Abstract

Piroxicam is a non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drug (NSAID) that can cause side effects on the liver. If the liver is affected by side effects from using Piroxicam, it can cause cell damage so that the hepatic organs' function and work are disturbed. The biomarker of liver damage is the SGPT level. An increase in the SGPT ratio indicates serious liver damage. One way to minimize liver damage is by giving antioxidants. One of the many herbal plants used to prevent or treat various diseases is black cumin (Nigella sativa). This study aimed to analyze the effect of black cumin extract on the liver SGPT levels of Piroxicam-induced rats. Eighty male mice were used in this study and were divided into three groups, namely the negative control group (K-), Piroxicam non-extract (P-), and Piroxicam plus extract (P +). Black cumin extract is given orally at a dose of 2 gr / kgBW; 3 gr / kgBB; 4 gr / kgBB; 5 gr / kg body weight and 6 g / kg body weight, while the Piroxicam dosage given is 1 g / kg and 3 g / kg body weight. The results showed that the more Piroxicam doses were given, the higher the SGPT level. Along with the increase in the dose of black cumin extract, the SGPT level is reduced.

Abstract

Noise in itself can be harmful or dangerous to health. The research objectives were to determine the noise value generated by blacksmiths and analyze the effect of noise levels on blacksmith performance. The research was conducted by direct observation and giving questionnaires to respondents. Data processing using the t-test to determine the level of noise and its effect on blacksmiths. This study's conclusion is the level of significant difference with the Threshold Value (NAV) set by the government, which is 99.328 dB (A). Meanwhile, the government's NAV for the work area (industry) is 85 dB (A). The simple linear regression analysis results indicate that noise in the blacksmith's work area has no significant effect on employee performance. This is shown from the test results of simple linear regression analysis through the t-test, obtained t count of -0.365 smaller than t table of 2.069 or the number sig. equal to 0.719, which is greater than α of 0.05.

Abstract

Piroxicam is a non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drug (NSAID) widely used as an analgesic and anti-inflammatory in rheumatoid arthritis, osteoarthritis. However, Piroxicam can cause gastrointestinal side effects and peptic ulcers when given orally. Piroxicam can also cause cholestasis. Also, if Piroxicam is used continuously in high doses, it can cause damage to the small intestine. A compound can minimize small intestinal cell damage called an antioxidant. This study aims to analyze the effect of curcumin extract (Curcuma xanthorrhiza) on Piroxicam-induced damage to mice's small intestinal cells (Mus musculus). This study used 80 male mice and divided into 3 groups, namely negative control (K-), negative Piroxicam (P-) and positive Piroxicam (P +). Giving ginger extract given orally at a dose of 1.4 gr / kgBW; 2.0 gr / kgBW; 2.6 gr / kgBW; 3.2 g / kg BW and 3.8 g / kg BW, while the Piroxicam dosage used was 10 mg / kg BW and 30 mg / kg BW. The results showed that the more Piroxicam doses were given, the higher the level of small intestinal cell damage. Along with increasing the dosage of ginger extract, the level of damage to small intestinal cells is reduced.

Abstract

This study aimed to determine the profile of the type of representation of students to solve problems in learning physics. This type of research is descriptive quantitative. The sample used in this study was 170 high school and vocational high school students in the Merauke district, and the sampling technique used was purposive sampling. The instrument used in this study was a problem-solving ability test instrument using a multimode representation by the Rosengrant stage and a questionnaire instrument for student responses to various types of representation in physics. The results showed that students could only use a single representation in the form of text, image, and mathematical representations. There are no students who can use the representation of line diagrams, bar charts, and free-body diagrams. The students' questionnaire responses showed that students used different representations in understanding the concept, and the type of representation most used was text representation.
