Abstract

This study was aimed to determine the immersion frequency of recombinant growth hormone (rGH) in the growth stimulation of giant gourami juvenile. A total of 50 larvae at second day after first feeding, was immersed in 30 ppt salt water for 2 minutes, and then transferred into 200 mL of 9 ppt salt water containing 30 mg/L rGH in inclusion bodies form. Immersion was performed for 60 minutes and repeated once a week for two, three, four, and five weeks. As the control, fish was immersed with inclusion bodies without rGH (control-1), bovine serum albumin (control-2), 9ppt saline water without rGH (control-3) and in freshwater (control-4). Fish were kept in 7L aquaria during the first four weeks, transferred into 50L aquaria for two weeks, and then in hapa (2×1×1 m3 in size) for two weeks. The results showed that the highest (p<0.05) average body weight of giant gourami juvenile (2.23±0.19 g) was obtained at four times (four weeks) immersion treatment. Similar body weight of fish in two times (1.72±0.29 g), three times (1.68±0.34 g), and five times (1.81±0.17 g) immersion was obtained. Fish body weight of all controls was lower than the rGH-immersed fish. Average body weight of four time rGH-immersed fish (4.01 g) remained higher than other treatment and control (1.96 to 2.36 g) on 8th week of fish rearing. Survival of four times (96.67±1.15%), and five times rGH-immersion fish (95.33±4.16%) was similar, and higher than other treatments and controls (77.33 to 89.33%). Thus, higher growth rate and survival of giant gourami juvenile could be achieved by four times rGH immersion. Keywords: recombinant protein, growth hormone, immersion frequency, giant gourami

Abstract

Kepiting bakau merupakan salah satu komoditas perikanan yang memperkuat ketahanan pangan berbasis ikan yang sekarang terancam krisis perikanan global. Hal ini dicerminkan dengan terjadinya penurunan produksi tangkapan perikanan  dunia. Salah satu penyebab ancaman krisis perikanan dunia tersebut adalah Illegal, Unreported and Unregulated Fishing (IUU Fishing) dan penangkapan yang tidak ramah lingkungan. Tujuan penelitian ini adalah menganalisis kebijakan Peraturan Menteri Kelautan dan Perikanan Nomor 1 tahun 2015 dan implementasinya serta menyusun strategi dalam pengelolaan perikanan kepiting bakau yang berkelanjutan. Penelitian dilaksanakan di kota Palu dan teluk Tomini pada Bulan Juli – Desember 2015. Metode penelitian yang digunakan adalah observasi, wawancara dan pengambilan data primer secara time series yaitu data lalu lintas perdagangan selama Januari sampai dengan Desember 2015 yang telah divalidasi. Data primer diambil dari aplikasi Sister Karoline (Sistem Komputerisasi Karantine Ikan Online) yang dijalankan secara real time. Observasi dan wawancara dilakukan dengan responden yang melakukan usaha perikanan kepiting bakau di pesisir teluk Tomini kemudian dianalisa dengan melihat status perlindungannya. Analisa data dilakukan secara deskriptif dalam bentuk gambar, tabel dan grafik. Analisa pembanding yang dilakukan adalah analisa kebijakan menggunakan AWOT yang merupakan analisa gabungan antara Analytical Hierarchy Process dan SWOT Analysis. Analisa AWOT menghasilkan strategi, yaitu: perlunya pembenahan pendataan perikanan kepiting bakau, peningkatan pengawasan dan penegakan hukum, penguatan peran karantina ikan serta kampanye penyadaran stakeholder.  Kata kunci: Kepiting bakau, Permen KP Nomor 1 tahun 2015, AWOT, stakeholder

