Abstract

Students at SMPN 27 Padang tend to be passive when the learning process takes place which results in low learning outcomes of students in natural science subjects. This study aims to determine the effect of giving home assignments in the form of Mind Map prior to the application of the Giving Question and Getting Answer (GQGA) active learning model on science learning competencies in the aspects of knowledge and attitudes of students in class VIII of SMP Negeri 27 Padang. This research is a Quasi-Experimental study and uses the Control Group Posttest Only Design. The study population was all students of Class VIII SMP Negeri 27 Padang. The technique used is Purposive Sampling. The control class uses the Direct Intruction learning model and the experimental class uses the active learning model Giving Question and Getting Answer by giving home assignments in the form of a Mind Map. The research instrument used was a test of learning outcomes and attitude assessment in the form of an observation sheet. T test results are known that the knowledge competency of tcount>ttable (4.99>1.67), and the results of the t test of competency attitude known tcount>ttable (6.36>1.67). This shows that the hypothesis is accepted. So, it can be concluded that the assignment of homework in the form of Mind Map prior to the application of the active learning model Giving Question and Getting Answer (GQGA) significantly influences the science learning competence in the aspects of knowledge and attitudes of students.

Abstract

This study aims to find out more about the efforts to improve students' information literacy in online learning of the covid-19 effect of biology. The type of research used in this paper is a literature review study. This research was carried out by analyzing research related to how to increase information literacy in online learning the effects of Covid-19 describing, evaluating and clarifying the research and then drawing conclusions. The result of this research is that information literacy is a very important skill for students. At this time of online learning, students who have good information literacy skills will have no difficulty in learning. However, there are problems with students that it is difficult to study at home. Even though the average high school student is able to use existing technology. Therefore, efforts are needed to improve student information literacy. The conclusion in this study, based on the results of the author's analysis, there are three ways to improve students' information literacy, the methods are 1) doing biology online learning effectively to increase student interest in learning and foster student curiosity, 2) the teacher provides many learning resources. as reading material in learning and increasing student insight, and 3) parents and teachers must work together in monitoring, facilitating, and motivating students to develop their learning patterns, so that learning takes place effectively and can improve student’s information literacy.

Abstract

The present research aimed to determine the impact of inquiry-based learning (IBL) models towards students' thinking levels. The sample used in this research was 66 students. Measurement student level of thinking used the SOLO taxonomy rubric consisting of five levels: pre-structural (first level), uni-structural (second level), multi-structural (third level), relational (fourth level), and extended abstract (fifth level). Data analyzed was using the Mann Whitney. The result of our research showed that P < 0.05. It can be concluded that there is an impact of IBL on the student's level of thinking. The research recommendation is improving students' thinking levels; teachers can use IBL as innovative learning.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui persepsi mahasiswa terhadap strategi “Students as Researchers” dalam melatihkan kemampuan self regulation mahasiswa. Penelitian ini memberikan alternatif strategi perkuliahan yang dapat dilakukan untuk melatihkan kemampuan self regulation mahasiswa. Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian deskriptif kualitatif . Populasi pada penelitian ini yaitu seluruh mahasiswa pendidikan Biologi Universitas Riau. Sampel pada penelitian ini yaitu mahasiswa Pendidikan Biologi semester 3 (tiga) kelas A yang mengambil matakuliah Media Pembelajaran Tahun Ajaran 2020/2021 yang mengikuti perkuliahan dengan strategi “Students as Researchers”. Instrumen pada penelitian berupa angket respons mahasiswa dan lembar wawancara. Pertanyaan pada angket menekankan pada jabaran indikator pencapaian kemampuan self regulation mahasiswa melalui strategi perkuliahan “Students as Researchers”. Teknik analisis data yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah analisis kualitatif yang terdiri atas pengumpulan data, reduksi data, penyajian data, dan penarikan kesimpulan. Data dari angket dianalisis berdasarkan persentase respons mahasiswa terhadap ketercapaian indikator self regulation. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa mahasiswa memberikan respons positif terhadap strategi perkuliahan “Students as Reserchers” dalam melatihkan kemampuan self regulation mahasisswa sebesar 96,4% berada pada kategori sangat baik, dengan rincian indikator menyusun rencana secara efektif, menyadari dan menggunakan sumber-sumber informasi yang diperlukan, dan sensitif terhadap umpan balik sebesar 100%, indikator mengevaluasi keefektifan tindakan sebesar 94,7%, dan indikator menyadari pemikirannya sendiri sebesar 90,4%. Dapat disimpulkan bahwa secara keseluruhan mahasiswa memberikan respons positif terhadap strategi perkuliahan “Students as Researchers” dalam melatih kemampuan self regulation mahasiswa.

