Abstract

Most of the tourism area are distributed along the coast that intersects directly with those that result in degradation of the ecosystem inside. The southern region of Bali is one region that have experienced rapid development of tourism activities. The expansion of the tourism area in Tanjung Benoa, Bali occurs to coastal areas and directly contact with underwater habitat such as coral reefs and seagrass beds which can damage the underwater ecosystem. The goal of this study is to map shallow water habitat in densely packed tourist areas Tanjung Benoa, Bali using remote sensing technique. Two satellites dataset (Sentinel-2A and Landsat 8) at different spatial and spectral resolutions were tested using Lyzenga algorithm. The maksimun likehood supervised classification is used to classify the underwater objects and accuracy test were then conducted to to evaluate the classification effectiveness. The results showed that there were three types of shallow water habitats in Tanjung Benoa coastal area, such as dead coral, seagrass, and sand. The accuracy test showed Sentinel-2A images with an overall accuracy of 80,00% and kappa accuracy of 59.27%. had higher accuracy than Landsat 8 images with an overall accuracy of 68,29% and kappa accuracy of 35,43%. Abstract

The existence of IPB with a high number of students and residents influences the development of the area. Various businesses emerged to satisfy the needs of students, one of them is warung makan. Warung makan is the one of food waste sources that comes from leftlovers. Food waste can have an impact on the environment, social and economic. This study aims to determine the amount of food waste from warung makan and to determine the efforts to reduce the food waste. This research was conducted in around the campus of IPB Darmaga. The methodology used SNI 19-3964-1994. The results show that the average of food waste warung makan was 29,413 kg/day. The food waste composition consists of rice, vegetables and side dishes with the largest component was rice about 70% of total food waste. Efforts can be made to reduce the food waste from the side of warung makan was apply the method of serving rice on a buffet basis, campaign about food waste and apply a choice of rice portions. Abstract

Eden 100 Forest Park is an ecotourism area that has the potential of natural resources that can be used as tourist attractions. Forest Park Eden 100 also provides environmental services such as hydrological forest services, forest services as carbon sinks, and forest services in producing timber and non-timber goods. This study aims to find out what environmental services are provided by the Eden 100 forest and to analyze the economic value of environmental services and the obstacles and challenges faced by managers in efforts to preserve forest ecosystems. The results showed that the Eden 100 Forest Park provides environmental services in the form of direct use environmental services, namely wood production with economic value of the economic value of wood production of Rp 7,822,633,800 and non-wood (fruits) of Rp 25,500,000, non-use value directly in the form of natural landscapes (ecotourism) whose value is calculated using the travel cost method (TCM) and a yield of Rp 1,164,181,800 is obtained, non-use value in the form of existence services whose economic value is calculated using the contingent valuation method (CVM) of Rp.60,158,120 , as a carbon sink value which is calculated using the allometric method, and a yield of Rp. 18,161,220,000 is obtained. From the results of this study, it can be concluded that the total economic value of the Eden 100 Forest is Rp. 27,233,693,720. This proves that the existence of the Eden 100 forest is a very big economic benefit if its sustainability is maintained because it can absorb carbon which gives a great economic value. Efforts to manage and preserve Eden Forest Park 100 as a tourist attraction have been carried out in an integrated manner with the government, private sector and local communities, but need to be increased so that forests can provide environmental services in a sustainable manner.

Abstract

The results of this study indicate: (1) Characteristics of waste in Pakraman Padangtegal Village consisted of 83.88% organic waste, 7.24% plastic waste, 4.42% paper waste, 2.22% bottle waste, glass waste at 1.28% and metal waste at 0.96%; (2) public perception in waste management in Pakraman Village, Padangtegal that most of the people in Pakraman Village, Padangtegal, already know about the definition of waste and the danger of waste if it is not managed properly. Besides that the community also knows the difference between organic and inorganic waste so that the process of sorting waste in the place provided can run well, and the community's perception of waste management services has gone well with the transportation of waste twice a day; (3) the participation of the Pakraman Padangtegal Village community in waste management has played a role in various stages of waste management, starting from the sorting, garbage collection and garbage disposal, which complies with waste regulations and maintains the quality of the environment in Padangtegal Pakraman Village. The participation of the tourism industry in the process of waste management in Pakraman Village, Padangtegal, can be seen as being involved in the process of sorting waste and paying monthly fees and waste fees. The community participation in the waste management process is to help the government to socialize the waste management process by carrying out waste collection activities every week and provide a place for the waste management process. Suggestions in this study are that waste managers will immediately add facilities and infrastructure for waste transportation and accelerate the expansion of waste management in the village of Pakraman Padangtegal. Abstract

