Abstract

Mangrove forests around Lake Meno have a great potential to be developed as a tourist area, especially birdwatching. The people in Gili Meno have a high dependence on mangrove forests, mainly for firewood, causing its damage continually increased. Development of tourism infrastructure is also contributed to the problem of land use. This is because of no clarity in land use plan. Degradation of mangrove forests is a threat in the effort to develop of birdwatching ecotourism in Gili Meno, as well as threaten environmental sustainability. This is an action research, through Participatory Rural Aprecial method, aims to: 1) make a strategic plan of management of birdwatching ecotourism, in Gili Meno, 2) improve the quality of human resources as a birdwatching guides, and 3) improve the quality of natural resources as bird habitat. The study resulted in strategic plan of management of birdwatching ecotourism, that involving relevant stakeholders. It is hope that no conflict of interest in the land utilization. A total of 3,000 mangrove seedlings have also been successfully grown. Birdwatch training has also been successful in increasing knowledge and skills of Meno Lestaris Clubs in conducting birdwatch in the field. A total of 25 species of birds have been well identified by this club.

Abstract

Pendidikan yang berkualitas adalah sarana untuk mewujudkan kemandirian suatu bangsa. Peningkatan Sumber Daya Manusia perlu dilakukan dalam setiap aspek kehidupan. Akan tetapi, dalam pelaksanaannya menghadapi banyak kendala terutama dalam hal sarana dan prasarana terutama bagi sekolah-sekolah swasta di pedesaan. Salah satunya adalah SMA IT Al Kamal NW Narmada yang terletak di Desa Golong Kecamatan Narmada. Sekolah yang berdiri tahun  2008 ini belum memiliki fasilitas ruang dan alat laboratorium. Hal ini sangat menyulitkan siswa untuk dapat memahami konsep-konsep IPA secara lebih mendalam tanpa disertai praktikum. Sehingga perlu dilakukan inovasi dengan memanfaatkan barang-barang bekas yang mudah diperoleh untuk dijadikan alat peraga sederhana. Salah satu inovasi yang dilakukan adalah perancangan dan pembuatan sendiri alat praktikum destilasi sederhana, untuk membantu siswa memahami konsep destilasi serta penerapannya dalam industri. Diharapkan pengabdian ini akan meningkatkan kreatifitas dan minat para siswa/siswi SMA IT Al Kamal untuk mengembangkan penggunaan alat destilasi sederhana tersebut dalam bidang praktis seperti pertanian sehingga dapat juga menigkatkan jiwa kewirausahaan siswa.

Abstract

Provinsi Bali telah menjadikan Tri Hita Karana sebagai landasan pembangunannya, yang tercermin dari visi pembangunan Provinsi Bali  tahun 2006-2026 yakni:”Bali Dwipa Jaya, Adil, dan Demokratis, serta Aman dan Bersatu”. Tri Hita Karana telah menjadi landasan pembangunan di Bali. Tri Hita Karana wajib diterapkan pada berbagai kegiatan kemasyarakatan seperti politik, ekonomi, sosial, pertahanan, serta keamanan masyarakat. Satria Agrowisata sudah menerapkan konsep Tri Hita Karana, namun dalam penerapannya ada yang tidak sesuai dengan harapan. Berdasarkan hal tersebut penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis kesesuaian antara harapan dan kenyataan pada penerapan Tri Hita Karana di Satria Agrowisata, menganalisis hubungan penerapan Tri Hita Karana dengan manajemen Satria Agrowisata, dan menganalisis kepuasaan konsumen terhadap kegiatan agrowisata di Satria Agrowisata yang menerapkan Tri Hita Karana. Data penelitian yang digunakan adalah kualitatif dan kuantitatif. Penelitian dilakukan di Satria Agrowisata. Penelitian menggunakan dua macam penentuan sampel yaitu sensus sampling dan accidental sampling. Pengumpulan data pada penelitian ini menggunakan beberapa metode yaitu observasi, wawancara, dan dokumentasi. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode analisis deskripstif kualitatif untuk data penelitian kualitatif dan korelasi Rank Spearman untuk data penelitian kuantitatif. Hasil penelitian menunjukan bahwa ada kesesuaian antara harapan dan kenyataan pada penerapan Tri Hita Karana di Satria Agrowisata. Hubungan antara penerapan Tri Hita Karana dengan manajemen pada Satria Agrowisata sangat lemah namun pengunjung merasa sangat puas. Saran-saran yang dapat diberikan yaitu terus mempertahankan penerapan Tri Hita Karana pada kegiatan yang ada di Satria Agrowisata khususnya, memperbaiki hubungan antara penerapan Tri Hita Karana  dalam manajemen pada Satria Agrowisata, dan mempertahankan ataupun meningkatkan kualitas pelayanan dan menambah variasi minuman serta makanan yang bisa dijual ke pengunjung.

