Abstract

Hanjuang, mangosteen, putat, and tabelian plants are used by people of Lanjak deras Village as natural dyes for woven cloth and food so that they can be used as an alternative substitute synthesis indicators that are limited in a remote area. The purpose of the study is to determine the best type of solvent in extracting the samples, pH range, UV spectrum profiles, precision, and accuracy of the plant's extract as indicator. The sample was the plants that are used by the people of West Borneo as natural dyes, namely putat flower, tebelian stem, mangosteen leave, and hanjuang leave. Each sample was macerated with four types of solvents, namely aquadest, ethanol, methanol, and (1:1) ethanol:methanol, then the extract was testing by pH range. The extracts providing color changes were determined for its UV-Vis spectrum profile, stability, accuracy, and precision. The results showed that ethanol and methanol were suitable for extracting mangosteen leaves, methanol for putat flowers, ethanol for hanjuang leaves, and (1: 1) ethanol:methanol for tebelian stems. Mangosteen leaf extract, putat flower, and tebelian stem gave a pH range of 12-14, while hanjuang leaf extract did not change color. The phytochemical test results and UV spectrum profile of mangosteen leaf extract, putat flower, and tebelian stem indicated the presence of phenolic compounds. The powder and extract solution had high stability. Mangosteen leaf extract, putat flower, and tebelian stem had precision and accuracy with the medium category. These data indicated that mangosteen leaf extract, putat flower, and tebelian stem have potential as indicators of acid-base.

Abstract

Pemanfaatan abu sekam padi sebagai adsorben belum banyak diteliti meski telah digunakan pada berbagai keperluan. Oleh karena itu, penting dilakukan penelitian tentang laju reaksi kapasitas penyerapan adsorben pada abu sekam padi ini. Dengan memperhatikan sifat-sifat kinetika kimia pada sekam padi, dilakukan penelitian yang bertujuan untuk mengenali karakter abu sekam padi pada kapasitas penyerapannya. Penelitian dilakukan dengan metode pengujian pada dua persamaan adsorpsi kinetika yaitu Langmuir dan Freundlich pada perubahan konsentrasi NaOH. Hasil percobaan diketahui bahwa proses penyerapan NaOH mengikuti persamaan Langmuir dan Freundlich dengan r sebesar 0,973. Persamaan yang digunakan untuk menentukan kapasitas adsorpsi mengikuti persamaan Langmuir. Konsentrasi optimum NaOH yang diadsorpsi oleh abu sekam padi aktif adalah sebesar 22,163 mg/L dengan kapasitas adsorpsi sebesar 4.433 mg/g.

Abstract

This research's background is the importance of understanding the concept of chemical equilibrium material to understand the complex chemical interactions. This material is seen as one of the most difficult subjects in learning chemistry at the school and university level, so it requires a good understanding of studying it. A good and appropriate understanding of learning chemistry requires scientific thinking skills. This study aimed to analyze the effect of guided inquiry learning models based on multiple representations on student learning outcomes in chemical equilibrium material. The design of this study used a Pre-Experimental Design with a One-Shot Case Study model. The subjects in this study were 25 students of the Chemistry Education program at Billfath University who took the Basic Chemistry course. The data was collected using the Classroom Test of Scientific Reasoning (CTSR) instrument and test questions on the learning outcomes of chemical equilibrium material. The data analysis technique in this study used a non-parametric statistical test with a t-test. The results showed (1) the learning outcomes of students with high scientific thinking skills were higher than students with low scientific thinking skills, (2) there was a significant effect of the guided inquiry learning model based on multiple representations on student learning outcomes.

