Abstract

ABSTRACT Sour-sop (Annona muricata L) leaf extract is predicted that it can be used as biopes- ticide which is safe to environmental condition. But, toxicity acut test still important to do. The objective of this research is to estimate of the is exposure dose causing 50% mortality (96-h LD50 95% CI) to test orgasnism during 96 h. Toxicity tests with 50 Goldfish (Carassius auratus) were conducted in 20 liters test solution. Five mouthed jar contain 4 liters of test solution with different dose. At least 10 Goldfish weighing 3—5 g were tested at each dose (0 ppm, 12500 ppm, 13250 ppm, 14000 ppm, and 14750 ppm). Toxicity data were analyzed by statistical linear regression with IBM SPSS Statistics 19. The result prediction with regression estimation was obtained logarithmic (log) va-lue scale  interpolation LD50 is 4.142. Transforming (antilog) of this value was obta-ined 96-h LD50 95% CI = 13868 ppm. Conclusion, Sirsak leaf extract can be used as biopesticide with safety limit 1387 ppm. Abstract

ABSTRACT Waste management material on the subjects of biology can be used to enhance the values ​​of entrepreneurship for students. Therefore, we need to develop relevant learning tools. The purpose of this research is to develop entrepreneurship-oriented learning tool which is effective to increase the values ​​of students entrepreneurship. The study was conducted in SMA 11 Semarang (Semarang 11 th high school) with the subject of tenth grade students of the 2010/2011 school year. The type of research is the research and development (R & D). This research is used to produce certain products, as well as test the effectiveness of these products. Product to be produced is the learning tools of biology that include: instructional materials, lesson plans, syllabi and worksheets. The result showed that the resulting product has validity value of (Va.) = 4. The average score for syllabi, lesson plans, teaching materials and worksheets is = 4. In addition, the entrepreneurship learning interest of students in entrepreneurship-oriented waste management learning have increased 8.2% for ordinary regular classes and 6.4% for the excellent class. The conclusion is, the entrepreneurial-oriented learning tool developed is effective way to increase entrepreneurship interest in learning biology. Key words: waste, entrepreneurship, learning tools

The government policy to convert a High School (SMA) become Vocational High School (SMK) with a ratio 30 : 70 for produce human resources (HR) are ready to work, limited support in reducing the number of unemployed. One cause of unemployment is the only edu-cational system that produces a force of technical skill.The purpose of this study was to develop a model of learning and teaching materials entrepreneurial perspective.The experiment was conducted in Semarang in SMA 9 academic year 2010 / 2011 Research subjects were students SMA 9 semester one class X, which is selected by cluster random sampling technique. This type of study is a research and develop-ment (R&D). Testing a model that was developed using a one group pretest-posttest design.The results showed: (1) the validity of the model = 3.7 and teaching materials = 3, (2) effectiveness, which is a change in students entrepreneurship interests acquired several indicators of students entrepreneur interests include the willingness to achi-eve the goals and needs of life, belief in own strength, physical and mental endu-rance, perseverance and tenacity to work and strive, creative and constructive think-ing, and dare to take risks. Indicators of fairness, and responsibility and oriented to the future has not experienced an increase.The conclusion is, learning model of entrepreneurship perspective is valid, and te-aching materials are developed sufficiently valid and effective for use in the lear-ning process.Key words: learning models, teaching materials, entrepreneurshipABSTRAKLulusan Sekolah Menengah Atas (SMA) tidak semuanya melanjutkan ke perguruan tinggi. Kebijakan pemerintah untuk mengkonversi SMA menjadi SMK dengan ratio 30 : 70 untuk menghasilkan sumber daya manusia (SDM) yang siap kerja, kurang menunjang dalam menurunkan jumlah pengangguran. Salah satu penyebab peng-angguran adalah sistem pendidikan yang hanya menghasilkan tenaga teknikal skill.Tujuan penelitian ini adalah mengembangkan model pembelajaran dan bahan ajar berperspektif kewirausahaan.Penelitian dilaksanakan di SMA 9 Semarang pada tahun ajaran 2010/ 2011. Subjekpenelitian adalah siswa SMA 9 kelas X semester I, yang dipilih dengan teknik sam-pling acak kelompok. Jenis penelitian yang digunakan adalah penelitian dan pengembangan (R&D). Pengujian model yang dikembangkan menggunakan one group pretest-posttest design.Hasil penelitian menunjukkan: (1) validitas model = 3.7 dan bahan ajar = 3; (2) keefektifan, yang merupakan perubahan minat wira usaha siswa diperoleh beberapa indikator minat wirausaha siswa di antaranya adalah kemauan keras untuk mencapai tujuan dan kebutuhan hidup, keyakinan atas kekuatan sendiri, ketahanan fisik dan mental, ketekunan dan keuletan bekerja dan berusaha, pemikiran yang kreatif dan konstruktif, serta berani mengambil risiko. Indikator sikap jujur dan tanggung jawab serta berorientasi ke masa depan belum mengalami peningkatan.Kesimpulannya ialah, model pembelajaran berperspektif kewirausahaan adalah valid, dan bahan ajar yang dikembangkan cukup valid dan efektif untuk digunakan dalam proses pembelajaran.Kata-kata kunci: model pembelajaran, bahan ajar, kewirausahaan