Abstract

The learning media in SMP and SMA in the 2013 curriculum have shifted needs. This research was conducted because of the monotony of the thesis products made by biology teacher candidates at UIN Walisongo. Learning media is an important factor in the learning process so that it can increase the effectiveness and quality of student learning. The purpose of this study was to determine the mapping of biology learning media and to analyze the needs of instructional media in the 2013 curriculum. The sample was taken by using purposive sampling technique. The method of data collection is done by using the method of observation, interviews and documentation. The analysis shows that the learning media in SMA and SMP Kota Semarang have a variety of media types (visual, audio-visual, computer, power point and interactive), although certain media are only available in limited quantities at schools. Types of biology learning media that can be used to achieve the goals of the 2013 Curriculum by researchers include: audio visual / video, interactive media and technology-based media. Because the 2013 curriculum is scientific-based learning, the three media support this type of scientific learning. Suggestions for teachers to use more varied learning media. Keywords: Mapping, Biology Learning Media, 2013 Curriculum. Abstrak Media pembelajaran di SMP dan SMA dalam kurikulum 2013 mengalami pergeseran kebutuhan. Penelitian ini dilakukan karena kemonotonan produk skripsi yang dibuat oleh calon guru biologi di UIN Walisongo. Media pembelajaran adalah faktor penting dalam proses pembelajaran supaya dapat meningkatkan efektifitas dan kualitas pembelajaran peserta didik. Tujuan penelitian ini untuk mengetahui pemetaan media pembelajaran biologi dan menganalisis kebutuhan media pembelajaran pada kurikulum 2013. Sampel diambil dengan teknik purposive sampling. Metode pengumpulan data dilakukan dengan menggunakan metode observasi, wawancara dan dokumentasi. Analisis menunjukkan bahwa media pembelajaran di SMA dan SMP Kota Semarang memiliki kelengkapan dalam variasi jenis media ( visual, audio visual, komputer, power point dan interaktif), meskipun media tertentu hanya tersedia dalam jumlah terbatas pada sekolah. Jenis media pembelajaran biologi yang dapat digunakan untuk mencapai tujuan Kurikulum 2013 oleh peneliti antara lain : audio visual/video, media interkatif dan media berbasis teknologi. Karena kurikulum 2013 pembelajaran berbasis saintifik, ketiga media tersebut mendukung jenis pembelajaran saintifik. Saran untuk guru supaya menggunakan media pembelajaran yang lebih bervariasi. Abstract

Biology is a subject that plays an important role in determining the quality of education. However, the learning process including biology is currently not being carried out as usual (face to face) due to the covid-19 pandemic. This research was conducted to determine students' perceptions of online biology learning. The research method was carried out quantitatively by distributing questionnaires containing statement items with three dimensions of research focus, namely dimensions of teaching material, learning atmosphere / environment and student interaction during learning. Quantitative data analysis was performed using a Likert scale survey method with 100 respondents, namely students of class XI MIA SMAN 2 Sungai Penuh as a research sample. The results showed that the three dimensions of learning related to student perceptions, namely the dimensions of biology teaching material, learning atmosphere / environment and student interactions during online biology learning, got positive results. Researcher's positive findings do not mean there are no obstacles in the implementation of online biology learning. These obstacles include expensive internet quotas and difficult internet access.

Abstract

The learning module is one of the learning materials that makes students learn independently so that is known to what extent students have mastered a learning material. Based on the analysis of needs at SMA Nurul Qomar Palembang, it is known that the condition of the learning module is still a learning module with material presentation in the form of essays which are still equipped with writing without a certain approach, so that students find it difficult to understand the material. This study aims to determine the validty and practicality of mind mapping learning modules on the circulatory system material for SMA Nurul Qomar Palembang. This research is up to the seventh stage of ten stages, namely: 1)potential and problems, 2)data collection, 3)product design,4)design validation, 5)design revision, 6)product testing, 7) product revision. The subjects of this study were students of class XI IPA SMA Nurul Qomar Palembang. The data collection techniques used were observation, interview and questionnaire distribution. The data analysis technique used is the analysis of the validty of the learning module and the analysis of the practicality of the learning module with a measurement scae according to Riduwan (2009). Based on the validation of several experts 90,62%, and learning device experts 83,33%, biology teacher response 75,59%, student response 88,21%, the mind mapping learning module on the high school blood circulation system material gets the criteria of “Very Appropriate” so it is very well usedin the learning process. Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui kandungan protein, karbohidrat dan lemak dan manakah kandungan nutrisi yang paling tinggi pada maggot BSF (Hermetia illucens) di Kalidoni Kota Palembang serta menghasilkan media pembelajaran biologi yang digunakan sebagai referensi pada materi insecta. Penelitian ini dilaksanakan pada bulan Februari 2020. Jenis penelitian ini kuantitatif dengan pendekatan deskriptif. Populasi dalam penelitian ini yaitu maggot BSF pada tahap larva dan sampel penelitian ini adalah larva maggot BSF pada tahap instar VI. Teknik pengumpulan data dalam penelitian ini yaitu dengan menggunakan metode kjeldahl, soxhlet, dan by different. Analisis data yang digunakan adalah deskriptif kuantitatif berupa presentase dan rata�rata yang ditampilkan dalam bentuk tabel. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan nilai kandungan protein sebesar 49,67%, kandungan karbohidrat sebesar 0,18% dan kandungan lemak sebesar 21,17%. Dimana protein adalah kandungan nutrisi yang paling tinggi. Sumbangsih pada penelitian ini berupa buku ensiklopedia insekta yang digunakan sebagai media pembelajaran biologi di SMA/MA.Kata kunci : Maggot Black Soldier Fly (Hermetia illucens), Protein, Karbohidrat, Lemak.