Abstract

Model Pembelajaran Learning Cycle menekankan pada masalah rendahnya hasil belajar siswa dan mendorong motivasi belajar siswa selama proses pembelajaran. Model pembelajaran Learning Cycle dapat dipadukan dengan model pembelajaran STAD pada fase elaborasi. Perpaduan tersebut bertujuan untuk mengetahui perbedaan hasil belajar dan motivasi siswa yang dibelajarkan dengan model pembelajaran LC 6E-STAD dengan siswa yang dibelajarkan dengan model pembelajaran LC 6E. Penelitian ini menggunakan rancangan eksperimen semu. Sampel penelitian terdiri dari dua kelas XI IPA yang dipilih secara random sampling. Instrumen penelitian terdiri atas tes pilihan ganda materi asam basa dan angket motivasi yang valid dan reliabel. Data hasil belajar dan motivasi siswa dianalisis secara deskriptif dan statistik dengan menggunakan uji t pada taraf sig. α = 0,05. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa ada perbedaan hasil belajar dan motivasi belajar antara siswa yang dibelajarkan menggunakan model pembelajaran LC 6E-STAD dengan siswa yang dibelajarkan menggunakan model pembelajaran LC 6E pada materi asam basa. Hasil belajar kognitif dan psikomotor siswa kelas LC 6E-STAD lebih baik dari kelas LC 6E. Motivasi belajar siswa pada kelas LC 6E-STAD lebih meningkat dibanding motivasi belajar pada kelas LC 6E.

Abstract

A secondary metabolite is a compound produced by plants that are needed for its survival. Those compounds are used as attractant, repellant, and protectant. The three of them, such as color, taste, aroma, and thorns of the plants. These secondary metabolite compounds are important to be revealed. It aims to find new natural resources that are safer, more effective, and efficient in aiding the health sector, such as anticancer, antibacterial, and hepatoprotective and antioxidant properties. The research trends of natural products chemistry sourced from plants that are widely developing are extraction and biological activity, such as anticancer. In this research, the extraction of 1 kg sample was done by using maceration method and produced methanol extract of kapul (Baccaurea macrocarpa) 3.1%, jambu mawar (Syzygium jambos) 2.4%, ramania (Bouea macrophylla Griff) 9% and mentega (Diospyros discolor Willd) 2.7%, and the result of antileukemic activity of methanol extract sample (the survived HL-60 cell percentage) sequentially were 22.6%, 12.7%, 44.1% and 37.3% with the concentration of 100 µg/mL. Jambu mawar (Syzygium jambos) exhibited the highest antileukemic activity with the survived cell percentage (HL-60 cells) of 12.7% among the methanol extract of samples tested.

Abstract

BDNF protein plays a role in the growth and survival of neurons. BDNF protein has some uniqueness, and information on this protein is still limited reported, especially in pigeons. The purpose of this study is to predict the three-dimensional structure of the pigeon of  BDNF protein, to provide information in understanding the characteristics, structure of the protein using a homology approach through in-silico analysis. The BDNF protein is predicted using the SWISS-MODEL server and visualizing the prediction results on the CHIMERA Software. Pigeon BDNF protein was taken from Uniprot with a B4Z8Q access codewith a template of 1b8m.1. The analysis shows that BDNF protein has  an identity of 93,20% consisting of 226 amino acids with a target QMEAN value of -0.17 and hydrophobic amino acids namely Trp, His, Tyr, Ile, Leu, Gly, Lys, Cys, Ala, Phe, Met, and Val. Carboxyl residues, namely Glu, Asp and Val, and amine residues, namely Lys and Ser, with 82 hydrogen bonds.

Abstract

Tujuan dari penelitian ini untuk mengetahui pengaruh dari media permainan Simple NOMIC berbasis Androidterhadap respon dan aktiviats dari peserta didik. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode Research and Development (R&D). Penelitian yang dilakukan hanya sampai langkah uji coba terbatas pada tahap pengembangan. Uji coba terbatas dilakukan terhadap 12 peserta didik kelas X di SMAN 1 Manyar Gresik. Pada penelitian ini menggunakan instrumen hasil angket respon peserta didik dan hasil observasi aktivitas peserta didik. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa observasi aktivitas peserta didik selama uji coba terbatas mendapatkan persentase rata-rata sebesar 96.75% pada kategori sangat baik dan respon peserta didik yang positif mendapatkan persentase sebesar 95.33% pada kategori sangat baik.