Research using the method of quasi experiment with the static group pretest-posttestdesign involving 64 high school students the second semester of class X, whichconsists of 32 students grade class experiment, and 32 students on the control of onhigh school in the Cimahi city of Bandung. Practicum based learning is to orient andtrain students to formulate problems, conduct investigations, solve problems andreflect the results of the investigation. Research data captured by using a test instrumentshapedscientificattitudelikert scale, students questionnaire responses, observationsheets,andinterviews.The results showed that the scientific attitude of students who use practicum basedlearning differ significantly with students who learn in the conventional. These resultsare evidenced by the N-gain students scientific attitude control class of 0.13while the N-gain experimental class scientific attitude is better than the control class,which is 0.33. Based on questionnaire responses of students concluded that studentsliked the practicum based learning, because it can facilitate  in understanding thesubject matter, invites students to actively and build cooperation among students.The results of the observation sheet analysis showed activity and positive studentattitudes toward lab activities. Interviews with teachers also showed positive responsestopracticumbasedlearning.The conclusion is practicum based learning had a positive impact in developingscientific attitude students.Keywords:  learning, practicum, scientific attitude, students, invertebrate ABSTRAK Salah satu masalah yang dihadapi dunia pendidikan kita adalah masih lemahnyaproses pembelajaran, siswa kurang didorong untuk mengembangkan kemampuanberpikir. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengembangkan sikap ilmiah siswa, sertamengidentifikasi tanggapan guru dan siswa dalam pembelajaran berbasis praktikumpada konsep invertebrata.Penelitian menggunakan metode eksperimen dengan desain quasi eksperimen thestatic group pretest-posttest design yang melibatkan 64 siswa SMA kelas X semesterII, yang terdiri atas 32 siswa kelas eksperimen dan 32 siswa kelas kontrol pada salahsatu SMA swasta di kota Cimahi Bandung.  Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa sikap ilmiah siswa yang menggunakan pembelajaranberbasis praktikum berbeda secara signifikan dengan siswa yang belajarsecara konvensional. Hasil tersebut dibuktikan dengan N-gain sikap ilmiah siswakelas kontrol 0,13 sedangkan N-gain sikap ilmiah siswa kelas eksperimen lebih baikdaripada kelas kontrol, yaitu 0,33.  Kesimpulannya ialah, pembelajaran berbasis praktikum berdampak positif dalammengembangkan sikap ilmiah siswa.Kata-kata kunci: pembelajaran, praktikum, sikap ilmiah, siswa, invertebrata

Abstract

Biological gardens Seungko Mulat is an area in Aceh Besar district Lhoong that have different types of plants in vegetation dominance by species of Angiosperm. This study aims to determine the kinds and diversity of plants Angiosperm contained in the biological garden Seungko Mulat Lhoong Aceh Besar district. The research was carried out in the biological garden of Seungko Mulat used exploratory survey method for this kind of tree, as well as squares method for herbs and shrubs. Analysis of the data by calculating the index of diversity and importance value. The results showed that in the study area, there are 9 species Angiosperm that herbs, 13 species of shrubs and 10 species of trees. The most dominant type of Angiospermae is Paspalum conjugatum, Mimosa pudica, Eupatorium oderatum and Etlingera littoralis. Index Angiosperm species diversity is low to moderate for herbs and shrubs. The necessity for herbs are 92.54 and 69.22 for the bush.Keywords: Diversity, Angiospremae, Seungko Mulat

