Abstract

This study aimed to describe the portrait of multiliteracy learning in elementary school students in the Bandung. The research data were obtained from giving questionnaires, interviews, and observation. The urgency of this research was the evaluation of teacher competence in planning, implementing and evaluating learning. The results showed about learning preparation that was found in the high category, learning implementation that was found in the medium category, the assessment that was found in the very high category, and professional development that was found in the low category. The results of observations of teacher and student activities that occurred during the learning process showed multiliteracy activities. The researcher obtained read and write literacy activities at 60%, numeracy literacy at 50%, scientific literacy at 40%, cultural literacy at 40%, technology literacy at 20%, and communication literacy at 20%. These results indicated that multiliteracy learning was still lacking, and it needs to be improved

Abstract

TEACHER COMPETENCY DEVELOPMENT THROUGH SOCIALIZATION AND MULTILITERATION ORIENTED RADEC LEARNING MODEL WORKSHOP. This study was conducted on teachers in Ciamis Regency, which examined the attitudes, knowledge and skills of teachers as well as how the teacher competency training needs. Implementation of teacher competency training which is conducted to facilitate teachers in planning, implementing and evaluating multiliterative oriented learning. The teacher competency development workshop was attended by 70 teachers from various elementary schools in Ciamis district. In the workshop activities, various learning issues were explained in the era 4.0 and society 5.0 and learning models that can facilitate various 21st century skills including multiliterative learning. The teacher competency development workshop can support them to overcome the challenges they face during their teaching practice. The data shows that there is a very high need for training that can assist teachers in mastering various teaching skills, especially in facilitating multiliteracy-oriented learning. Some data also show about the teacher's lack of understanding of the learning model. There are also data results that show a lack of student involvement in multiteracy activities both in learning and given assignments. This is reinforced by the low percentage of teaching activities that involve students in higher order thinking skills.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menghasilkan perangkat pembelajaran IPA berorientasi Scientific Approach yang valid, praktis, dan efektif untuk melatihkan keterampilan Berpikir Siswa. Pengembangan perangkat pembelajaran menggunakan model model 4-D dan diujicobakan di kelas V di Sekolah Dasar dengan One-Group Pretest-Posttest Design. Pengumpulan data menggunakan metode observasi, tes, dan angket. Teknik analisis data menggunakan analisis deskriptif kuantitatif, kualitatif dan uji T. Penelitian pengembangan ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui kualitas (validitas, kepraktisan, dan keefektifan) perangkat pembelajaran IPA Berorientasi Scientific Approach Untuk Melatihkan Keterampilan Berpikir.Penelitian ini dilaksanakan dalam dua tahap, yaitu pengembangan perangkat mengikuti model 4-D yang dikembangkan oleh Thiagarajan, Semmel dan Semmel, dilanjutkan implementasi perangkat pembelajaran di kelas. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa perangkat yang dikembangkan telah valid, praktis, dan efektif. Valid terlihat dari penilaian validator terhadap RPP; LKS; buku siswa; instrumen penilaian hasil belajar pengetahuan (keterampilan berpikir), keterampilan, dan sikap. Praktis terlihat dari persentase keterlaksanaan tahapan pembelajaran sebesar 100%; skor keterlaksanaan pembelajaran di kelas V sebesar 3,60; aktifitas yang mendukung scientifiec approach lebih dominan dalam pembelajaran dan aktivitas tidak relevan mengalami penurunan setiap pertemuan; siswa memberikan respon positif terhadap perangkat dan proses pembelajaran berorientasi scientific approach yang telah dikembangkan.Efektif terlihat dari ketuntasan individual hasil belajar pengetahuan (keterampilan berpikir) siswa kelas IV sebesar 90,%. Kendala yang dihadapi dalam penelitian ini adalah siswa belum terbiasa menggunakan keterampilan berpikir masalah sehingga perlu penambahan waktu tersendiri untuk melatihkan keterampilan tersebut.Berdasarkan hasil analisis data dapat disimpulkan bahwa perangkat pembelajaran IPA dengan menggunakan Scientific Approach yang dikembangkan layak dapat melatihkan keterampilan berpikir siswa yang digunakan dalam pembelajaran pada mata pelajaran IPA.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis pemahaman siswa dan guru terhadap aspek Nature of Science (NOS) di sekolah dasar di Kabupaten Enrekang Sulawesi Selatan dan Kabupaten Purwakarta di Provinsi Jawa Barat  yang terdiri dari  Basis Empiris (Empiris Base),  Tentatif (Tentative), Teori dan Hukum (Theories and Law), Keterlibatan Sosial Budaya (Socio Cultural embeddednes), Kreativitas (Creativity), Metode Ilmiah (Scientific Method),  dan Subjektif (Subjective). Hasil penelitian diharapkan dapat menjadi masukan bagi Guru Sekolah Dasar dalam meningkatkan pemahaman dan kualitas siswa di sekolah dasar. Penelitian ini dilakukan dengan menggunakan metode elaborative yang melibatkan 45 siswa dan 2 guru kelas V sekolah dasar. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa pada umumnya responden pada penelitian ini menganggap bahwa aspek-aspek Nature of Science (NOS) harus dilakukan dan dipahami. Secara umum responden pada penelitian ini merasa setuju dengan indikator-indikator Nature of Science (NOS, namun ada beberapa aspek yang dianggap tidak setuju. Hasil penelitian ini berimplikasi terhadap peninjauan pembelajaran sains dan aspek-aspek pendukungnya. Kata Kunci       : Nature of Science (NOS), IPA, Sekolah Dasar

