Abstract

      This study investigates the application of corporate governance to reduce earnings management on go-public firms.The results show that the proportion of independent commissioners has significant effect on earnings management; larger proportion of independent commissioners in the boards is associated with lower level of earnings management. Size of commissioners and leadership of independent commissioners have insignificant impact on earnings management. The proportion of independent director impacts significantly to the earnings management, larger proportion of independent director results on lower level of earnings management.  Further size of director is positively associated with lower level of earnings management. Yet, audit committee is negatively associated with earnings management.             This research provides evidences that effective board of commissioners, audit committee and board of directors are reducing earnings management.

Abstract

Islamic banking to function as a financial intermediary that support the development process. Operational activities of Islamic banking is managing investment funds and deposits are sources of funding and managing social as zakat, infaq, alms, and waqaf. Increased competition due to the liberalization of the domestic banking system that makes international banks into Indonesia and lead to a larger market, so customers have more choices to determine who will be selected banking institutions. Lack of understanding of the definition of service quality in the banking industry is considered one of the obstacles to successful implementation of quality initiatives in the banking sector (Nielson and Host, 2000). Seeing the importance of retaining customers due to increased competition in the banking sector, the researcher analyzed the service quality dimensions Islamic Bank in Yogyakarta and customer satisfaction on customer loyalty with customer perceived value variables against Islamic Bank as a moderating factor, by developing a model of the previous research. Model evaluation Partial Least Square (PLS) based on the measurement of the non-parametric prediction have used in this study. The results of this study is the construct of service quality dimensions of service quality dimensions 1 and 2 related positively and significantly to the Islamic banking customer satisfaction. Likewise construct customer satisfaction positively and significantly related to Islamic banking customer loyalty. While constucs customer perceived value as a moderating between the construct of customer satisfaction with the level of customer loyalty Islamic banking is not significant. With the results of these studies can be used managers of Islamic banks as a measure to assess the factors that can improve customer satisfaction, thereby increasing customer loyalty to the Islamic banking in Yogyakarta

Abstract

College is a public institution that provides educational services to the community. Community preference in selecting colleges vary widely, because each individual has different desires in choosing a college. But in general, the level of public preference may be obtained based on the factors on which the consideration of the selection of a college.

Abstract

This research was carried out on House of Service Placement Protection for Indonesian Manpower (Balai Pelayanan Penempatan Perlindungan Tenaga Kerja Indonesia - BP3TKI) in Achmad Yani Airport, Semarang.  The aim of the study are:  (1) To know the influence of the dimensions of service quality (tangible, reliability, responsiveness, assurance, and emphaty) toward satisfaction of Indonesian Manpower.  (2) To know the dominant factor among the dimensions of service quality (tangible, reliability, responsiveness, assurance, and emphaty) that influence toward satisfaction of Indonesian Manpower. The hypothesis drawn are: (1) Presummed that there are influence of the dimensions of service quality (tangible, reliability, responsiveness, assurance, and emphaty) toward satisfaction of Indonesian Manpower. (2) Presummed that reliability has dominant influence toward satisfaction of  Indonesian Manpower. The population of this research is 100 TKI that received service from BP3TKI in Achmad Yani Airport, Smarang with  primary data. Technique of Analysis applied are validity test, reliability test, multiple linear regression, t-test , F- test and coefficient of determination. The results of this study are:  (1) There are simultaneous and significant influence of the dimensions of service quality (tangible, reliability, responsiveness, assurance, and emphaty) toward satisfaction of Indonesian Manpower.  (2) Reliability has dominant influence toward satisfaction of Indonesian Manpower that received service from BP3TKI in Achmad Yani Airport, Semarang.

