Abstract

Background: The number of cases of low birth weight is still quite high, 15% of the 20 million babies worldwide are born with low birth weight every year. Low birth weight conditions need to be a concern because it can cause health complications. Aim to Analize the effect of kanggoro method to increase baby's weight of low birth weight. Methods: The experimental research design used was a static pre- posttest control group design with a case control approach, namely research by grouping or classifying intervention groups against the control group. The type of statistical test used in this study is the t test (t test). we performed 30 of low birth weight babies as a case of kangaroo care for 7 days and as control were 60 low birth weight babies, were only treated according to the hospital standart procedure,like ASI, parenterally and the drugs needed. Results: The average weight gain of infants who were intervened by the kangaroo method was 30.2 grams with a standard deviation of 11.79 grams, while for infants who were not intervened by the kangaroo method, the average baby's weight gain was only 15.5 grams with a standard deviation of 8,57 grams. Statistical test results obtained p = 0,000. Conclution: there were significant differences in the average weight gain of infants who were intervened by the kangaroo method and those who were not intervened by the kangaroo method.

Abstract

Background: The elderly Posyandu is an integrated service post for the elderly that is driven by the community to be able to get health services. The coverage of elderly health services in Bekasi City in 2013 has generally reached the target. The RPJMD and SPM targets are 70%, the health service achievement of the elderly reaches 84.2%, but there are still Puskesmas that have not yet reached the target of one, Jati Bening Health Center. The purpose of this study was to determine the factors related to the use of elderly Posyandu.Methods: The place of research is in the working area of ​​the Jatibening Health Center and was carried out in 2019. This study used an analytical survey method with a cross sectional approach. The population in this study are the elderly who are registered in the Posyandu of the elderly in the working area of ​​the Jatibening Health Center totaling 100 people, a sample of 80 respondents using the Simple Random Sampling technique. Data collection by check list and questionnaire, the data is analyzed using univariate and bivariate analysis with Chi-square.Results: The results showed there was a relationship between the knowledge of the elderly (P 0.037), family support (0.0001), and the role of cadres (P 0.01) with the use of the elderly posyandu.Conclusion: From the results of the study it can be concluded that the factors of elderly knowledge, family support and the role of cadres in the use of elderly Posyandu greatly affect how the elderly Posyandu can be utilized properly, therefore researchers suggest for health workers to be able to improve health services by providing better health services and counseling the elderly about the benefits of posyandu for the elderly.

Abstract

Background: Continuity of Care (CoC) is a philosophical foundation of midwifery education that can promote the understanding of midwifery students to care for women holistically. In implementing the curriculum of Diploma-IV Midwifery study program, the application of CoC by students is carried out integrated in the implementation of the Comprehensive Community Midwifery Practices. This study aims to describe the implementation model and the results of the evaluation of the application of CoC. Methods: It’s descriptive research study, with subjects 89 people (clients and students) in 7th semester of Diploma-IV Midwifery Study Program of Poltekkes Surakarta. The instruments were in the form of observation guidelines, observation sheets on the results of CoC, satisfaction of care, and achievement of student competencies. Data is presented in verbal and numeric form. Results: The ongoing midwifery care model that is applied refers to the management of the client by a care-provider team (midwives, students and supervisors). The implementation cycle consists of: planning, implementation and evaluation. Outcomes of CoC: there were no complications in labor (91.01%) and newborns (95.51%), client's condition in the postpartum period and breastfeeding was normal (100%). The majority of clients expressed very satisfied with care (73.03%). Evaluation from students, CoC can support the achievement of competencies (93.26%). Conclusion: CoC is carried out by a care provider team in three stages. The application of care has an impact on good delivery outcomes, and for students to support the achievement of competencies.

Abstract

Background: Sleep is prime priority for baby, because when this moment occurs repair neuro-brain and more or less 75% of growth hormone are produced. Considering the importance of sleep time for baby development, baby’s sleep needs must be fulfilled in order not to adversely affect growth and development. One of the way to fulfill baby’s sleep needs is baby massage. When baby massaged will increase serotonin secretion that will suppress the activity of the reticulation-activating system and causing sleepy. Purpose this study to knowing the effect of baby massage to the length of sleep of baby ages 3-6 month in Jemawan Village, Jatinom Sub-District, Klaten District. Methods: Quasy eksperiment research with one group pretest-posttest design. Sampling using saturated sampling technique with 32 babies. Bivariate analysis using non parametric statistic Wilcoxon test with an error rate of 5%. Baby massage is performed of baby ages 3-6 month throughout the baby’s body for 30 minutes, baby massage is doing 2 times a week in 4 weeks.Results: This study show results that the length of sleep of baby before doing massage is mostly less than 13 hours as much as 18 babies (56,25%) and the length of sleep of baby after doing massage is normal 13-15 hours as much as 27 babies (84,38%). The result of Wilcoxon test is p = 0,000 (p <0,05) that Ha accepted.Conclusion: There is effect of baby massage to the length of sleep of baby ages 3-6 month in Jemawan Village, Jatinom Sub-District, Klaten District.

