Abstract

The study aims to analyze the problem-solving ability (PSA) of students during the learning process with conceptual change learning model. This research is included in quantitative descriptive research with three experimental classes. PSA at the time of learning is measured by an assessment instrument that refers to the problems in the LKPD and PSA evaluation sheet which contains two description questions at every meeting for four meetings. The assessment instrument refers to four PSA indicators, namely the ability to understand problems, plan solutions, carry out problem-solving, and check again, which is done during the learning process. Data analysis of PSA research results based on LKPD found that 58% of students have PSA in the very good category and 42% in the good category, while based on the evaluation results at each meeting it was found that 27% in the very good category, 62% in the good category, and 11% in the medium category. Analysis of research data shows that the conceptual change learning model is good to improve the problem-solving ability of harmonic motion of students of SMAN 8 Mataram.

Abstract

The aim of this research is to improve the quality process, to develop creative thinking, and to create a good result of lesson study by implementing a problem solving method. This research is a class action research which involved 19 physcics students who enroll in matrik and vector space subject at even semester of 2017-2018. The data was collected by employing test and interview. It is analyzed by descriptive method. The result of this problem solving reseach are (1) giving the positive impact towards the ability of creative thinking (2) increasing the result of learning process (3) improving the ability of students to better understand the learning process and the ability to apply this problem solving  method in any types of problems, and (4) increasing students' learning activity. Based on the result of this research, it is recommended to implementing the problem solving method in any types of learning. The problem solving method is expected to be the answer of any problems in physics.

Abstract

This research aim to examine the effect of probing prompting assisted video learning model for learning outcomes and critical thinking skill of student. This type of research is quasi experiment with untreated control group design with pretest and posttest. The research population was all students of X MIA MAN 2 Mataram. Sampling technique of this research use cluster random sampling so that there are two classes that is X MIA 1 as the experimental class and X MIA 3 as the control class. Type test used 20 choice question for learning outcomes and 5 essay for critical thinking skill. The posttest mean value for learning outcomes in experimental class and control class is 42,36 and 34,86. The posttest mean value for critical thinking skill in experimental class and control class is 54,86 and 46,08. Hypothesis testing of this research is MANOVA. The result of MANOVA test show a significant 0,004 so H0 is rejected and Ha is accepted. The conclusion of this research is there is the effect of  probing prompting learning model assisted video for learning outcomes and critical thinking skill of student.

Abstract

This study aims to determine the effect of the cognitive conflict approach to a decrease in students’ misconceptions on business material and energy. This research is a quasi-experimental study with an “untreatsearch is a quasi-exed control group design withperimental study with pretest and posttest” design. The population in this study were all class X participants of SMAN 1 Gerung with Purposive Sampling sampling techniques.  The experimental class (X MIPA 4) was given special treatment in the form of a cognitive conflict approach, while the control class (X MIPA 5) was not given special treatment and continued to study as before. Data on decreasing misconception were measured during learning and based on tests, both data were obtained based on the initial test and final test data. Data, when learning decreases misconception, is obtained based on the percentage decrease in misconceptions that occur. Data to test hypotheses with several variabeles in this study using the IBM SPSS 23 program with a significant 5%. The results of the analysis were obtained  so that  is rejected and  is accepted, so it can be concluded that there is an influence of cognitive conflict approach to a decrease in students’ misconceptions.

Abstract

This study aimed to determine the effect of PhET media guided inquiry learning model toward the problem solving and critical thinking skills of high school students. This type of research was quasi-experimental research design with pretest-posttest control group design. The population was all students of class X IPA of SMAN 1 Jereweh in the 2018/2019 academic year. The samples were taken using purposive sampling technique and obtained class X IPA 1 as an experimental class and class X IPA 2 as a control class. The independent variable of guided inquiry learning model assisted by PhET media that was  imposed on the experimental class, while the ability to solve problems and critical thinking  as the dependent variable. The data were taken using essay tests to measure students' problem solving and critical thinking skills. The research hypothesis was tested using the Manova test with a significant level of 5% aided by IBM SPSS 23 and the results of the hypothesis test showed a significant 0.028 so Ha was accepted because sig. <0.05.Based on these results it can be concluded that there was  an effect of the treatment of guided inquiry model assisted by PhET media on the students'physicsproblem solving  and critical thinking skills at senior high school.

