Abstract

This article will review the various meanings of learning. However, there are some understandings among them which state that demonstration learning contains changes in someone who has demonstrated learning. The development is intentional, positive and dynamic, and beneficial. The nature of intentionality implies that changes occur due to experiential practices that are applied by students intentionally or unintentionally, and not by chance. Positive treatment implies that the change is of equal value to the student's assumptions, and creates something new that is superior to the previous one. The dynamic nature implies that change occurs because of the efforts made by students, not without other people, for example because of the development cycle. The nature of success implies that the change has an impact and benefits for students. The practical nature implies that the change is durable enough and can be replicated or used at any point required. Learning changes can appear as abilities, tendencies, perspectives, gains, information, or appreciation.

Abstract

Islamic boarding schools are among the oldest Islamic educational establishments in Indonesia; they are found in many towns, particularly in the countryside. Initially, Islamic boarding schools stressed the role of moral principles in society and taught the Islamic faith as a life guide (tafaqquh fi al-din). (Mastuhu, 1994). It is estimated that the majority of Indonesia's Muslim population attended Islamic boarding schools when they were founded 300–400 years ago, particularly in Java (Religion, 1984/1985). Following Indonesia's independence, pesantren education grew increasingly regimented and its curriculum more set, particularly during the New Order transition and the country's rapid economic expansion. For instance, Islamic boarding schools use a dual curriculum—that is, the Ministry of National Education curriculum and the Ministry of Religion curriculum—to provide a religious education in addition to normal topics. Abstract

This study aims to explore the concept of God for the mystics and its contribution to religious tolerance in Indonesia. The questions to be answered in this research are (1) What is the concept of God for the Mystics ?, (2) What and how does the concept contribute in relation to religious tolerance, especially in Indonesia. This research is a qualitative research. The data source comes from the literature. The analysis method uses a hermeneutic which consists of elements of description and interpretation. The results of this study found that the God of the mystics is an impersonal God, in the sense of not being described. Another reality besides Him is His image. He is One and the cause of everything. He can only be found or approached by those who have purified themselves. The contribution of the mystics to the tolerance of the religious community lies in the similarity of their conception of God, namely as God who is undefined. This similarity can be used as a meeting point that allows the Religious community to be more inclusive and enlarge the equation, not the other way around