Abstract

Joint fir (Gnetum gnemon L.) is one of forestation plant on Java is associated with ectomycorrhizal fungi such as Scleroderma spp. In mutualistic symbiosis. Scleroderma associated with joint fir is commonly called jamur so or jamur melinjo by Javanesse people. Research on Scleroderma fungi characterization and classification in Indonesia, especially in Java is very limitted. The sample of characterization were collected from Pacitan Regency, East Java Province. Characterization of Scleroderma spp. were used macroskopic and microscopic characters from fruiting bodies, spores and infected roots of joint fir. Abstract

Skeletonema costatum (Greville) Cleve (Bacillariophyceae) is the unisel photosynthetic microalgae’s diatom which has the silica as the main composition of its cell walls. Diatoms have some life phases that can be observed in its batch culture The purpose of this research is to study the population growth of the diatom Skeletonema costatum populations in the f/2 medium and Conway medium of the growth curve is formed. This study also aims to determine the generation time and instantaneous growth rate of this the diatom species in both medium, in order to know which one is more appropriate medium for Skeletonema costatum.The batch culture of S. costatum was applied at f/2 medium and Conway medium with three replications for 7x24 hours in a sterile condition. Environmental parameters (pH, salinity, and temperature of the medium) were measured periodically. The population growth of the culture reached the lag phase in the first 24 hours, the exponential phase in the second 24 hours, whereas the stationary phase was in the third 24 hours. The growth of S. costatum in both medium were not significantly different. Skeletonema costatum growth rate in f/2 medium were 0.0282 cells/hour and its generation time were 25.5420 hours. On the other hand, Skeletonema costatum growth rate in Conway medium were 0.0228 cells/hour and its generation time were 30.3728 hours. This study proved that the growth of Skeletonema costatum populations in f/2 medium and Conway medium tends to be similar (Sig. 0.325, α = .10).Keywords: Skeletonema costatum, f /2 medium, Conway medium, growth rate, generation time

Abstract

Processed tea is fermented Kombucha Tea is known as "(Kombucha Tea). Kombucha tea is a functional food which occupies a position somewhere between conventional foods and drugs, so it can be used in the prevention of a disease of functional foods are foods that are designed specifically to take advantage of certain bioactive compounds that have a role in preventing disease.The enzyme is part of a protein that acts as a biocatalyst, accelerate the rate of biochemical reactions in the body. Therefore, the enzyme can be able to improve the health functions of the body with Kombucha.The purpose of this study (1) Knowing the production of lipase and protease in fermentation of Kombucha tea with many type, (2) Knowing the best kinds of tea for lipase and protease levels are optimal.The method used in this study is an experimental method to the design of Completely Randomized Design. This study consisted of four treatments, namely (A) + Kombucha colony of tea without sugar solution, (B) + Kombucha colony of black tea, (C) + Kombucha colony of green tea and (D) + Kombucha colony of fragrant tea (jasmine tea) with 3 replications. The parameters are count lipase and protease levels.Data analysis was performed with Analysis of Variance (ANOVA), followed by Duncan Multiple Test Distance (UJGD). Abstract

Lighting is an important parameter of the poultry production because of strong exogenous factor in controlling a wide variety of physiological processes and behavior. The lighting allows the birds to establish harmony and sync or equate many essential functions, including body temperature and various steps that facilitate metabolic feeding and digestion. The lighting also stimulates the secretion of some hormones patterns that control most of the growth, maturity or adulthood and reproductionThis research aims to assess the influence of light color on the body weight and carcass kampung chicken. The main independent variable is the color red, blue and white. The main dependent variable consists of body weight and percentage of carcass. The variable control is the number of rations, health management, a type of chicken, and the age of the chicken.The results show that there is no real difference in the influence of different color variations of the lighting body weights (P>0,05), and the carcass of a chicken (P>0,05).Keywords : lighting stimulation, kampung chicken, body weights, carcass