Babakan is one of administrative villages in Bogor Regency where Institut Pertanian Bogor (IPB) is located. IPB has given social and economic impacts in Babakan that many small-scalled business developed and small-scalled restaurant has the most participators. These small-scale restaurants generate waste everyday and the waste is still managed with end of pipe practice where waste was hauled from collection point to disposal site without any intermediate treatment. Community based waste management with 3R (reduce, reuse, recycle) approach should be proposed to reduce waste at source. 3R Solid Waste Treatment Facilities (TPS 3R) is a facility that focused on reducing, reusing, and recycling waste at source comunally involved active roles from community and goverment. The objectives of this study are (1) Examining level of participation of small-scale restaurant owners if TPS 3R is built and implemented in Babakan. (2) Estimating Willingness to Pay (WTP) of small-scale restaurans owners to TPS 3R implementation planning. The results showed most of small-scale restaurant owners are willing to participate in both sorting waste at source and paying TPS 3R service if TPS 3R is being implemented in Babakan. Average WTP values for TPS 3R is Rp 32,037.04/month and it’s higher than existing rate of waste collection service, which shows small-scale restaurant owners have preference for TPS 3R. Abstract

The study location of landslide is in Hokkaido, Japan which occurred due to the Iburi Earthquake 2018. In this study the landslide has been estimated by the fully Polarimetric SAR (Pol-SAR) technique based on ALOS-2 PALSAR-2 data using the Yamaguchi’s decomposition. The Yamaguchi's decomposition is proposed by Yoshio Yamaguchi et.al. The data has been analyzed using the deep learning process with SegNet architecture with color composite. In this research, the performance of SegNet is fast and efficient in memory usage. However, the result is not good, based on the Intersection over Union (IoU) evaluation obtained the lowest value is 0.0515 and the highest value is 0.1483. That is because of difficulty to make training datasets and of a small number of datasets. The greater difference between accuracy and loss graph along with higher epochs represents overfitting. The overfitting can be caused by the limited amount of training data and failure of the network to generalize the feature set over the training images.

Abstract

The people's gold mining and processing activities have an impact on the surrounding environment. Some residents immediately dispose of waste from gold processing into the environment. Therefore, analysis of the level of vulnerability of pollution is needed to determine the size of the level of difficulty and ease of contaminated substances to influence water quality, both surface water and groundwater. The purpose of this study was to analyze the level of vulnerability of groundwater pollution around the study area. The method used in this research is survey method and field mapping, sampling method: purposive sampling, laboratory analysis method, mathematical method, and descriptive evaluation method. The calculation to determine the level of vulnerability of pollution is the DRASTIC method for groundwater vulnerability with 7 parameters, namely groundwater depth, rainfall, aquifer type, soil texture, slope, slope, unsaturated zone type, and hydraulic conductivity. Based on the results of the study it was known that the study area had 2 classifications of the level of vulnerability of groundwater pollution, namely the moderate and high classification. Areas that are located in the direction of groundwater flow and are lower than pollutant sources will potentially be more polluted. Keywords : DRASTIC, Pollution, Groundwater, Gold Mine