Abstract

Seeing the development of business growth beverage products Ginger: Jahe Mantap, Jahe Wangi Sido Muncul, Jahe Merah, and other products that bervarian ginger, competing to market their products. In order to attract buyers will require a good brand image and advertising heavily. Formulation of the problem in this study: 1) Is there any effect on the product image and advertising on purchase decisions? And 2) Which are the most dominant among the product image and advertising on purchase decisions?. The purpose of this study: 1) To determine the influence of advertising and the image of the product on purchase decision, and 2) to determine which is the most dominant among advertising and product image on purchase decisions.,The hypothesis is: 1) product image positive influence consumer purchasing decisions, 2) Advertising positive influence on consumer purchasing decisions; 3) Advertising has the most dominant effect influencing purchase decisions of fragrant ginger CV. Intrafood.Alat analysis used in the study were: Validity, reliability testing, regression analysis, t test, F test, and R2 The conclusion of this study were: 1) There is a positive and significant correlation between the image of the product on purchase decision fragrant ginger CV. Intrafood, 2) There is a positive and significant correlation between advertising on purchase decisions fragrant ginger CV. Intrafood; 3) There is a positive and significant correlation between the product image and advertising on purchase decisions fragrant ginger CV. Intrafood; 4) Advertising is the dominant factor affecting the purchase decision fragrant ginger CV. Intrafood. Based on the conclusion, it can be suggested that the company is expected to continue to maintain and enhance the advertising strategy is to intensify the advertisements in the electronic media and print media are very easily spread. For the image of the companys products is expected to improve the image of the product by improving quality and providing packaging and price that makes consumers interested to buy it.

Abstract

One of the development of internet usage is spending on goods and services by online. This study aims to determine the effect of consumer’s confidence, product quality, economic status and knowledge of internet technologies towards online shopping patterns among students in Surakarta. This study used a sample of 100 respondents. The results indicate that consumer’s confidence, quality products and knowledge of internet technologiesare positive and significant effect towards online shopping patterns, while the economic status has positive but not significant effect towards the motive of shopping online. Abstract

UKM and Cooperatives, business organizations in Indonesia, which is expected to alleviate the economic crisis. The issues that are currently of concern to the  Government of Indonesia strive for economic recovery through by using of information technology. Tendency on the issue, the attitude of acceptance or rejection of a user information technology system (Technology Acceptance Model / TAM) is the technology acceptance model that can explain and predict ones intention to use the technology (behavioral intention) to use it ( behavior). The purpose of this study was to analyze the TAM model on UKM and cooperatives with an online system that culture moderated. Data was collected through surveys on UKM and Cooperatives in Surakarta. Data collected 145 respondents, using AMOS 18 shows that cultural variables masculinity/femininity moderate the perceived ease of use to the perception of use, as it also moderate the perception of the use of the intention to use technology systems, it is contrary to the uncertainty avoidance cultures. Both of these variables moderate the influence of intention ( behavioral intention ) toward usage behavior (behavioral ) use of information technology systems in UKM and cooperatives.

Abstract

The choice of consumers in selecting banking institution not only determined by economical factors but also may influenced by non economical factors, such as their attitude and beliefs. This article was based on the research conducted to identify factors that could differentiate consumers’ choice on selecting banking service of syaria banks. In case of syaria bank,there are several dimensions, namely, perception, personal selling, family, cost and benefit, religion and beliefs. Further, there is no relationship between consumer’s perception on interest and the type of bank that they choose. But, it is found that there exist several relationships between several dimensions utilized in the study. Such relationship has been found between the age, income, educational level, occupation and the banking type that they selects. In other word, the majority of consumers did not agree with the interest principle but they still choose to deal with banking institution based on their economic rationale.

Abstract

his  research aims to examine  internal  and  external  factors that  influence Murabaha  Financing  on  Islamic  banking  In  Indonesia.  This  research  used  five independent  variables, that  is Deposit Third  Party  Fund, Non Performing  Financing, Murabaha  Margin,  Inflation  and Bank  Indonesia  Certificates  Sharia  (SBIS).  The population  in this  research  are  all Islamic  banks, Islamic  Business Unit (UUS), and Sharia Rural Banks (BPRS) in Indonesia. The sample consisted of three banks that are determined  by purposive sampling technique. The criteria  used that foreign Islamic bank that  issued quarterly financial  statements in  the  year 2010-2014. The  hypothesis was  tested  using multiple  regression  analysis. The  results  of this  research  shows  that Deposit Third  Party Fund  and Murabaha  Margin have  asignificant positive effect on Murabaha  Financing.  While  the  Non  Performing  Financing,  Inflation  and  Bank Indonesia Certificates Sharia have no significant effect on Murabaha Financing
