Abstract

One of the problems in learning mathematics at school is the low ability of students in solving story problems associated with daily life, so that the results achieved are not optimal.?é?áThis is due to one of them is the ability of students in solving problems.?é?áTo overcome, it required an appropriate learning, one of which is to use the application filing problem as a solving problem. The purpose of this study is to improve the learning outcomes of Math class grade VII F at SMP N2 Semarang on solving word problems related to flat wake.?é?áAs matter of that, the KKM used today is 77, therefore learning strategies to improve learning outcomes is steadily promoted. Problem in this study is whether the filing of the problem of learning can improve learning outcomes on completion of word problems relating to wake up flat??é?áThe method used is two conducted submission cycles and each cycle consist of two meetings.?é?áEach cycle comprises four phases: planning, action, observation and reflection.?é?áStudents discuss with the group in accordance with one specified group comprising 4 to 5 students. From the research results obtained by the average value in the first cycle is 80.5 and 73.1% completing the study. Hence, it does not meet the completeness limit of learning because learning is said complete if 85% achieves the exhaustiveness learning.?é?áThis is due to the role of teachers in learning still dominates the classroom so that students tend to be less active.?é?áIn the second cycle after extensive reflection and change in learning is getting satisfactory results.?é?áAlmost all students are actively involved in discussions so that the average value of learning to 87 and 88.5% completeness. Based on the results of these studies, the learning is very effective by filing problems to improve students' mathematics learning outcomes at of grade seven in VIIF in the case of ?é?áSMP N 2 Semarang on a flat wake of the academic year 2010/2011. Abstract

Electrical materials are difficult to understand by students. Although teachers are taking a variety of efforts such as the use of methods and approaches vary, but the results are still low / not maximized. It can also be seen from the acquisition of learning outcomes in science test scores rise in class VIII (UKK) purely academic year 2010/2011, a class VIII A gain value of 74.30, a class VIII B with a value of 72.66, a class VIII C 68.75 , a class VIII D 70.08, 77.03 E VIII class, a class VIII and class VIII F 76.67 G 64.52. There are still some unfinished class, whereas a minimum completeness criteria (KKM) VIII-class science subjects at 70. IX D grade students from all classes with a heterogeneous composition capable students. Not optimal learning outcomes related to science students in grade IX junior D 6 Semarang, the author seeks to apply a contextual approach to teaching and learning using electrical kit as an alternative means of learning that lead to active learning, creative, effective, and fun. This classroom action research aims to determine the increase in electrical material science learning outcomes and planting the creative character and curiosity through contextual approach to teaching and learning using electrical kit in grade IX D 6 Semarang semester junior year class 2011/2012. Data collection methods in this study using a written test and observation. Data analysis using descriptive techniques. Based on the results of research that has been implemented, it can be concluded that the contextual approach to teaching and learning to use an electric kit is proven to improve learning outcomes IPA electrical materials and planting the creative character and curiosity in students' junior class IX D 6 Semarang lessons Semester I 2011/2012. It marked the success indicators of achievement and classroom action research to an increase in the average results of the cycle I learned IPA at 77.67 to 92.80 in the second cycle. As for the achievement of individual learning thoroughness, I cycle of 77% and 96.7% for the second cycle. The process of learning science with a contextual approach to teaching and learning to use an electric kit also resulted in the creation of enjoyable learning. Students are more creative in learning and have a high curiosity in studying the electrical materials. Similarly, increasing the activity of teachers being able to manage the process of learning science is more active, innovative, creative, effective, and fun. Abstract

Teacher Competency Development througt Creative Learning Management at SD Negeri 1 Magelung Kecamatan Kaliwungu Kabupaten Kendal SD Negeri 1 Magelung is an SD on level. The excellent achievement derives from the management and the teacher who have competency in their subject.In this research, researcher described in the implementation of creative learning management applied on this SD. Besides tat, the researcher also analyzed the role of implementing creative learning management in developing teacher competency. The method of the research was descriptive qualitative. The subject of the research were all teachers of the SD Negeri 1 Magelung Kendal. As for the data for the collection, the researcher used documentative method, interview and observation. And for the technique of analisys, the researcher used model of data reducsion, data display and concluding drawing. Whereas for the data validation technique, the researcherused triangulation technique, member check, dependability and confirmability. The result of the research showed that the creative learning management could be understood as a maximaze student achievement. The creative learning management could be understood as a process of choosing and implementing strategy. Strategy is a pattern of human resource allocation wich enables organizations to mountain their work. The implementation of the creative learning management was done profesissionally and proportionally. Each teacher was required to have capacity and to be able to develop the learning method. In general, the creative learning management was proven to be able to help the teachers to develop the ability of teacher competence I teaching. Based on the research result, it can be advised that teacher?óÔé¼Ôäós role and duty is one of determinant factor for the success of education. So, existence and development of teaching profession becomes an essential discourse for the government. Deterioration of education is not caused by curriculum but by lac teacher?óÔé¼Ôäós professionalism and student?óÔé¼Ôäós reluctant in learning. Abstract