Abstract

Tujuan dari kegiatan pengabdian kepada masyarakat yang dilakukan oleh tim pengabdian yaitu membimbing guru-guru dalam membuat media permainan edukatif yang meliputi program aplikasi findthatword dan eclipse pada Guru-Guru MIN 3 Cakranegara. Metode yang digunakan adalah metode ceramah, pembimbingan penyusunan media permainan edukatif, diskusi dan Tanya jawab. Hasil pengabdian para guru dapat mendesain sendiri media permainan edukatif yang meliputi media permainan acak kata dan TTS sesuai dengan materi pelajaran yang  diajarkan masing-masing, para guru sangat antusias dan semangat mengikuti kegiatan pengabdian ini karena bagi mereka kegiatan ini sangat bermanfaat, membantu para guru dalam mempersiapkan proses pembelajaran dan merupakan salah satu alternative media permaianan yang efektif sehingga proses  pembelajaran berjalan optimal dan menyenangkan bagi peserta didik.Training of Educative Game Media Development in MIN 3 Teachers CakranegaraAbstract: The purpose of the community service activities carried out by the dedication team is to guide teachers in making educational media games that include findthatword and eclipse application programs for MIN 3 Cakranegara Teachers. The method used is the lecture method, guiding the preparation of educational media games, discussions and question and answer. The results of the dedication of the teachers can design their own educational media games which include random word and TTS game media in accordance with the subject matter taught respectively, the teachers are very enthusiastic and enthusiastic in participating in this service because for them this activity is very useful, helping the teachers in preparing the learning process and is an alternative game media that is effective so that the learning process is optimal and enjoyable for students.

Abstract

The purpose of this study was to determine the level of teacher preparedness in primary schools against natural disasters. The research sample was 15 teachers from SD N 6 Mataram. Data collection is done through questionnaires consisting of 5 aspects of disaster, knowledge and signs, impacts, risks and efforts to reduce, preparedness and procedures and first aid tools for victims. We results obtained are (1) knowledge and signs of the occurrence of disasters are in the less category (56.11%). (2) the impact caused if a disaster occurs is in the less category (49.33%). (3) Risk and efforts to reduce disaster risk in the good category (73.33%). (4) Disaster preparedness in the good category (79.05%), and (5) victim first aid procedures and tools in the less category (53.33%). Based on the results, it can be concluded that the level of preparedness of teachers in facing disasters in SD Negeri 6 Mataram is in the sufficient category of 61.71%. Therefore, socialization and knowledge related to disaster preparedness for teachers in primary schools need to be improved

Abstract

Abstract. This research aims to determine the structure of disaster mitigation learning in elementary schools. It is Research and Development also known as RnD study. This research gives a real-life example of how a teacher can teach and embed the awareness about natural disasters in an uncomplicated and fun way, by using the disaster mitigation model of teaching. The study results in one design of a disaster mitigation model of teaching and a teaching structure implementing a scientific approach on disaster mitigation. This research is based on the development and real-life experience of the researcher team in teaching and doing observation and research on the headmaster, teachers, and the students of Mataram 6 elementary school. It is the pilot project of this research, which in return will be implemented in other schools in the urban, coastal area, as well as the mountainous area in Lombok Island. The result shows that the headmaster and the teachers’ response towards the disaster mitigation model of teaching had been really positive, with only 5% of the teachers claims that they are interested, whilst the other 95% claim that the study is extremely interesting for them. The students were very enthusiastic and active during the learning process. Besides, the claim to have meaningful benefit from this mitigation learning. This thus indicated that this mitigation model of teaching and learning can be used as a guide or reference in embedding the awareness for natural disasters among the school community.

Abstract

One of the problems that are often found in universities, especially in physics subjects, is the existence of misconceptions in students (learners). This study aims to determine the effectiveness of using the multiple-representation approach Based on E-Module in reducing the misconceptions of prospective physics teachers during the Covid-19 pandemic. The method used is quantitative research with a one-group pretest-posttest design. The sample consisted of 25 prospective physics teachers at one of the universities in the city of Mataram. The instrument used in this research is an open-ended three-tier test. A total of 10 test items with 30 questions were used in this study. The test was given twice, namely before and after treatment. The test results data were then analyzed using descriptive statistics to determine the decrease in the percentage of students who experienced misconceptions. Based on the results of data analysis shows that there is a decrease in the percentage of students who experience misconceptions by 31.89% from the initial number of 57.19 to 25.30%. This decrease in misconceptions was also followed by an increase in the percentage of students who understood the concept from 18.14 to 72.38%. Thus, it can be concluded that the application of the multiple representation approach assisted by E-Modules can be used as an alternative to reduce misconceptions and improve understanding of the concept of prospective physics teachers in the COVID-19 pandemic

Abstract

This research aims to develop problem-based learning model learning tools with multiple intelligences approaches to improve the effective physics problem-solving skills of learners. This research is research and development with 4D models defined, designed, developed, and disseminated. The products developed in the form of syllabus, lesson plan, student worksheet, and instrument tests of learners’ problem-solving and logical-mathematical skills. The validity of the product was assessed by six validators, namely three lecturers and three practitioner teachers with a Likert scale analysis. After the validity test, the learning device was conducted a limited trial that aims to measure the effectiveness of learning devices to get N-gain test scores through questionnaires about the ability to solve problems and mathematical logic of learners and efficiency determined from the response of teachers and learners. The results of the study based on assessments from validators showed the overall device averaged above 3.27 with excellent categories. Then the average result of the N-gain test obtained a value of 0.69 with a moderate category. Based on the results of the analysis of the response of learners to the module showed positive criteria with the acquisition of 66.7%. These results can be concluded that the developed product is effectively used in learning
