Abstract

Blast-off or rocket launcher is a physics phenomena about mechanical of motion specially momentum principal. Unlike other flying objects like blimps and airplanes, blass-off uses the principle of changing momentum as a driving force to able fly in the air. The definition of force is a rate of changing momentum, the definition is illustrated by first-order differential equation which can be solved analytically or numerically. Unfortunately, during class learning, the equation is only used to solve collision problems instead of being used to explain blast-off phenomena which is very interesting to learn mostly. Moreover, if the explanation in the class uses visual media such as Graphic User Interface (GUI). Blast-off simulation is designed from the solving of the first differential numerically, and then the algorithm is compiled using Matlab aplication with an output in the form of a GUI so students become more interested in learning momentum and learning effectiveness will be incrised.

Abstract

The purpose of this study is to create a speed prediction tool in a uniformly accelerated linear motion using a single-dimensional interpolation method consisting of linear, cubic, cubic spline, and nearest neighbor interpolation methods. This tool is packaged in the form of Graphic User Interface (GUI) using Matlab programming language. This tool can be used as a medium of the analysis of the object speed experiencing a uniformly accelerated linear motion and a combination of several uniformly accelerated linear motions. Speed prediction results using linear, cubic, and cubic spline interpolation methods do not differ much from the results of analytical calculations, while speed prediction results using nearest neighbor interpolation method are less in line with the results of analytical calculations because nearest neighbor interpolation method will generate constant values around the data point.  This tool can also be used as a learning medium to make it easier for students to learn the concept of uniformly accelerated linear motion in order to reduce the misconceptions in the material.

Abstract

The aim of this study is create an analysis media for calculating the electric current in a closed circuit with one or more loops.  Gauss-Jordan, Gauss-Seidel, and Cramer methods were used in this study. This media is packaged into Graphic User Interface (GUI) with matlab language program assisting. In this study, Linear Equation System (SPL) was obtained from kirchhoff current law and kirchhoff voltage law concepts.  Gauss-Seidel method is not always convergent for each formed SPL, because it can only be applied when coefficient matrix A was diagonally dominant. The application of this analysis media made the calculation of closed circuit electric current with one or more loops became accurate and time saving.

Abstract

The aim of our research is to create an educational game on the subject of kinematics based on MATLAB program. Educational games are made using the MATLAB programming algorithm packaged in the form of Graphical User Interface (GUI). Our educational games can be used as one of the innovations of learning media to increase student interesting in physics and at the same time to provide other examples of the application of the MATLAB GUI in addition to being a calculation, analysis, and simulation tool in physics. This educational game based on MATLAB presents kinematics questions in a more attractive and enjoyable. With this educational game, students able to learn both of kinematics and MATLAB programming at the same time.