Mathematics from year to year is developing as more improvement as complicated era. The complicated era suggest men to be more creative to develop or to implement mathematics as a basic field. In Learning mathematics, students often feel it difficult to learn, besides that the learning process has not been understandable. So the students consider understanding on the concept falsely conseqnently the achievement frends to be lower either as individually or classically compared with other subjects. The problem taken in this research are.Whether implementing Jigsaw learning model can improve students learning ?, Wheter implementing Jigsaw learning model can improve the activity students on?é?á VIII grade, SMP Negeri 21 Semarang, education Year 2010/2011. On the basic algebra materials. Based on the test result from the cycle 1 and cycle II indicate that there is an improvement of learning. The student target mark increases classically from the cycle 1 to the cycle II. On the cycle 1, the passing grade mark mark classically on VIIIE SMP Negeri 21 Semarang is amount of 59,09%, it has not been fiil classical target mark. It is more than 85% but after implementing the class research on the cycle II, there is an?é?á improvement classical target mark to be 90,91% and has been over it classically to be more than 85%. Some suggest given by the researcher on the result of the research, one of them is on the learning process so the teacher should use learning method which is precisely for every topic learning taught. In this research for the main topic of effective algebra is used Jigsaw learning method. The teacher should give motivation on how importance learning to the student. So that they always have desires to study. The students should be ready by themselves to follow learning?é?á process in the classroom using some various learning methods which are different for cartain material on the activity of learning prosess so that it can be improved. Abstract

The purpose of this study was to investigate the contribution of games for improving vocabulary acquisition of the Catholic Elementary School of Kanisius Jatingaleh, compared to pictures for improving the same subjects of study. Participants were divided into two treatments groups, and each group was assigned to do the same test, containing sections which involved vocabulary items. Pre-test was given before the experiment and post-test was held immediately after the experiment was over. The Null hypothesis of no significant differences were constructed and tested, and then one-tailed t-test was used to compare the score of the games and pictures groups and to analyze the hypothesis. The results indicated that the score of the experimental group that it was taught by using games is higher than control group. It was proved that the students did better in mastering their vocabulary when they were taught by using games rather than pictures. Both of games and pictures contribute in that way : to help the students develop their inner self, to motivate the students to know more about the new vocabulary, to train the students in creative freedom as they feel less embarrassed or afraid and become more self confident, and to give a challenge to solve problem in enjoyable situation. ?é?á Key Words: Vocabulary Acquisition, Pictures, Games

Abstract

The goals of this research are: (1) to find out the requirements to be the Englishtecher candidate, (2) to find out if motivation is one of the factors which needs to beconsideres in students; recruitement system, (3) to fdesign the model of students?óÔé¼Ôäórecruitment system in English department of IKIP PGRI Semarang. The instrumets ofthis study are quetionaires which were distributed to the samples. The samples are thestduents of english department which was randomy selected and six English teachers ofsenior high school in Semarang. Those schools were: 1 state senior high school, 1private high school, 2 state vocational schools and 2 provate vaocational schools. Thetresearch was conducted for 1,5 month. The result of this study shows that the users(schools) have less content over the English department graduates?óÔé¼Ôäó competence. Thoseare profesionalism, pedagogic, social and performance. The graduates are consideredto have low pedagogic competence(33.3%) and less in performance (16.7%). Theresult of the analysis on questionaires filled by the students revealed that the highermotivation of the students, the higher their achievement. The result of the study willlead to the designing of model which include motivation as one of the factors inrecruiting new students of English Deparment. The users dicontent is worth consideredas the supporting factors in improvement. Abstract

The morfosyntactical errors in students?óÔé¼Ôäó writing composition have been a phenomenon that both writing teachers and other faculty members have complained about. Those errors are not only made by junior students, but also made by senoir students at the university level. One of the reasons of making those morfosyntactical errors is that our students still use their background knowledge of Indonesian sentences?óÔé¼Ôäó structure in their English writing.?é?á?é?á The main objective of this research is to investigate the influence of schemata of Indonesian language structure toward the ill-formedness of English sentences. In brief, this research studies the morfosyntax elements that can cause the formation of ill-formed sentences, the types of ill-formed sentences made by Indonesian students in writing English composition, and also to investigate the students?óÔé¼Ôäó difficuties in writing English. The data of this research was taken from the 3rd semester students of the English Education Department of IKIP PGRI Semarang. The researchers collected the data by (1) Observation and mid semester test result to choose the students. Those who got the score 75 or upper were choosen as the repondents. (2) Questionnaire, and (3) The writing test. From the findings, it was found that the schemata of Indonesian language structure give a significant influence toward the ill-formedness of students?óÔé¼Ôäó English sentences. The most frequent types of ill-formedness are from: noun form and tenses. This fact indicates that our students have difficulty mostly in those two types of topic. Abstract

The students?óÔé¼Ôäó activities and achievements of?é?á class VII B at SMP N 2 Semarang dealing with the subject of economic social science have been in a lower position. The comparative measurement of lower students?óÔé¼Ôäó activities can be seen from the students?óÔé¼Ôäó attitude and understanding to the teachers?óÔé¼Ôäó explanation; the students?óÔé¼Ôäó activities in classroom, the students?óÔé¼Ôäó encouragement in conveying the arguments; the students teamwork; the students?óÔé¼Ôäó intention in classroom activity, the precise time of students in carrying out the task and the students?óÔé¼Ôäó unsystematic lesson activity. The low position of students achievement is integrated in the result of student test which has improper consequence of score minimum criteria. The condition has been becoming worse since the subject of economic social science has been excluded in the final test. The purpose of simulation learning model is to develop the students?óÔé¼Ôäó activities qualitatively and improve the students?óÔé¼Ôäó achievements quantitatively.
