Abstract

This study aimed to determine the effect of vitamin C enrichment on fresh trash feed on the growth of Asian seabass (L. calcarifer) and their optimal dosage. The study used a completely randomized design with 4 treatments and 5 replications for each treatment. The treatment given was a dose of vitamin C 3.5 g / kg of fresh trash feed (A); dose of vitamin C 4 g / kg fresh trash feed (B); dose of vitamin C 4.5 g / kg fresh trash feed (C); and fresh trash feed without vitamins (D). Enrichment of vitamin C in fresh trash feed significantly affected the absolute growth of Asian seabass. Treatment A, 17,60; treatment B, 19.79; treatment C, 17.11; and treatment D 13.32 g. Enrichment of vitamin C in fresh trash feed also significantly affected the specific growth of Asian seabass. Treatment A, 2.41%; treatment B, 2.60%; treatment C, 2.37%; and treatment D 2.04%. Enrichment of vitamin C in fresh trash feed did not significantly affect the survival of Asian seabass. Treatment A, 42.5%; treatment B, 47.5%; treatment C, 45%; and 40% D treatment

Abstract

Budikdamber is cultivating fish and vegetables in one bucket, which is an aquaponic system. Usually, the aquaponics system developed so far requires pumps and filters, requiring electricity, ample land, expensive and complicated costs. The concept is simple and does not require significant capital, and it does not need a large room or pool to be an added value of this technology. The Budikdamber technique can be one of the community's solutions to innovate fish and vegetable cultivation at once in one container. In addition, with the current state of the COVID-19 pandemic, Budikdamber activities can be a solution for family food security. Community service was carried out in Fitu Village, South Ternate District, in June 2021. The objectives of this community service are Providing information to the public on how to use the narrow land on the terraces and yards for fish and vegetable cultivation in buckets so that people can maintain food security during the current COVID-19 pandemic. Budikdamber (Fish Cultivation in Buckets) cultivates fish and vegetables in one bucket: an aquaponics system (fish and vegetable polyculture) as a community solution in providing food needs COVID-19 pandemic. It could use as a business opportunity to help the family economy.

Abstract

Maggot atau larva dari lalat black soldier fly (Hermetia illucens) merupakan salah satu alternatif pakan yang memenuhi persyaratan sebagai sumber protein. Bahan makanan yang mengandung protein kasar lebih dari 19%, digolongkan sebagai bahan makanan sumber protein. Maggot merupakan salah satu jenis pakan alami yang memiliki protein tinggi. Maggot mengandung 41-42% protein kasar, 31-35% ekstrak eter, 14-15% abu, 4,8-5,1% kalsium, dan 0,6-0,63% fosfor dalam bentuk kering. Larva lalat Black soldier dapat digunakan untuk mengkonversi limbah seperti limbah industri pertanian, peternakan, ataupun kotoran manusia. Untuk membudidayakan pakan alami ini selain relatif mudah, biaya yang dikeluarkan juga tidak terlalu besar. Pengabdian Kepada Masyarakat (PKM) dilaksanakan di Kelurahan Kastela pada Bulan Juli 2020 dimana Kelurahan Kastela merupakan lokasi Laboratorium yang dimiliki oleh Fakultas Perikanan dan Kelautan Unkhair dan merupakan lokasi penelitian sekaligus pengabdian masyarakat. Tujuan dari dilaksanakan pengabdian masyarakat ini yaitu; Memberi informasi kepada masyarakat bagaimana membuat pakan ikan yang murah, mudah dan ramah lingkungan sehingga masyarakat tidak kesulitan untuk mendapatkan pakan ikan. Kesimpulan dari kegiatan PKM ini adalah menambah keterampilan masyarakat teknik kultur maggot (Hermetia illucens) pengganti pellet sebagai pakan ikan.

Abstract

Blacktail Zebra fish (Dascyllus melanurus) is more caught the sea by fishermen. There are several limitations which are lower growth and feet effisincy trought the natural  habitat. Hence, an optimal feed combination is consideret  to be provided during fish rearing to increase their growth.  One of ideas was to use probiotic, which is bacteria that are able to decompose organic materials to change toxic compounds is valauable matter  to the environment. For instance, ammonia and nitrite can be converted into free ammonium. The additional in an artificial feed is exfected to gain aquaculture activities. The study was conducted for 56 days from August to October 2019 in Wetlab Kastela  FPK of Khairun University. Experiment  and four treatments were applied using Filling Randomized Design (RAL). The result shows that different additional probiotic effected the growth and survival rate of Blacktail zebra fish. The highest was found in probio7 15 ml/kg feed,  which gave 0,88g of total growth’; and the lowest was 0,27g which was found in the treatment A ((control)/ Water quality was checked  weekly and in normal condition for the growth of the growth of blacktail zebra fish.

