Abstract

This research examines about interpretation of teenagers and childrens spectatorship about contestants Indonesian Idol Junior 2016 who sang adult’s song. This research used critical paradigm through cultural studies approach. Critical theory used in this research is commodification theory of Vincent Mosco to show that Indonesian Idol Junior exploit the contestants. The method is reception analysis which dismantle various interpretations of media content by small number viewers (Downing, 1990: 162). Based on research results, Elementary School Children are vulnerable to the media negative impact. Representation of television shows about children singing adult songs for an informant (Elementary School) is interpreted by dominan reading, and the three other respondents interpreted as negotiation readers (Junior and Senior High School). It means that Junior and Senior High School Students have adequate knowledge structure. The result also stated that all informants do not have knowledge about commodification broadcasting industry.

Abstract

West Sumatera have the most visitors on the big day such as Ied Fitr, Christmas and New Year who would come to area attractions such as Padang Beach, Pulau Pasumpahan that also rise sharply. Some of the famous tourist attractions are the Harau Valley and Pemandian Batang Tabik. But lately, about 5 years, Pilubang village, a small village in Payakumbuh offers something different and interesting to the tourists, the sharia travelling. This concept is believed to emerge as Islamic values and local wisdom are mixed into a tourist destination that will demand a lot of circles. By not losing the essence of this area as a village which is very un-Islamic and habitual but actually makes the sale value and attractiveness in the field of travel. Pilubang Resort itself offers a beautiful natural scenery and exotic, local people were friendly, as well as sites with custom rules included therein.

Abstract

The study aims to analyze the developing agrotourism based on food security through marketing communications strategy. The research method used Participatory Rural Apprasial, data was collected through interviews, observation, documentation and focus group discussion with interactive analysis and SWOT analysis. The informant research  through purposive sampling of 30 people as a community worker in the Serang village, Karangreja subdistrict of  Purbalingga Regency. The results showed corporation effort possession village have not been able to manage the organization, marketing, promotion, developing business units and partnerships, thus require integrated marketing communications model on the empowerment of agrotourism based on food security in the Serang village.

Abstract

Social media could improve the deployment of information and communication among users, including teenagers user. However, to be considered is whether the intensity of high social media usage among teens can reduce their social skills, as teens tend to become more individualized. The study was conducted using quantitative methods that involving 145 respondents, who attend in public and private schools, within 1-15 km of study range location. This study done based on the Uses and gratification theory as the grand theory. Other theory which used in this study is media dependency theory, in order to see how dependent the user on the use of social media. The results shows that the more often user access to social media, the more frequently the information search is done as a fulfillment of the information, which will triggered the concern of environment as well as the form of social consciousness.

Abstract

In today's contemporary life, information scattered innumerable quantity, either spread through electronic media, printable media and via the internet. Such information is not all give hope of a better life, but rather a flood of false information/lies (a hoax). Every day we look at the discourse is growing increasingly wild and hard to believe. News sources are now numberless. In the face of information with the meaning that is not valid, distorted facts, lie packed with goodness, then the public is also often victims of the information. Communicators, Participants, both Agency and Structure, becoming a multi-sources. Difficult to determine the source is credible. To become a critical public, the authors offer an analysis of the message, which allows readers to practice in both research thesis and dissertation as well as to simply be able to avoid the falsehoods and lies of information.

Abstract

Utilization of public spaces for community purposes is vital, given the existence becomes a precious thing amid the urgency people to enjoy ‘freedom in space’, that public space existence is not only limited by urban areas alone, why this is so, because the public space is basically a requirement need to be met. The public space in urban areas, such as: alun-alun square, city park, playroom, anti-smoking room, as well as expressive space for the disabled. In fact if we examine, the village also has a space can be used, and its function is the same as an expressive means of urban communities, although amid the routine of farming or gardening, so it needs space, that form and concept of public space in rural areas is more modest, but the public space is a source of knowledge society.

Abstract

Instagram is a social media that has a visual power. Together with, many parties both individuals and organizations use Instagram to get some information they want to convey. For instance, PT. Hood Digital Asia (Kufed) who created @thekufed account to develop their messages that will be delivered to their publics. They used their own strategy by adjusting the characters and the concepts with their targets. Therefore, this study explored about how @thekufed designed their messages strategy. The researcher used qualitative method with descriptive approach to examine Kufed’s message plan and strategy, such as teaser, community building, collaboration with influencers for content production and curation of products, as well as  planning the story to strengthen the visual content with emotionless. The conclusion is Kufed has implemented the message strategy based on its concept and character.

Abstract

In this paper, we show that the therapeutic communications have to influence the image of health care at Regional Public Hospital of Arifin Achmad Pekanbaru. Beliefs and impressions of the patient have impact to cunstruct the image of health care at the hospital. Communication skills in providing medical services performed in the process of treatment and cure of patients have an effect on increasing the image of the hospital health care. By providing good services communication between doctors or nurses to the patients, health care will improve the image of the hospital. Therapeutic communication are being made to construct a positive image in government hospitals should be done when a doctor or nurse to communicate to the patient to interaction, listening, and to show reception. This paper’s result obtain from the quantitative research by using the reggression linear method of statistic.

Abstract

The use of social media, especially Twitter during the presidential election campaign in 2014 led to the construction of the presidential candidates can not only be found in the mass media, but also can be found in the content chirp twitter account supporters. This study aims to identify and find out how the two presidential candidates figure (Prabowoand Jokowi) when constructed through chirp Twitter account their respective supporters. By using qualitative methods, this research observation and analysis of the chirp twitter supporters of the two presidential candidates were uploaded during the presidential election campaign (June 4 until June 5, 2014) takes place. The results showed that Prabowo is constructed by supporters twitter account as a highly intelligent, resolute and strong. While Jokowi constructed by supporters as a populist figure, simple and honest.

Abstract

Central Java BKKBN (Badan Koordinasi Keluarga Berencana Nasional) main objectives is to facilitate government policy in population control. To achieve this objective, BKKBN should treat man and woman in a same respectful way because both have the same contribution to population control. Unfortunately some of their Public Service Announcement (PSA) did not show this emancipation. One of their PSA show only a young woman with her baby, delivering a subtle message that young woman is responsible for early marriage. By using Fairclough’s Discourse Analysis, we found that BKKBN Central Java unconsciously construct a discourse through their PSA that young woman not only become the most unbenefited side in the early marriage, but also the most responsible for the marriage.