Abstract

An integrated curriculum is an educational approach that prepares students to face lifelong learning. In curriculum integration, schools must view education as a process of developing the abilities needed in life, especially in facing 21st-century life challenges, not discrete subjects that are divided into different fields. Integrated learning will provide the opportunity for students to understand the complex problems that exist in the surrounding environment with a complete view. With this integrated learning, students are expected to have the ability to identify, gather, assess, and use information that is around them meaningfully. This can be obtained not only through the provision of new knowledge to students but also through the opportunity to strengthen and apply it in a variety of increasingly diverse new situations. The main focus of this article is to analyze the implementation of integrated learning in the curriculum in Indonesia. The integrated curriculum developed by Robin Fogarty has many advantages that can be adapted in the development of education in Indonesia, including the revised Curriculum 2013. Academics and practitioners must comprehensively understand the nature of the ten curriculum models (Robin Fogarty) and Curriculum 2013 before making tools and implementing them in learning.

Abstract

Tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah untuk mengidentifikasi tingkat pemahaman siswa dan guru SD tentang Nature of Science (NOS). Jenis penelitian ini adalah penelitian deskriptif dengan metode survei. Purposive sampling digunakan sebagai teknik pengambilan sampel. Sampel dalam penelitian ini adalah siswa dan guru SD dari Kabupaten Kuningan dan Kabupaten Purwakarta di Jawa Barat, serta dari Kabupaten Kendal dan Kota Surakarta di Jawa Tengah. Kuesioner yang berisi 30 item pernyataan yang dikembangkan oleh peneliti dalam konsultasi dengan dosen, guru, dan kepala sekolah yang didasarkan pada literatur yang relevan digunakan sebagai instrumen dalam penelitian ini. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa siswa memahami tingkat NOS pada kriteria Cukup dengan skor 65 sedangkan guru pada kriteria Baik dengan skor 72. Temuan dari penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa pemahaman NOS siswa memiliki kriteria yang berbeda dengan NOS guru. Akhirnya, penelitian ini merekomendasikan bahwa guru harus memahami NOS dan pembelajaran reflektif eksplisit, serta bagaimana mengajarkan NOS dengan pembelajaran reflektif eksplisit. Understanding the Nature of Science (NOS) by elementary school students and teachers AbstractThe purpose of this study was to identify the understanding level of elementary students and teachers of the nature of science (NOS). This type of research was a descriptive study with a survey method. Purposive sampling was used as a sampling technique. Sample in this study were students and teachers from Kuningan Regency and Purwakarta Regency in West Java, and from Kendal Regency and Surakarta City in Central Java. A questionnaire containing 30 items of statements developed by researchers in consultation with lecturers, teachers, and principals which based on the relevant literature was used as an instrument in this research. The results showed that the students understanding levels of NOS at the Immediate criteria with a score of 65 while the teacher on the Good criteria with a score of 72. Findings from this study indicate that the student's understanding of NOS has different criteria than the teacher's NOS. Finally, this study recommends that teachers have to understand with NOS and explicit-reflective learning, and how to teach NOS with explicit-reflective learning.

Abstract

Competence plays an important role for teachers. It is also emphasized by the government during the performance of their duties. Teachers’ competence is one of the crucial things that they must have in order to teach the students in a class. Based on the results of the questionnaire, it was found that the teachers considered that multiliteracy was something very important as part of the industrial revolution 4.0 era. Multiliteracy is one thing that is competitive in the era of the industrial revolution 4.0 as well as one of the difficult competencies in the 21st century. Multiliteracy is also a competency that must be possessed by students first by a teacher. In Indonesia itself, every student and teacher is very valuable to have multiliteracy skills. The most widely encountered and mastered literacy by teachers is reading/writing literacy. In teaching multiliteracy, teachers face many obstacles, the obstacles they encounter are integrating basic competencies and determining the right model.Thus, every teacher has to learn how to improve their ability and competence. As the front line in the field of education, teachers need to be prepared to acquire qualified competence in teaching skill. One of the ways to ensure teachers’ eligible competence is training. Teacher training is an important key in improving teachers’ competence. The purpose of this study is to analyze the effect of teachers’ training on competence development.  This study used a descriptive quantitative design. The object of this research was 261 teachers in Indonesia. The purpose of this study was to analyze the effect of teacher competence.

Abstract

This research aims to examine the process in the Domyak Ritual and the values ​​contained therein, that can be integrated into character education in Indonesia’s schools. The method used is a descriptive qualitative method with an ethno pedagogic approach. Data collection techniques used in this study were literature review, interview, observation and documentation. The results of the study can be explained, that the Domyak Ritual was born in 1920 and initially as a ritual ceremony requesting for rain. In the Domyak Ritual there are four parts, namely preparation, gending tatalu (activities hitting musical instruments), ngado’a (pray), and entertainment of various kinds of arts. The values ​​contained in the Domyak Ritual are an attitude of responsibility, always starting activities with prayer, always maintaining community harmony and always keeping oneself and the environment clean. Therefore, the values ​​contained in the Domyak Ritual are expected to be integrated into character education in schools.