Abstract

Seaweed K.alvarezii is a type of seaweed from the red algae (Rhodophyta) group that produces carrageenan.Carrageenan is very important as a thickening, gelling and emulsifying agent, and is widely used in various industries such as food, pharmaceuticals, cosmetics, soap, textiles, paints, toothpaste and others. Bobanehena Village, Jailolo Subdistrict, is one of the areas in West Halmahera that has been used by the local community as a seaweed K.alvarezii type of seaweed cultivation area since 2007, but it has not yet provided optimal results.To find out the extent of the impact of this business in providing benefits both financially and the level of income of seaweed cultivators in the area, it is necessary to study in depth through research. The purpose of this study was to determine the feasibility of seaweed K.alvarezii cultivation, and the income level of seaweed K.alvarezii cultivators in Bobanehena village, Jailolo subdistrict,West Halmahera regency.This research was conducted at the location of seaweed cultivation in Bobanehena Village, Jailolo subistrict, West Halmahera Regency.The time of the research was 1 (one) month, starting from November to December, 2019. Data collection was carried out on all selected respondents.The number of cultivators selected as respondents consisted of 7 groups, each of which consisted of 10 people who carried out the seaweed K. alvarezii cultivation business.The number of cultivators was randomly selected (rendom) so that the total number of seaweed cultivators was 70 people. The data collection method was carried out by survey and interview methods. The results showed that the seaweed K.alvarezii cultivation business in Bobanehena village, Jailolo subdistrict was feasible to be cultivated or developed because it had an R/C ratio > 1, with a total income level of Rp./year or Rp. 210,234,200/harvest season or Rp. 30,033,457/ group/ha.

Abstract

Seaweed is one of the important marine commodities and is a leading commodity. Seaweed K. alvarezii is a type of carrageenan-producing seaweed, as a food source for humans, pharmaceutical ingredients, as a thickener, stabilizer and emulsion.Carrageenan is used in food products, pharmaceuticals, textile cosmetics, toothpaste and other industries. Seaweed has a fairly complete nutritional content. Chemically seaweed consists of water (27.8%), protein (5.4%), carbohydrate (33.3%), fat (8.6%), crude fiber (3%), and ash (22.5%). This review article aims to reveal the nutritional composition of seaweed K. alvarezii, especially protein, amino acids, fat, ash content, minerals and vitamins. Seaweed  K. alvarezii has nutritional composition values such as protein, amino acids, fat, ash content, minerals and vitamins that vary in nutritional value.

Abstract

Blue Devil (Chrysiptera cyanea) is one of the very popular seawater ornamental fish commodities that is often sought after in international trade because of its attractive morphology. The trading ornamental fish commodities are very different from the consumption fish commodity because the trade is alive. Handling and transportation play a critical role in this system. However, the problem of delivering these goods is high mortality happened before the fish arrive at their destination. In this study, the delivery of ornamental fish using anesthetic ingredients. The anesthetic ingredients are MS-222, benzocaine, 2-phenoxyethanol, and quinaldine sulfate. The application of this material is not recommended because it will harm fish that can reduce fish immunity. The application of natural anesthetic ingredients can be used as an alternative environment. Nutmeg (Myristica sp.) is one of the local natural ingredients that have anesthetic potential. Nutmeg (Myristica sp.) contains essential oils that are useful as adaptive substances. This study aims to determine the potential of local Nutmeg (Myristica sp.) Seeds as an anesthetic material for Blue Devil (Chrysiptera cyanea) by lethal concentration / LC-50 testing. LC-50 testing in this study is an initial step to determine the appropriate anesthetic dose for Blue Devil (Chrysiptera cyanea). Making extracts from nutmeg seeds (Myristica sp.) Aims to obtain essential oils. The procedure for obtaining nutmeg (Myristica sp.) Essential oils are carried out by steam distillation. The results showed that the seeds of the Nutmeg plant (Myristica sp.) Were very influential for Blue Devil (Chrysiptera cyanea) with a very significant dose of 10ml, but not recommended for use. For development as an anesthetic material, then use a dose <2 ml.

Abstract

Ptilophora pinnatifida termasuk dalam genus alga merah yang tersebar di Indo-Pasifik Barat, terutama dihabitat subtidal pada kedalaman lebih dari 100 meter. Genus ini jarang ditemui, 3 dari 14 spesies yang telah dikenali hanya dapat dikumpulkan dari arus atau aliran air. Spesies Ptilophora umumnya berasal dari perairan beriklim sedang (hanya 2 spesies yang diketahui berasal dari perairan beriklim tropis) dan secara biogeografis area penyebarannya masih terbatas. Laju pertumbuhan rumput laut umumnya mengalami peningkatan pesat pada periode tertentu tergantung pada umur tanaman tersebut dan setelah mencapai puncak, laju pertumbuhan akan menurun. Tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui pertumbuhan harian dan pertumbuhan spefifik alga merah (Ptilophora pinnatifida). Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa pertumbuhan rumput laut Ptilophora pinnatifida yang dibudidaya pada bak selama 10 minggu (70 hari) mencapai rata-rata berat 3 gr dan panjang 1,138 cm. Hasil analisis laju pertumbuhan spesifik menunjukkan pada umur 43-57 hari terjadi pertumbuhan rumput laut yang pesat, yaitu 1,63%.Kata Kunci: rumput laut; Ptilophora pinnatifida; pertumbuhan; budidaya skala laboratorium

