Abstract

Objective of this study is to determine development of sharia-based school culture in creating character education of students in The Integrated Islamic Vocational School (SMK IT) of Surakarta which includes factors inhibiting development of school culture and the Sharia-based solution.This study is a qualitative descriptive one. The research was conducted at SMK IT. Subjects of this study is principal, student andvice principal of student affairsof the school, while teacher, homeroom, teacher of guidance and counseling, boardinghouse caregiver as an informant. Methods of data collection used interview, observation and documentation. The results showed that the sharia-based school culture that has been developed through religious activities and school culture coming from moral values of Islam can lead to character education in everyday life, in practice there were some obstacles derived from both internal and external of the school. Internal barriers were innate character of students, lack of infrastructure, unstable team work, educational background of the student, and wicked nature of the student. As for the external factors were obstacles derived from negative impact of globalization and technological sophistication, lack of support from parents, social influence, influence of social patterns before staying at the boardinghouse. Abstract

The development of pesantren, schools and madrasah is a form of culture. They have dynamism in the society development. Pesantren, schools, and madrasah are also a manifestation of the lives of people or groups of people in the educational environment. The development of pesantren, school and madrasah as a unity of the development of educational institutions in Indonesia are interconnected with each other, so the cultural development of the three educational institutions can be seen from the cultural model proposed by van Peursen, covering mythological, ontological and functional phases. This article reveal and explore the development of pesantren, schools, and madrasah in cultural reviews. Abstract

The research aims to report the improvement of the kindergarten students’ communication skill by implementing the chatting technique. This study is a collaborative action research. The subjects are group A kindergarten students at TK Aisyiyah 1 Sawahan. The data is collected by field notes then analyzed with comparative analysis and interactive techniques. Performance indicators for this research are the average child reaches the ability to communicate for (1) 50% in the first cycle, (2) 60% in the second cycle, and (3) 75% in the third cycle. This study was conducted in three cycles and each cycle consists of: (1) Plan­ning, (2) Acting, (3) Observing and (4) Reflecting.The result of this research indicated that chatting technique can improve the communication skill of group A kindergarten students in TK Aisyiyah 1 Sawahan, as teachers doing some reflections, the process of learning activities focused on students, and students were actively involved in the activities. The percentage of students communication skill before the action was less than 25%, the percentage of students ability to communicate after the action on the first cycle increased to 43.75%, in the second cycle increased to 75%, in the third cycle increased to 93.75%.Keywords: chatting technique, communication skill, Group A kindergarten students

Abstract

Until now, the education system in our country is more emphasis on the cognitive aspect than educating for character. Meanwhile, the globalization in 21st has given rise to the phenomenon of free trade, dependence science and technology (ICT, Bio-technology, Nano-technology), global life (Speed, Conectivity, Intangable, and Compatibility), human rights, issues of democratization, environment, gender, and multiculturalism. SDIT Nur Hidayah is a school has applied to try appliying character building. These programs of character building is implementating from their own religion. This research uses descriptive qualitative. Subject of these researchs are teachers and students. And informan of these researchs are headmaster, employees, and parents of the children.The results of this research shows that the information program of the characters in SDIT Nur Hidayah Surakarta applied intensively (daily, weekly, monthly). The programs include 1. integrated in the leraning process, 2. any other programs: Pekan Pembiasaan, Pekan Kedisiplinan, Mentoring, Mutabaah Alyaumiyah. The purpose of these programs is intended to build characters of the students. These programs are not only comprehensive, but also very unique. The children are so enjoy and enthusiastic in carrying out various characters, and we hope they have a basic foundation of strong character.Keywords: Character Building, based on Religion

Abstract

The background of this research werethe less satisfying result of the student achievements in PAI; the lack of students seriousness to plan their learning activities;and the lack of responsibility for addressing the problems of their studies. The purpose of this research was to find out: 1) the students learning independence 2) the PAI learning achievement, and 3) the relationship between students learning independence and PAI achievements of grade III students in SDN Panularan Surakarta academic year 2015/2016. This research employed correlational quantitative approach. It was carried out from May 2015 until June 2016 with a total sample of 33 students. Samples were determined using simple random sampling, and data were collected using questionnaireand test. There were only 30 out of 40 questions in the questionnaire and 26 out of 27 questions in the test declared as valid and reliable after thetrial. Hypothesis testing is performed with acorrelation of product moment. This study concluded that the students learning independence was categorized as moderate (64.7%) so was their PAI learning achievement (16.95%). It was also found that students learning independence and their achievement are positively correlated.Keywords: Study independence, PAI learning achievement, correlation of product moment.