Abstract

The aim of the research are to know infection rate of P. palmivora, relationship between height of fruits, age of fruits and disease intensity. Field experiment was carried out at Pulukan, Jembrana, started from November 2001 to January 2002. The observation were done to disease intensity and infection rate of P. palmivora that accured naturally by a weekly observation on 20 plants samples from 120 plants (40 are) of reasearch. The disease intensity in relation with height of fruits and age of fruits were analysed by using correlational method. The result of this experiment showed that epidemic of disease was developed as sigmoid curve. Infection rate maximum, 0,077 per unit per day on young fruits age one month. The height and age of fruits factors influenced development of disease. Relationship between height fruits from soil and disease intensity as, Y = 21,089 – 4,671 X1 (r = - 0,679**, r2 = 46 %, X1 = height fruit from soil) and relationship between age of fruit and disease intensity is Y = 20,257 – 4,339 X2 (r = -0,658**, r2 = 43 %, X2 = age of fruit).

Abstract

Stem rot disease on vanilla caused by Fusarium oxysporum f.sp. vanillae has been known as the most destructive disease on vanilla in Bali since 1992. A drastic disease of vanilla cultivation areas and vanilla production occurred during 1991 to 2001 resulted from the disease. The vanilla cultivation areas has been decreased about 91% and the production of vanilla bean has also been decrease about 98% during that period. Many effort have been done to control the disease such as the use of synthetic fungicide, cultural practice, etc., but until now the disease is still can not be controlled appropriately. In order to find other alternatives for controlling the disease, seeds of plants were studied for their bioactivity against Fusarium oxysporum f.sp. vanillae. Of these, the seed extracts of C. cyminum and M. fragrans showed their inhibitory activity 77.35% and 62.13% against this fungus on potato dextrose agar (PDA) medium at concentration of 0.5% (w/v). On a green house experiment, application of the seed extract into the soil at the concentration of 0.5% (w/v) (in the process of seedling preparation) obviously inhibited the development of the population of this fungus, their inhibitory activity 99.9%. These result suggested that the seed extracts of Jintan Putih ( C. cyminum) dan Pala (M. fragrans) potentially can be used to control stem rot disease on vanilla.

Abstract

Pod rot disease in Cacao (Theobroma cacao) caused by Phytophthora palmivora has been known to cause serious damage at cacao-growing area in the world. The disease can cause crop loss until 90%. Hitherto cacao farmer controls disease only on usage of synthetic pesticide. Therefore important is performed a operation research of disease with other alternative, like usage of leaf extract Piper betle and clove flowers (Eugenia caryophillata), as botanical pesticide. Research has been conducted in Pulukan village, Sub-Province Jembrana in January until April 2006, to study botanical pesticide effectivity (plant extract) to control pod rot disease. Research applies completely randomized block design, with four treatments and six replications, causing is required 24 experiment units. Every re-attempt unit thrice and ten tree pears observed as sample. Disease percentage is observed every one week once in each treatment. Results of the experiment indicated that leaf extract of P. betle and clove flowers effective controls pod rot disease (alone or in combination). The extract mixture P. betle and clove flower (combination) can suppress disease until 64,57 %, clove flowers extract (alone) 33,33% and synthetic pesticide (Dithane M45) equal to 60,40%. Result of this depicts treatment tested is usable to reduce pathogen pod rot disease of cacao.

Abstract

Pod rot disease in cacao (Theobroma cacao) caused by Phytophthora palmivora has been loss until 90%. The major economic loss is from infection of the pod. Pods can be infected at any age, but most significant economic loss arises from infection during the two months prior to ripening. Pod infected at this stage can be a total loss because the fungus can easily pass from the pod husk to the seed-coat of the bean in a cacao still be convergent only at usage of synthetic pesticide. Therefore need to be searched other alternative to control the disease, namely by exploiting antagonist microbe. Research has been done in Laboratory of Microbiology and Microbial Pesticide, Department of Agroecotechnology, Faculty of Agriculture, Udayana University, Jl. PB. Sudirman Denpasar, from April until October 2007. There are three research phases done like : 1) insulation pathogen cause of disease, 2) antagonist microbe inhibitory activity test to growth of pathogen in vitro, and 3) inhibitory activity test free cell antagonist microbe to growth of pathogen in vitro. Result of research shows, found two species pathogen cause of pod rot disease of cacao namely Phytophthora sp. (A) and Phytophthora sp. (B). Based on result of examination out of four antagonist microbes tested like Trichoderma sp.; Saccharomyces sp.; Pseudomonas fluorescens and Bacillus sp., that is most effective in depressing pathogen is Trichoderma sp. with inhibitory activity equal to 83,98% to Phytophthora sp. (A) and 82,18% to Phytophthora sp. (B) at PDA media. Secondary metabolite released by fourth of antagonist microbe depress both pathogen cause of pod rot disease of cacao at PDA media.

