Abstract

The objectives of this research are to know the effect of STAD strategy toward the science process skills on different academic ability. This research was conducted at Senior High School students in Metro City, by using pretest-posttest nonequivalent control group design with factorial 2 x 2. The data was analysed by Ancova test. Based on the data analysis and discussion of this research show that there was an effect of STAD strategy toward the science process skills students, there was no a different between high and low ability students, there was no an effect of STAD strategy and academic ability interaction toward the science process skills students. Based on the result of this research, the researcher suggests that biology teachers in Metro City can be implemented the STAD strategy in biology learning to increasing science process skills students.Kata kunci: Keterampilan Proses Sains, STAD.

Abstract

The constructivist learning emphasizes that in learning a student constructs his knowledge with new knowledge which is obtained. The ability to construct knowledge relates to the ability of critical thinking, activity, and character. Therefore, constructivist learning as a device for the student to develop critical thinking activity, and character. The purposes of this research are to know the contribution of TPSS strategy toward the critical thinking, activity, character building. This research was implemented in the even semester academic year 2009/2010 in Biology Education Study Program FKIP UM Metro. Based on the research, the conclusion can be formulated that there was a contribution of TPSS strategy towards the learning activity, critical thinking, character building. The researcher suggests that teachers need to implement TPSS in biology learning, especially in Biology Education Study Program FKIP UM Metro.

Abstract

This Reseach aims to study the effect of variation and dose morinda fruit that most effective applicable to mortality gold snail disease, to use product of research as design source study of biologi Junior High School class VIII. Researching on education Laboratory Muhammadiyah Metro of University at November 2012. The design of research employs analisis of varians non-parametrik with Kruskal-Wallis test with four treatments an three time replication. First treatments is control (not having dose), second consentration 50gr/L, third consentration 100gr/L, and fouth consentration 150 gr/L. Product of research to indicated morinda fruit effective to mortality gold snail  disease. Indication is transformation of occured such as descend activity of consume food and mobility, operculum to close, having mucus, not respons, and according  part soft of body to transformation of color to be chalky color or bad color, body of snail to exit for the hard outer layer of body skin, and the gold snail floating on a top suface. This condition indicate that a chemical composite saponin in morinda fruit to affect the process of chemical in a organism, central nerve, and respiration of gold snail.Kata Kunci: Buah mengkudu, mortalitas keong mas, sumber belajar biologi.

Abstract

The objective of this research are to increase the student activities and  learning  achievement in Biology Learning. This Research conducted using Classroom Action Research two cycles. The result of this research shows that life skills oriented biology learning contributed the increase of students’ activities and their learning achievement. It can be seen from  the increase of students’ learning activities from 67,5% in cycle I  to  91% cycle II.  Contextual Teaching and Learning (CTL) approach also able to increase the student achievements. In cycle I, the average score of student is 70,53 increasing to 79,83.  From this research, the researcher suggest that Contextual Teaching and Learning (CTL) approach should be applied, especially to integrate the values of IMTAQ in Biology learning and other subject

Abstract

Learning achievement is a students capability while and after accept learning experience learning. Learning process involved students activity is needed, so that  to give the meaning and the real learning of students. GI cooperative learning model is a learning model involved whice all of students activity in learning process. In learning process the students find knowledge independenly because they are active and teacher just only as a facilitator. The conclusion of this research is the GI cooperative learning model can improve the result of study students XI IPA SMA Kosgoro Sekampung school year 2011/2012 from  pre-classroom action research to the second cycle for 47,37% and researcher suggests that the GI cooperative learning model can be used to increase learning achievement of biology learning. Kata Kunci: Group Investigation, Aktivitas Belajar, Hasil Belajar

Abstract

Students learning outcomes is a change of the students  based their esperienced, that is learning outcomes from learning process that the students doing while learning and appers from students showed by their score. This result got from students activity during learning process. The portofolio based learning demand students as self regulated learners and active in the learning process guided by teacher to gets learning purpose. The classroom action research was conducted in grade XG MAN 2 Metro academic year 2011/2012. The conclusion of this research was the portofolio based learning could increase the students’s achievement in  grade XG MAN 2 Metro year 2011/2012 from the cycle I to the cycle II by 50% and researcher sugests that the portofolio based learning be able used to the increases the students’s achievement of biology learning.  Kata kunci: Pembelajaran Berbasis Portofolio, Aktivitas Belajar, Hasil Belajar

Abstract

in general, method of inquiry guide can increasing the capability of metakognitive and result of students. metacognition is thinking about thinking. Metacognition goes beyond thinking (meta+cognition) in that it is the active awareness and knowledge of one’s own thinking processes. Metacognitive skill are sometimes refered to as “self direction skills. Metacognitive could be different between the high and low student. This result showe in research to class ten of three grade student of senior high school in PGRI Punggur. The result showed so that using inquiry guide-metacognitive to the aspect of self-planning with activity formulate problem and formulate guess while with score applying 66,78, aspect self-monitoring with activity collect information and testing guess while with score applying 61,10, and aspect self evaluating with activity conclude and summary with score applying 71,37. Kata kunci: Guide Inquiry, kemampuan Metakognisi, Hasil Belajar

Abstract

Improving learning quality in 21st can not be separated from contextual learning and student-centered learning paradigm. The contextual lesson study program conducted in learning-forest prototype to build a learning community. The objectives of this research were to improve learning activities of postgraduate students in Biology Education department and to build a learning community. The implementation of lesson study was conducted in the Biology Learning Innovation subject for postgraduate students while practicing to observe open lesson in the undergraduate students which used learning forest-prototype. The postgraduate students took roles as planner, observer, and reflector in the plan, do (open lesson), and see (reflection) activities. The implementation was done in three cycles in even semester of academic year 2015/2016. Students learned collaboratively and contextually. The postgraduate students learning activities were observed by six observers from lecturer colleagues. The research results showed that the students were able to implement planning, open lesson, and reflection properly. The average of students learning activity grade was 91.11% from all of students, with the grade averages for planning, open lesson, and reflection activities were 88.89%, 93.33%, and 91.11% respectively. The implementation of this lesson study in the learning forest-prototype can be done in other relevant subjects to strengthen learning activities.

Abstract

Pesisir Barat Regency in Lampung has abundant marine biological wealth that has not been widely known and utilized by the community, one of them is macro algae. The objectives of the research were to identify the types of macro algae and to explains the potential use of macro algae in the Pesisir Barat Lampung Region. The study used cruise method. The findings were identified by experts to validate the results of classification, morphology, and qualitative studies regarding the potential use and benefits of macro algae. From the results of this study, 15 species of macro algae were found on Tanjung Setia Beach included; 3 species of green algae (Chlorophyta) consist of  Halimeda opuntia L., Caulerpa racemosa F., Ulva lactuca L .; 7 species of brown algae (Phaeophyta) consist of  Padina pavonica L., Padina australis H., Sargassum vulgare C.A., Sargassum polycystum C.A., Turbinaria ornata J.A., Turbinaria ornata J.A., Fucus vesiculosus L.; and 5 species of red algae (Rhodophyta), consist of  Corallina officinalis L., Gigartina pistilla S., Gigartina disticha S., Gracilaria verrucosa, H., Rhodymenia pseudopalmat J.V.L.The benefits of this research for society to provide insight into the potential use of macro algae which can be utilized in many fields. For students, provide information on the biodiversity of macro algae in the sea.