Abstract

The purposes of this study are: (1) to determine the influence of creativity and productivity of Islamic Education (PAI) teachers of all primary schools in district Baturetno, Wonogiri of 2015/2016 (2) to determine the influence between work motivation and productivity of Islamic Education (PAI) teachers of all primary schools in district Baturetno, Wonogiri of 2015/2016 (3) to determine the influence of creativity and work motivation and productivity of Islamic Education (PAI) teachers of all primary schools in district Baturetno Wonogiri of 2015/2016. This research was conducted at all elementary schools of Baturetno, Wonogiri districts consisted of 32 schools. The method used in this study was a quantitative correlation. Methods of data collection used a questionnaire. The conclusions of this study are (1) There is an influence between creativity and productivity of Islamic Education (PAI) teachers of all primary schools in district Baturetno. (2) There is an influence between work motivation and productivity of Islamic Education (PAI) teachers of all primary schools in district Baturetno. Abstract

Abstract: Violence in education is not always about physical abuse but also ethics abuse. In Indonesia, violence tends to be unconciously accepted by most people. Learners are often treated ihumanity and they do not fight back. For instances, get push-up, kicked door, and other physical punishments are often seen by Indonesian. Yet, there some good educational systems in Indonesia that not using violence on learning. So, this study will elaborate concepts of nonviolence learning in Surya Mentari Natural Kindergarten in Surakarta. The research uses qualitatie method and phenomenological approach. In this research, I collect data by observation, documentation, and interview to be analyzed. This method also employs triangulation method data to make sure that it has been precise. The result shows that learning model in Natural Kindergarten Surya Mentari invites children getting outdoor class in rice field and nearby gardens because it is interesting learning resources for children. Keyword: Education,Violence, Environment

Abstract

This study is based on the phenomenon of the cases number of punishment  abuse in education. Punishment has become a favorite treatment chosen by teachers to control students, though not all educators choose it becomes habit. A discussion of punishment in order to educate the students, actually has been discussed several prominent Muslims and the West Islamic education  Abdullah Nashih Ulwan, and  the leaders of Western education for example B.F. Skinner. The education of the two figures, the authors tried to find out his thoughts about punishment in education. Furthermore, the authors compare these thoughts to determine the location of the similarities and differences, as well as the benefits and drawbacks. The results of this research are: 1) The idea of punishment in education according to Abd. Nasih Ulwan more emphasis on the moral requirements, while Skinner put more emphasis on human behavior; 2) Abd. Nashih Ulwan and Skinner do not agree with the punishment. The difference lies in the application of punishment in education. If Abd. Nashih Ulwan apply affectionate and gentle, while Skinner apply the principle of prudence. Abstract

This article aims to explore the reinforcement of confidence through dreams book. In the early condition, the students have low self-confidence. To increase theself-confidence of the students, the teacher begins to explore the dreams of the students and make the students realize their dreams through dreams book. Through qualitative descriptive, this research described how to implement dreams book in the learning process. The teacher asked the students to make simple book consisted of four pages. As the evaluation, the teacher used some assessments, such as observation, self-assessment, and friend assessment. The teacher asked the student to fill out the sheet of self-assessment rubric and friend assessment rubric. For the observation, the teacher made observation rubric. From the result of this evaluation, the teacher concluded that self-confidence of the students showed improvement. As much as 34% and 36% of students obtain score 3 and 4, respectively. Therefore, the students who get a score above the KKM (Kriteria Ketuntasan Minimal) is 80%. It means that the score in every indicator of self-confidence showed improvement.Keywords: Self-confidence, dreams book

Abstract

Abstract: Thomas Kuhn’s concept of scientific revolution has a historical role in the science of constructing the emergence of new science. It has the characteristics thinking and new philosophical model in the birth history of science and philosophy. The History of science is a basic science that is always marked by the strong paradigm and followed by the scientific revolution and is the starting point in studying fundamental issues in scientific epistemology for Thomas Kuhn. Thomas Kuhn termed this phase as a new science birth history phase, beginning with normal science, then emerged anomaly and crisis, and ended with the scientific revolution as a birth form of new science or new paradigm. Thomas Kuhns paradigm can be contextualized in the science of education or donated to the world of education. The World of Education needs to design a teaching-learning process that can stimulate or provide anomalous data to learners, so as to transform their knowledge scheme toward a better scheme. Problem Based Learning and Discovery Learning became one of the methods of troubleshooting educational problems through experimental ways that make learners become the subject of education.