Abstract

Fitosterol merupakan sterol nabati, termasuk dalam senyawa metabolit sekunder dan memiliki manfaat yang luas dalam bidang kesehatan. Sumber bahan alam yang mengandung senyawa fitosterol telah banyak digunakan sebagai bahan obat, salah satunya yaitu buncis (Phaseolus vulgaris L.). Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian eksplorasi, bertujuan untuk menganalisis kandungan senyawa fitosterol dalam ekstrak air, ekstrak etanol, dan hasil partisi dari ekstrak air buah buncis menggunakan teknik KLT dan KG-SM. Hasil uji fitokimia menunjukkan bahwa dari 13 ekstrak hasil partisi dengan pelarut n-heksan, DCM, etil asetat, dan metanol, hanya 5 ekstrak yang menunjukkan positif steroid, diantaranya ekstrak air, residu heksan, residu DCM, ekstrak metanol, dan residu metanol. Ekstrak etanol juga menunjukkan positif steroid. Hasil uji KLT pada residu heksan hasil partisi dari ekstrak air diduga merupakan senyawa stigmasterol karena memiliki harga Rf = 0,9 sama dengan harga Rf senyawa standar stigmasterol, sedangkan pada ekstrak etanol, senyawa fitosterol yang terdeteksi yaitu γ-sitosterol 6,01% dan stigmasterol 2,48%.

Abstract

Lombok Utara merupakan salah satu kabupaten di Provinsi Nusa Tenggara Barat dengan persentase penduduk miskin tertinggi mencapai 28,83%. Kejadian gempa bumi yang berpusat di Kabupaten Lombok Utara (KLU) tahun 2018 berdampak nyata pada penurunan perekonomian masyarakat. Oleh karena itu, diperlukan upaya untuk memulihkan dan meningkatkan perekonomian masyarakat diantaranya melalui pembukaan kesempatan kerja atau berusaha. Salah satu cara yang dapat dilakukan adalah melalui pemanfaatan sumber daya alam lokal yang tersedia menjadi produk bernilai ekonomi tinggi. Salah satu jenis sumber daya alam yang banyak tersedia di Kabupaten Lombok Utara, khususnya Desa Genggelang, Kecamatan Gangga yang menjadi pilihan lokasi kegiatan pengabdian masyarakat ini adalah tumbuhan penghasil minyak atsiri seperti kayu putih dan cengkeh. Pemanfaatan tumbuhan-tumbuhan tersebut sudah sangat dikenal luas sebagai sumber utama minyak atsiri baik sebagai minyak wangi maupun pemanfatan lainnya dalam bidang kesehatan. Kegiatan pengabdian masyarakat ini diarahkan untuk membina masyarakat desa dalam mengisolasi minyak atsiri dengan cara pemberian pemaparan mengenai teknik destilasi uap dan membuat produk kimia berbasis minyak kayu putih dan limbah daunnya seperti sabun, lotion dan lulur. Sehingga, dengan keterampilan ini diharapkan dapat menciptakan peluang usaha keluarga berbentuk industry rumah tangga (home industry) yang mampu meningkatkan kesejahteraan masyarakat.

Abstract

The main objective of this study is to deconstruct tax amnesty based on Indonesia’s Principles (Pancasila) values. A post-modern paradigm is used to deconstruct current tax amnesty. The methodology used in this research is a combination of Derrida’s deconstruction and Latif’s thought on historicity, rationality, and actuality. The results show that the initial design of tax amnesty is repatriation, which is inferior in the development of taxpayers’ character. Materiality, selfinterest, and measurement object are tax amnesty logos. Religiosity, honesty, civility, and mutual cooperation are used in a reverse hierarchy of the before mentioned tax amnesty logos. The result of deconstruction is tax amnesty based on Pancasila in order to construct social justice.Tax amnesty is a current issue; however, only a limited number of research was dedicated on the philosophy of tax amnesty law. The research offers new meaning to tax amnesty based on Pancasila values which may encourage voluntary tax compliance.