Abstract

Background: Psychological theory reveals that emotional intelligence influences human behavior. One of them is student behavior in the learning process will be influenced by the emotional intelligence he has. With good emotional intelligence, students tend to be more responsible in carrying out their roles as students. But in fact, not many teaching staff at the Educational Institution pay attention to the teori about the importance of emotional intelligence, whereas if emotional intelligence is developed in an educational institution it will optimize student responsibility, behavior and learning achievement. Aims study to describe the emotional intelligence of students of the Department of Midwifery Diploma Program and Continued Applied Bachelor Study Program Professional Education Midwife Professional Program in the Midwifery Department of the Polytechnic of the Ministry of Health Surakarta. The results of this study are expected to be used as an additional reference and input to teaching staff, especially in the Surakarta Health Polytechnic and Education Institutions in general to develop emotional intelligence in order to increase student responsibility, behavior and learning achievement. Methods: This type of research is descriptive. Univariate data analysis uses frequency distribution. Results: The level of emotional intelligence in midwifery DIII program is quite good 98.8% and good 1.2%. The level of emotional intelligence in midwifery applied bachelor is quite good 52.7%, good 44.9%, and very good 2.7%. Conclusion: Most midwifery students have good emotional intelligence.

Abstract

Background: Indonesia has a lot of storing a variety of healthy plants and inhabited by various tribes with different traditional sanitary knowledge. Moringa leaf is a plant that is often used by the community to improve health. This type of research is an observational study that is to identify Moringa leaf alkaloid compounds. The purpose of this study was to identify the content of alkaloid compounds in moringa leaves which were arranged using tables and narratives. Methods: Descriptive observational research by extracting 260 grams of Moringa leaves, and identification in the laboratory. Results: The results of the identification of moringa leaf alkaloids using Wagner reagents contained brown sediment. Conclusion: The conclusion is positive Moringa leaves contain alkaloid compounds.

Abstract

Background: Danger sign of pregnancy was a sign that someone who pregnant have a serious problem with the mother or fetus. Contact at least 4 times during pregnancy (K4) was the fourth contact of pregnant women with the medical employee (or more), to obtain antenatal care according to established standards, provided that at least one contact in the first trimester, one contact on the second trimester and two contact times in the third trimester. The purpose of this study was to determine the correlation between knowledge pregnant women about the danger signs of pregnancy with the achievement of K4.Methods: The research method was using analytical research design type of cross sectional correlation. The subjects in this study was the entire third trimester pregnant women in the Selopanggung Village Semen District Regency of Kediri as many as 12 people, sampling technique using saturation sampling and research in March until April 2019. Measuring instrument used was questionnaire and book KIA. Data analysis was using Fisher Probability Exact Test. Results: The results showed all third trimester pregnant women have a good knowledge (100%) and as much as 33% of pregnant women can achieve K4. The analysis showed that the calculated p value was 1 greater than 0.01 so there wasn’t correlation between knowledge pregnant women about the danger signs of pregnancy with the achievement of K4. Conclusion: This research was expected to increase further-enhance-the-achievement-of-K4 by medical employee with_home_visit.

Abstract

Background: Anemia in pregnant women is a condition of the mother with hemoglobin levels in her blood <11.0% gr. Prevention of anemia in pregnant women can be through various ways including the fulfillment of nutrients in the body obtained from fruits and vegetables, one of them by consumption of dates. Dates contain 1.02 mg of iron per 100 grams. This study aims to determine the effect of consumption of dates on the increase in hemoglobin levels in third trimester pregnant women in the Klateng Community Health Center. Method: This type of research is a quasy experiment with a non equivalent control group design pre-test-post test design. A population of 57 third trimester pregnant women The sampling technique used was purposive sampling, a sample of 30 respondents from third trimester pregnant women was obtained in the working area of ​​the Central Health Center in Klateng. The data analysis technique used is the Wilcoxon Sign Rank Test. Results: The average level of hemoglobin in the treatment group of hemoglobin levels pre (before) the administration of dates by 10.793 gr / dL and post (after) the administration of dates occurred an increase of 11,933 gr / dL and seen an increase (difference) from the average value of pre and post of 1,140 gr / dL with a standard deviation of 0.6643. Statistical test results obtained p value <0.05 (0.002 <0.05) so that Ho is rejected, Ha is accepted then consumption of dates has a statistically significant effect on increasing hemoglobin levels. Conclusion: From the results of these studies indicate the influence of consumption of dates to increase hemoglobin levels in third trimester pregnant women in the work area of ​​the Central Health Center.

Abstract

Background: Uric acid is a problem in the elderly, with symptoms of joint and heel pain every time you wake up in the morning, stiff on the fingers and toes and swelling and redness. The incidence of gout in the elderly accounted for 47 cases in Hatra R. One of the actions that can reduce uric acid levels is herbal medicine. Sidaguri types of herbs, kepel and bay leaves containing flavonoids, ethanol and hexane can inhibit the activity of xanthine oxidase enzymes that have the potential to reduce uric acid levels in the blood. The purpose of this study was to determine the service of herbal medicine in Mrs. S with high blood uric acid levels. Methods: This research is a descriptive type with a case study approach to 1 client with characteristics of pain in the right waist to the knee. Data collection techniques using the assessment of herbal services. Data validity test is done by triangulation technique based on source triangulation, namely getting information from the client, family, supporting examinations brought by the client, then technique trangulation is by interview and observation and time triangulation namely by checking the data carried out in an iterative time to get the results of the decline uric acid levels in the blood. Results: The results showed that the client's condition is the level of uric acid in the blood to be normal and the pain in the right knee to heal and be able to walk normally so the problem is resolved. Interventions conducted on the client are assessment, determining the problem with the client, determining planning, providing herbal medicine and evaluating services. The results of the evaluation of the action showed that the problem was resolved by decreasing the level of uric acid in the blood. Conclusion: The service of herbal medicine in Ny.S with increased levels of uric acid in the blood can reduce uric acid levels in the blood.