Abstract

Coastal areas in the Canggu and Seminyak areas located in Badung Regency, Bali Province are very attractive tourism. The development of tourism has an impact on coastal conditions. The coastal conditions analyzed are changes in coastline that occurred during 2015-2019 using remote sensing. The satellite image data used in the analysis is Sentinel 2A image data that can be accessed for free with a spatial resolution of 10 meters. Image data processing is divided into three stages, namely preprocessing, processing, and post processing using Sentinel Application Platform (SNAP) software. The preprocessing stage includes the resampling, masking, and subset areas. The processing stage includes digitizing the coastal area, digitizing accuracy analysis using the Support Vector Machine (SVM) method, and the post processing stage including correction of shoreline changes. Bands in image data used for detection of coastal areas are band 8 (NIR), 8A (narrow NIR), 11 (SWIR), and 12 (SWIR). Based on the results of the analysis of shoreline changes carried out during 2015-2019, it was found that the average shoreline changes were 1.42 m / year with erosion conditions in which the dominant wind direction originated from the southwest towards the northeast coast of the sea of ??Bali. The results of digitizing the coastal area using the Fine Gaussian SVM method with the greatest accuracy value is 87.8%. Keywords: Shoreline Change, Remote Sensing, Sentinel 2A, SVM, Wind Direction

Abstract

Ngurah Rai Forest Park Bali is a mangrove conservation which covers 1,373.50 ha; the largest mangrove forest area in Bali. However, its strategic location, in the center of business and the golden triangle of tourism (Sanur, Nusa Dua, and Kuta), creates pressures from various interests. This threat causes 253.40 ha of mangrove forest area in Ngurah Rai Forest Park Bali severely damaged. The aims of this study were: (1) to analyze the forms of land function change occurred in Ngurah Rai Forest Park Bali; (2) to analyze perception of the community around Ngurah Rai Forest Park Bali about mangrove conservation; (3) to analyze the behavior of the community around Ngurah Rai Forest Park Bali about mangrove conservation. The research was conducted from May until July 2018 in Tuban and Pedungan District. This study uses 2 (two) analytical methods, 1) literature study methods, to determine the form of land function change that occurred in the Ngurah Rai Area of ??Bali, 2) categorical quantitative analysis method to determine the perceptions and behavior of the local community. The categorical quantitative analysis method was used to categorize the perceptions and behaviors of local people. It is qualified into 4 (four) categories on a Likert scale. The results of the questionnaire collected were categorized into 4 (four) levels and discussed descriptively. This paper was based on primary data taken using questionnaire with a predetermined analysis unit to interview the community in the study area. The result presented with quantitative and descriptive analysis. The result shows that within twelve years, from 2000 to 2012, Ngurah Rai Forest Park Bali has a land function change of 29.76 ha or 2.16%; from 1,161.76 ha in 2000 to 1,132.00 ha in 2012. The level of community perception towards the mangrove preservation of Ngurah Rai Forest Park Bali is very good but the level of its community behavior is bad. It can concluded that good perception do not always have a good impact of people behavior towards the mangrove conservation.

Abstract

Sindhu Beach is part of the Sanur beach area. Sanur area is one of 11 strategic national tourism areas in Bali. Beach tourism activities have the potential to cause degradation of coastal ecosystems. Ecosystem changes can be determined using bioindicators. This study aims to determine the condition of the Sindhu Coast waters ecosystem based on seagrass diversity and macrozoobenthos as indicators. This research was conducted in November 2019 at Sindhu Beach. Seagrass observations and macrozoobenthos sampling were carried out at four stations with three replications at each station. Data and samples were collected using the quadratic transect method. Eight species of seagrass were found in Sindhu Beach with a percentage of cover between 16.33% - 63.37% and density between 1572 ind / m2 - 3314.4 ind / m2. The average value of the seagrass diversity index was 1.24, the average uniformity index was 0.78, and the average dominance index was 0.32. Types of macrozoobenthos found were 23 species with abundances ranging from 2.33 ind / m2 - 28.33 ind / m2. The average value of macrozoobenthos uniformity index is 1.50, the average diversity index is 0.68 and the average dominance index is 0.36. Based on the index value shows that the waters of Sindhu Beach are in good condition or there is no ecologically significant pressure.