Abstract

Pangasius sp is an introductory species that is widely distributed in freshwater regions in Indonesia since the 1990s and it was initiatively reared at the beginning of 2011 using a floating net cage in Lake Ngade, Ternate. Even though it has benefited economically, there is still a lack of information on its biological and ecological aspects. Growth and survival rate are two main factors that should be known to develop Pangasius aquaculture. The study aims to understand the growth and survival rate of Pangasius by mixing different fish meals into dietary. 120 Pangasius fingerlings were placed into 12 tanks. Diet was formulated using Pearson’s square method. Three different protein fish meal sources were mixed into feed formulation namely flying fish meal, Nile meal, and eel meal. Commercial feed was used as control. Filling Randomized Design (FRD) was applied with the experimental set-up of the treatments. The results show that feed stability in water ranges from 2'23" to 3'47" while feed durability ranges from 2'09" to 2'35". The survival rate of Pangasius is almost 100% except for treatment C. Growth rates vary among treatments which is the highest found in treatment A (16.42%) followed by treatment B (15.85%), D (15.57%), and C (7.00%) respectively. Nile fish meal is also significantly affected (P<0.05) by the Specific Growth Rate (SGR) of fish. Nutrition ingredients and water quality parameters are conducive to maintaining the fish's life. All in all, different fish meal sources in the formulated diet are significantly supporting Pangasius growth.

Abstract

One of the model fish used in climate change research is clown fish (A. ocellaris). The purpose of this research is to determine the effect of temperature increases on the growth and survival of clown fish. The experiment was carried out in a laboratory with a completely randomized design. The treatments were 28°C, 29°C, 30°C, and 31°C to observe clown fish growth in length and weight, relative growth rate, increased life, and color change over an 8-week period. The treatment temperature resulted in the best growth in length, weight, specific growth rate, and survival. The treatment temperature of 29OC (P0.05) resulted in the best growth in length, weight, specific growth rate, and survival, with values of 1.81 0.09 cm, 1.06 0.15g, 0.78 0. 09%, and 100%, respectively. At 31°C, growth and life were 1.02 0.04cm, 0.18 0.16 g, 0.30 0.04%, and 66.67 5.44%, respectively. At 31 degrees Celsius, the color of Badut fish changed from red to green to blue (P, 0.05). Temperature can cause badut fish mortality and adversely affect their growth.

Abstract

Pengabdian masyarakat dilakukan atas Kerjasama dosen program studi akuakultur universitas khairun dan mahasiswa kuliah berkarya bermasayarakat gelombang II tahun 2022 di Kelurahan Fitu, Kecamatan Ternate Selatan, Kota Ternate. Topik pemanfaatan bahan baku lokal sebagai sumber pakan alternatif diangkat karena adanya peluang potensi pengembangan budidaya ikan dan potensi bahan baku lokal yang berlimpah di Kelurahan Fitu. Bentuk kegiatan ini adalah pelatihan yang diawali dengan pemberian materi dan dilanjutkan dengan praktek pembuatan pakan ikan. Hasilnya diharapkan mampu meningkatkan pemahaman mengenai potensi bahan baku lokal dan kemampuan membuat pakan ikan secara mandiri.

