<![CDATA[Accounting practices is the solution of the problems that often occur in Small and Medium Enterprises (SMEs), namely financial management problems. Accounting is used as a standard to facilitate SMEs in making the financial statements that can be accounted for and understood by the external and internal parties. Accounting practices should have been known or even practiced by SMEs. The purpose of this study is then to know and what kind of accounting practices are done by SMEs and to analyze compliance with the Principles of Financial Accounting Standards (PSAK). This type of research is a qualitative study with a descriptive approach. The data are obtained from interviews and observations. Informants in this study are 5 people consisting of 3 owners and 2 operational managers of SMEs in Pandanwangi. The results reveal that the financial statements of SMEs are still modest which is done by recording transactions that often occur in the business and PSAK are still not understood by SMEs. This eventually has been affected by insufficient educational background and lack of socialization or training from the government or agencies that are in charge of SMEs activities. As a result, the importance of PSAK still cannot be understood well. Regarding this, SMEs are expected to apply financial statements based on PSAK later.]]>

<![CDATA[The advancement of education in Indonesia, especially Universities tinged with a large problem. One of these problems is the lack of relevance between universities and business and industry (DUDI). In order to overcome these problem, Vocational Education at UB then has designed program the so-called “Kuliah Keahlian”. The implementation of KK aims to provide students majoring in Business and Information Management Expertise Multimedia an opportunity to know the business world and the real world industry (facts), to understand what is really happening in the world of business and industry, to apply the theories that have been obtained in the regular course (KR), and to improve their confidence for facing the fact that it turns out they are capable and highly master practical jobs that exist in the DUDI and to increase public trust in the ability and mastery of vocational program graduates. This study is qualitative whose result shows that the implementation of KK is quite well-done and it has given positive impact to the students which is shown by the increasing number of students who already have their own business (52% of students) after the implementation of KK.]]>

<![CDATA[This study is aimed at investigating students’ learning needs which are taken from students’ questionnnaire about self-evaluation and course evaluation particularly about speaking skill in English specific purposes course. The questionnaire includes four variables, namely learning motivation, attitude towards teaching method, attitude towards teaching materials, and problems faced by students. 449 non-English department students become the respondents, and the questionnaire results yield students learning needs and evaluation. Some teaching methods are used in the teaching of speaking, namely poster display, presenting advertisement, and cellphone video recording. By knowing the students’ learning needs and learning evaluation, teachers can decide effective teaching methods that can raise students’ motivation in learning English]]>

<![CDATA[Small Medium Enterprise (SME) is one of the country's economy supports .Some of the SME products are able to compete with other exported products. However, some may only survive in the local area and are less able to compete with others. This is the problem faced by producers of Tempe crispy chips, Poetra Ardani. The problem is caused by the absence of the product’s visual identity as a brand. As a result, the consumers are not aware of the product’s brand which then results in reducing the sale of the products. In addition, souvenir centers are mostly located in particular areas and the products mostly have similar visual identity even though the brands are different. This is why a brand might be less memorable and cannot establish an emotional connection with their customers. To solve these problems, repositioning needs to be done in which a brand gives different concept in consumers’ mind. With this differentiation method, a brand can explore what distinguishes between one brand and others. The differences of each brand are the ones that will be communicated continuously through visual media such as logos, packaging, promotion, gimmick in order to make the brands memorable for customers.]]>

<![CDATA[Implementation of the internal control system in an enterprise organization aims to preserve wealth, check the accuracy and reliability of accounting data, and to encourage efficiency and policy compliance management. The evaluation of accounting systems of acceptance premium and payment of out of contract claims at X Company is intended to provide input and suggestions for the accomplishment of the internal control system objectives. This study aims to investigate whether accounting systems of acceptance premium and payment of out of contract claims are already appropriate with the objectives of internal control. The method used was qualitative research with a case study approach. The result shows that there are some weaknesses in the implementation of accounting systems of acceptance premium and payment of out of contract claims. The systems are not consistent with the objectives of internal control. It is then suggested for the company to receive a premium in the form of a check on behalf of policy holders, so that collectors cannot do fraud. Additionally, for accounting system of advanced premium acceptance, it is suggested that Plan Visit sheet or PP.17 is copied and given a printed serial number. For accounting system of payment of out of contract claims, it is suggested that the agent is not involved in it. Also, service to policy holders, both in the implementation of premiums and payment of claims receipts, need to be improved]]>

<![CDATA[This study aims to test the influence of profitability, solvability, liquidity and public ownership on delay of financial report publication. The sample is 51 non-manufacture companies listed in Indonesian Stock Exchange which are selected by using purposive sampling method. This study was tested by using multiple regression. The result shows that profitability, solvability, and liquidity influence the delay of financial report publication. However, ownership does not influence the delay of financial report publication.]]>

