Abstract

Epistemology is the study of the source of knowledge or theories about science. Islamic epistemology views everything in a holistic manner that is not separate between aspects of the world and the hereafter, besides containing worldly values but also contains aspects of the afterlife. Epistemologically, knowledge in Islam is based on two things; first, through rational knowledge; secondly, through religious knowledge and experience, first is knowledge about beings and second is Divine reality. Therefore, in the philosophy of Islamic education, the source of knowledge is revelation over reason and the five senses. Revelation as the source of knowledge is what gives certainty to human reason about truth. Crisis of morality or human behavior is now an important factor occupying the epistemology base of true Islamic education, because education that is only able to educate intellectually and good skills is clearly considered a failure without being decorated with noble character.

Abstract

This article discusses about Arabic-Malay books that were written by scholars in the past and are still a source of Islamic learning in the midst of Acehnese society today. Many books that read Arabic-Malay were born during the Samudera Pasai Kingdom and the Kingdom of Aceh Darussalam. The Arabic-Malay books written by scholars at the time were an important heritage of Islamic scientific culture which is still the main reference for Islamic learning of Muslim societies today. Then what is the actual process of learning Arabic-Malay books today which takes place informally through study assemblies that are held independently by the community ?. What methods and books are used and what are the main objectives of learning this Arabic-Malay book in the midst of society? This question is what I am trying to answer in this article.

Abstract

Prophetic education is an educational model inspired by the educational model exemplified by Muhammad. The learning model practiced by the Prophet aims to form productive human beings and can contribute to the birth of scientific life that does not stop at the level of mere knowledge but can also be realized in daily life. Prophet Muhammad SAW. always make good as the main agenda and mission in each person's actions. He also became a human model that always rejected all forms of munkar and became evidence of the moral highness of the Prophet Muhammad. Therefore, his actions are often imaged as the Qur'an. Prophetic education is Islamic education based on values of humanization, liberation, and transcendence. These three pillars should be the central theme of Islamic education. First, calling on the righteous (ta`muruna bi al-ma'ruf). This can be understood as the spirit of fighting for humanitarian values. Second, preventing all forms of disobedience (wa tanhauna ‘an al-munkar). This point can be understood as an effort to liberate from all forms of oppression (liberation). Third, believe in Allah (wa tu’minuna billah) which means the idea of transcendence. A concept of faith that removes all forms of worship of God besides Allah SWT.
