Abstract

Abstrack: The background of this study is students low in mathematical of  X grade at SMK Muhammadiyah 2 Pekanbaru and never doing to implementation problem based learning model. This research conducted in second semester of academic years 2016/2017. The aimed of study is to find out whether there is significant effect of using “problem based learning model” toward students mathematical of X grade at SMK Muhammadiyah 2 Pekanbaru. The study employed the pre-experimental research focus on static group comparison study design. The sampling of technique was purposive. There were two sampling in this study; the experimental class was using “problem based learning model” and the control class with conventional learning. In collecting data used daily test as pre-test and test scores as post-test whether to see how the students ability in before and after giving a treatment. The finding of this research showed experimental class better than control class. So, it can be concluded  there was significant effect of using problem based learning model toward student’s mathematical of X grade at SMK Muhammadiyah 2 Pekanbaru.

Abstract

Abstract: The background of this research is low of mathematics learning outcomes of class VII.2 SMPN 9 Pekanbaru in second semester of the 2015/2016 academic year. Subject of this research are  36 students, consist of 18 male and 18 female student with heterogenous level of academic capabilities. The type of this research is the Classroom Action Research that has purpose to improve the learning proses and to increase student’s mathematic learning outcomes with applied the cooperative learning with Think Pair Square Structural Approach.  This research consist of two cycles that each cycle composed of 4 stages, such as planning, implementation, observation and reflection. At every end of a cycle, math achievement test will be held. The research instrument consists of learning devices that involve Syllabus, Lesson Plan and Student Worksheet, and instrument data collector that involve the observation sheet and math achievement test. Observation sheets is analyzed by narrative descriptive analysis and math achievement test analyzed by statistic descriptive analysis. The action is successful if the learning process covenient with the Lesson Plan and the number of students who achieve the score of Minimum Mastery Criteria increase in math achievement test I and II. Most of students were excited and active in learning process, as while they were doing the steps of learning, presenting Student Worksheet, responding to friend’s presentation and giving the conclusion of learning. Based on the data analysis, the percentage of students who achieve Minimum Mastery Criteria before the action is as much as 41.67% and at first cycle as much as 55.55% and at second cycle as much as 80.55%. The result of the research show that, the learning process has improved and the student’s mathematic learning outcomes also increased after applying the Cooperative Learning with Think Pair Square Structural Approach.                                                                                                                                              Key Words:  Classroom Action Research, Cooperative Learning, Think Pair Square Structural Approach, Learning Process, Student Mathematic Learning Outcomes

Abstract

Abstract: This research was based on the students achievement in learning mathematics especially grade VIII2 of SMP Negeri 2 Sungai Apit under the Mastery Minimum Criteria with percentage of 40,74% on the test about Tribe Factorization Algebra. This research is a class action research. This research aims to improve the learning process and improve learning result in mathematics in grade VIII2 of SMP Negeri 2 Sungai Apit by that applying the cooperative learning model of structural approach Think Pair Share (TPS). The subject of this research were the students in the class VIII2 of SMP Negeri 2 Sungai Apit that consist of 14 boys and 13 girls at the first semester of academic year 2016/2017. The instruments of data collection in this research were observation sheets and student?s mathematic tests. The activity of teacher and students showed an improvement of learning process prior to the action on the first and second cycles. The results of this research showed an increasing number of students learning mathematic from the basic score with percentage 40,74% to 59,25% on the first test and 70,37% on second test. The frequency distribution analysis as well showed an improvement student achievement are increasing the number of student who received higher criteria on the first test and second test compared the number of student who received higher criteria on the basic score. On the enaugh criteria, the number of student at interval 41-60 descreased from basic score to the first test and second test. Furtehrmore, on the higher criteria, the number of student at interval 81-100 increased from basic score to first test and second test. Based on the result of this research could be concluded that that applying the cooperative learning model of structural approach Think Pair Share (TPS) can improve the learning process and improve the student?s achievement of learning mathematic in grade VIII2 of SMP Negeri 2 Sungai Apit in the first semester academic years 2016/2017.

Abstract

Abstarct: This research is a class action research with the objective to fix the learning process and to improve student’s math achievements by applying Think Pair Square (TPS) Cooperative Structural Learning Approach Model. The subject of this research are the students of class XI IPA 2 SMA Negeri 1 Pekanbaru at the second semester of academic years 2013/2014, which amounted to 32 students, consists of 16 male and female students with heterogeneous level of academic capabilities. This research consists of 2 cycles, of which each cycle in composed of 4 stages, which is planning, implementation, observation and reflection. In every end of a cycle, daily exams will be implemented. Data collection is done by observation and tests are daily exams. Data analysis is done by narrative descriptive and statistic descriptive analysis. The result from the observation page shows that teacher-student activities had performed well after action has been made. Most of the students have participated actively in the learning process that has been exercised, such as step-by-step learning, presenting student worksheets or question papers, responding a fellow classmate’s presentation, and giving learning conclusions. Students even try to resolve questions that the teacher has given correctly by the end of the learning process. An action is deemed successful when the number of students that reached the Minimum Mastery Criteria had increased by the first and second daily exams. The number of students that reached Minimum Mastery Criteria from the base score, the first and the second daily exams, in that order are 31.3%, 46.9%, and 62.5%. The result of this research shows that the Think Pair Square Cooperative Learning Approach is capable of fixing the learning process and increasing math achievements from the students of class XI IPA 2 SMA Negeri 1 Pekanbaru at the second semester of academic years 2013/2014. Abstract

Abstract: The background of this study is the restrict of mathematics instrument as supporting referring to 2013 curiculum. This study has purpose to develop mathematics learning instruments as lesson plans and student worksheet with problem based learning’s model on comparison of class for 7th grade junior high school. This method used are 4D model by Define, Design, Develop, Disseminate. But, in this study only to third step or develop step. A learning instruments was validating by three validator and then fix based on validator’s suggestion. Lesson plans that has validated, then trials to small group consist of eight students from SMP Negeri 1 Kuantan Mudik. Based on the data analysis, it can be conclude that mathematics learning instruments is very valid with mean score of lesson plans is 3,71 and mean score of student worksheet is 3,76. This student worksheet has also reached the practical qualification with mean percentage of student respone is 94,37 on small test group.Keyword: Mathematics Learning Instrument, Problem Based Learning, Comparison.