Abstract

ABSTRAK                                                           Telah dilakukan penelitian tentang peranan tanaman sebagai biofilter untuk menjaga kualitas air media. Penelitian ini dilakukan dengan beberapa rangkaian kerja yang dimulai pada bulan Juni - Agustus 2022 di UPT Laboratorium Terpadu Unkhair Kota Ternate. Penelitian ini dirancang dengan menggunakan Rancangan Acak Lengkap (RAL) yang terdiri 3 perlakuan dan 3 ulangan selama 60 hari. Pengukuran dilakukan terhadap suhu, salinitas, DO dan pH, amoniak, nitrat dan nitrit pada setiap minggu. Estimasi dilakukan terhadap efektifitas biofilter tanaman terhadap ammonia (N) dan fosfor (P) pada setiap perlakuan, pertumbuhan mutlak dan sintasan (SR) udang galah dan dianalisis menggunakan ANOVA dengan uji F pada taraf kepercayaan 95%. Uji Fisher (LSD) dilakukan apabila perlakuan berpengaruh nyata terhadap peubah yang diukur (P0.05). Hasil analisis memperlihatkan bahwa ketiga perlakuan tanaman tidak berbeda dalam menyerap N dari limbah budidaya udang galah. Sedangkan untuk penyerapan P dari ketiga perlakuan, jenis pakcoy menyerap paling efektif (0.725 mgL-1) dibandingkan dengan tanaman seledrei (0.540mgL-1) dan selada (0.186 mgL-1) (P0,05). Selain itu pula, konsentrasi ammonia selama penelitian cenderung menurun. Pertumbuhan mutlak dan laju pertumbuhan spesifik pada ketiga perlakuan tidak signifikan berpengaruh (P0,05), sedangkan sintasannya signifikan berpengaruh (P0,05). Meskipun demikian, ketiga tanaman dapat digunakan sebagai biofilter dalam system akuaponik.Kata kunci: Biofilter, tanaman, akuaponik, limbah, udang galahABSTRACTIt has been studied how plants can act as biofilters to preserve the standard of media water. The UPT Unkhair Integrated Laboratory in Ternate City will be the site of this research, with work series beginning in June 2022 and lasting through August 2022. Three treatments and three replications were used in this study's completely randomized design (CRD), which lasted for 60 days. Temperature, salinity, DO and pH, ammonia, nitrate, and nitrite were all measured on a weekly basis. ANOVA with the F test and a 95% confidence level were used to estimate the efficiency of the plant biofilter against ammonia (N) and phosphorus (P) in each treatment, absolute growth, and survival (SR) of gigantic prawns. When the treatment had a significant impact on the measured variables (P0.05), Fisher's test (LSD) was applied. The analysis's findings demonstrated that N absorption from the giant prawn industry's waste did not differ between the three plant treatments. Regarding the three treatments' P absorption, pakchoi (0.725 mgL-1) absorbed P more efficiently than celery (0.540 mgL-1) and lettuce (0.186 mgL-1) (P0.05). Additionally, there was a tendency for the study's ammonia concentration to decline. Survival had a significant influence (P0.05), although the absolute growth and specific growth rates of the three treatments did not (P0.05). Abstract

This research was conducted to determine the effectiveness of using fish killer fruit extract as an anesthetic in carp fingerlings. Extract fish killer fruit was used as a treatment with doses of 0 mL/L (control), 1 mL/L, 1.5 mL/L and 2 mL/L, respectively. Parameters observed were sedative time, inductive time, survival and water quality. The results showed that the 2 mL/L treatment was a sedative time of 15.5±0.72 (P<0.05), an inductive time of 12.25±0.42 (P<0.05) and survival was 93.33. ±0.27 (P<0.05) the best and normal water quality.

Abstract

Pengembangan budidaya udang vaname oleh mitra Koperasi Santo Alvin Pratama dilakukan dengan sistem intensif dengan kepadatan tinggi. Tetapi dengan sistem ini, terdapat permasalahan serius yang dihadapi yaitu dengan tingginya kepadatan menghasilkan akumulasi limbah yang besar, terutama senyawa nitrogen. Oleh karena itu, solusi untuk mengatasi permasalahan tersebut adalah dengan inovasi atau teknologi budidaya untuk mengurangi limbah, seperti aplikasi probiotik pro-KJ untuk budidaya sistem bioflok. Dalam rangka memperkenalkan dan melatih keterampilan penggunaan probiotik, maka dilakukan pelatihan dan pendampingan pada teknisi tambak sebagai peserta pelatihan untuk membuat bioflok. Hasil dari pelatihan ini menunjukkan persentase pemahaman peserta meningkat sebesar 75% setelah dilakukan sosialisasi dan pendampingan pembuatan bioflok. Sistem bioflok memanfaatkan senyawa nitrogen dari air untuk produksi biomassa mikroba. Biomassa mikroba yang dihasilkan dapat digunakan sebagai sumber nutrisi tambahan bagi udang.
