instructional by using model of cooperative learning STAD and NHT type.This research was conducted at the seventh grade of junior high school SMP N 1 Batanghari academic year 2011/2012. The sample of the reearch is VIIc and VIIE from five classes using cluster random sampling technique. From the hypothesis testing by using the formula of ttes, can be concluded that 1). There was any significant different the average of biology instructional by using model of cooperative learning STAD and NHT type. 2). The average of biology instructional between students’ learning using model of cooperative learning STAD more high from the average of biology instructional by using model of cooperative learning NHT.Based on the result of the research, the reseacher seggest to increase the instructional of students’ biology study about human organization material more effective using model of cooperative learning STAD type.Kata kunci: STAD, NHT, Hasil Belajar Biologi

Abstract

Learning achievement is a students capability while and after accept learning experience learning. Learning process involved students activity is needed, so that  to give the meaning and the real learning of students. GI cooperative learning model is a learning model involved whice all of students activity in learning process. In learning process the students find knowledge independenly because they are active and teacher just only as a facilitator. The conclusion of this research is the GI cooperative learning model can improve the result of study students XI IPA SMA Kosgoro Sekampung school year 2011/2012 from  pre-classroom action research to the second cycle for 47,37% and researcher suggests that the GI cooperative learning model can be used to increase learning achievement of biology learning. Kata Kunci: Group Investigation, Aktivitas Belajar, Hasil Belajar

Abstract

The research was conducted in Notoharjo Trimurjo Lampung Tengah at January 10 2012 until April 05 2012. The purpose from the research were 1) to know the effect distance of plants with tomato productions. 2) to know the effect of distance of plants that more exact with tomato production. The population of the research was 96 tomato plant with 4 do it and 3 crop. The total sample of plant was bruoght 32 of tomato plants. The research was conducted by using experimental design especially Completed Randomized Design (RAL), and the data analysis by using  ANOVA and BNJ test. In varians analys have the value from  do it 5,97 >= 2,95 to warel of real level 0,05. So that push  and received H1. And at BNJ test we can know average from other test A=1,5;B=1,37;C=1,75; and D=2. From this research we can know the congclution that (1) this have a influence of a plants with a tomato productions and (2) plant with using a plants distance 70 x 50 cm give a better influence with a plants tomato production. From the result the research can give an advantage to source of study biology at the growth and development material. Kata Kunci: jarak tanam, produksi tomat, sumber belajar biologi.

Abstract

The research was conducted on February 2, 2012 until April 30, 2012 at the Green House in University of Muhammadiyah Metro. The purposes of this study are (1) to determine the effect of induction of gibberellin on the growth and production of red pepper plants (Capsicum annum L). (2) To determine the induction of 200 ppm gibberellin can provide growth and production of red pepper (Capsicum annum L) is best. This study used statistical design of experiments using the Rancangan Acak Lengkap (RAL) and the data analysis by using the path on ANAVA toward the production chilies with 3 treatments and 1 control. Each trial has treatments, as follow: without gibberellin induction as a control (H0), 150 ppm gibberellin induction (H1), induction of gibberellin is 200 ppm (H2), and induction of gibberellin is 250 ppm (H3). The population in this study is overall  of the 3 treatments and 1 control with 4 replications, and the total is 16 red pepper plant. The sample in this study is the whole of plants, the total is 12 samples of red pepper plant. Based on the research results can be concluded that;  (1) There is an induction effect of gibberellin on the growth and production of red pepper plants (2) Induction of gibberellin is 200 ppm delivers growth and crop production the best chili. For education research results can be used as a learning resource material of growth and developmental biology.  Kata Kunci:  induksi giberelin, pertumbuhan cabai merah, produksi cabai merah, sumber belajar biologi.