Abstract

Ikan kerapu bebek (Cromileptes altivelis) merupakan  jenis ikan laut yang mempunyai prospek bagus dan layak dikembangkan sebagai ikan budidaya laut akan tetapi masih terkendala dengan rentannya penyakit terutama diakibatkan oleh bakteri, hal ini disebabkan karena tingkat  kekebalan masih rendah. sehingga Kerugian yang ditimbulkan sangat besar, Usaha penanggulangan penyakit menggunakan vaksin (antigen) yang memicu produksi antibodi spesifik terhadap satu patogen tertentu, sekelompok senyawa biologi dan sintesis yang disebut imunostimulan dapat meningkatkan pertahanan non-spesifik dan spesifik.  Imunostimulan adalah suatu zat  yang mempunyai kemampuan untuk meningkatkan ketahanan tubuh terhadap infeksi. Berbagai jenis imunostimulan dapat digunakan, salah satunya adalah Chromium yeast, yang berfungsi juga untuk mengatasi bakteri.Salah satunya adalah jamur jenis “Shiitake”  atau jamur tiram putih (Pleurotus ostreatus); Tujuan penelitian ini untuk mengetahui pengaruh ß-glukan  yang diekstrak dari jamur tiram putih (Pleuratus ostratus) terhadap aktifitas fagositosis, dan tingkat kelangsungan hidup ikan kerapu bebek dan untuk mengetahui   dosis yang efektif  penggunaan  ß-glucan untuk meningkatan aktifitas fagositosis pada ikan kerapu bebek, manfaat penelitian ini diharapkan dapat memberikan informasi dalam usaha  meningkatkan aktifitas fagositosis Ikan Kerapu berupa penggunaan βGlucan sebagai immunostimulan terhadap bakteri Vibrio alginoliticusSel ini berada dalam sirkulasi darah dalam bentuk monosit, kemudian akan meninggalkan sirkulasi, menjadi matang dan menetap di jaringan pengikat sebagai macrophage. Macrophage yang berada di dalam jaringan sering disebut sebagai sel kupffer pada hepar, sel debu pada pulmo, osteoklas pada tulang, dan lain-lain.Jadi  aktivitasfagositosis macrophage meningkat setelah pemberian imunostimulan ekstrak jamur tiram putih  mengandung zat yang dapat berperan sebagai macrophage activating factor.  Sehingga Pemberian β- glucan yang diekstrak dari dinding jamur tiram putih  dapat meningkatkan aktivitas fagositosis dan  β- glucan yang paling efektifdapat meningkatkan respon imun ikan kerapu bebek terdapat pada perlakuan 100 µl/ekor.

Abstract

Ikan merupakan sumber protein hewani untuk memenuhi kebutuhan gizi masyarakat.Salah satunya adalah  ikan nila (Oreochromis niloticus). Produksi budidaya dapat ditingkatkan dengan penyediaan  bahan pakan yang berkualitas. Maka perlu ada upaya untuk membuat pakan dengan memanfaatkan bahan alamiagar menjadi murah dan biaya produksi menurun. Pakan yang dibuat dengan komposisi nutrisi sesuai dengan kebutuhan ikan. Bahan baku seperti kunyit yang  memiliki zat-zat minyak,kurkuminoid, protein, fosfor, kalium, besi dan vitamin C dan antibiotik.Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui pengaruh dari perbandingan dosis yang berbeda terhadap nafsu makan dan pertumbuhan ikan nila.Bahan yang digunakan ikan rucah, tulang ikan, dedak, jagung dan kunyit diproses sehingga menjadi tepung.Hewan uji yang digunakan benih ikan nila ukuran 12 cm, dengan jumlah 72 ekor yang dipelihara dalam akuariummasing masing diisi 6 ekor. Kunyit dicampur dalam pakan akan menghasilkan  aroma anyir yang kurang sebagaimana C (1,5 gr kunyit dalam pellet)  memiliki bau yang kurang dibandingkan dengan perlakuanyang lain. Kunyit memberikan efek antimikroba sehingga dapat di manfaatkan sebagai pengawet makanan yang mampu menghambat (bakterisidal) terhadap bakteri golongan Bacillus caerus, Bacillus subtilis, dan Bacillus megetenium dan respon yang berbeda-beda. Laju pertumbuhan bobot harianterbesar (100%). Kualitas air berada pada kisaran layak untuk budidaya. Kata Kunci :Pakan buatan, Ekstrak kunyit,Benih ikan nila,Curkumin