<![CDATA[City Branding is ane of efforts to compete in this globalization era. Regarding this, Malang City has done an effort of pictorial mark or brand identity by using mascot. Mascot can display interesting visuals and give meaning in accordance with the purpose of the city branding of Malang city. The mascot which was inaugurated last December is expected to represent the vision of the city branding concept of Malang City. However, some parties are still questioning the suitability of the mascot as a reflection of the people of Malang. Some argue that the color of this mascot resembles the color of the mascot of the football club Surabaya Persebaya. To examine this mascot deeper, this study uses the Semiotics method in assessing the implicit signs of the mascot. Semiotic theory used is the theory of Roland Barthes in dissect sign codes. Then the sample of visual mascot was downloaded from the official website maskot malang, namely Osidanji.com. The findings show that the figure of lions and birds of war on the mascot is considered appropriate because the lion as a leader is considered capable of being a role model for cities in eastern Java. Furthermore, the green color used in the mascot has nothing to do wuth the sign of Persebaya. The meaning of the green color of the mascot implies beauty, fertility and hospitality.]]>

<![CDATA[Coworking space is a place used as a work environment shared by communities or people who share the same vision. For collaboration activities, data files are often exchanged among the people involved. The use of portable storage media for file exchange becomes less effective for collaborative work. This study aims to implement cloud storage technology to see the performance that is used as a medium for data storage that can be accessed on the local network. The cloud storage is implemented using Raspberry Pi 3 hardware and an external hard drive. The software uses the Raspbian Pixel operating system with Nimbus applications to run cloud storage functions. The test results show that the system runs well in functionality. System performance is studied based on CPU usage indicating that maximum 5 users can perform concurrent data file upload activity for file size less than 100MB. Whereas if the file size is more than 1GB, only 3 clients can be served simultaneously.]]>

<![CDATA[Security in residential neighborhoods is one of the factors that is desired by its inhabitans. Variety of ways conducted by the residents to make a residence occupied by having a good level of security. One of them is by installing the security tools at his residence.The main objective of this research is to design and create a safety tool on the housing using a microcontroller and PC-based transmitter with a laser beam and the light sensor. Protection systems was created using components include: AT89C51 microcontroller,ADC 0804, laser, resistors, IC7805, and IC7406. The protection system was built using Delphi programming language and Assembler. A protection system works by turning on and steer it on a light sensor. The speed of the object can be when an object blocks the laser beam which is forwarded to thelight sensor. The speed of the object can be known at any object obstruct the laser beam which is forwarded to the light sensor. Information about this will be delivered by microcontroller to the PC as a sign of danger through a series of channels i.e RS 232.]]>

<![CDATA[Di dalam masyarakat kita, literasi masih belum menjadi budaya yang diminati. Peningkatan budaya literasi dapat dimulai dari sekolah melalui buku-buku perpustakaan. Untuk mendukung budaya literasi ini, maka sekolah harus memiliki sarana dan prasarana yang memadai, terutama dalam hal pengadaan buku perpustakaan. Permasalahan yang ada di perpustakaan MTs Assalam yang ada selama ini adalah koleksi buku yang minim dan buku yang ada tidak menarik untuk dibaca karena sebagian besar adalah buku teks. Selain itu, kondisi perpustakaan tidak dirawat dengan baik sehingga tidak menarik siswa untuk meminjamnya. Kegiatan Pengabdian Masyarakat ini bertujuan untuk menumbuhkan budaya literasi siswa MTs Assalam memalui peremajaan perpustakaan dan membenahi sistem administrasi dan sirkulasi buku. Selama pengabdian, tim menggalang donasi buku dan mencari sponsor untuk membeli buku baru di toko-toko buku berdiskon. Usaha ini membuahkan hasil dengan terkumpulnya 289 buku untuk peremajaan buku di MTs Assalam. Selama seminggu pembukaan perdana peremajaan buku perpustakaan di MTs Assalam, jumlah kunjungan siswa ke perpustakaan menunjukkan peningkatan yang baik bila dibandingkan sebelum sebelumnya. Buku yang dipinjam siswa tidak hanya dibawa pulang untuk dibaca, namun juga dibaca disekitar sekolah. Maka dapat disimpulkan bahwa pengabdian masyarakat di MTs Assalam dalam hal peremajaan buku mampu menumbuhkan budaya literasi siswa terutama dalam hal menumbuhkan kegemaran membaca. ]]>
