Abstract

The construction of the Posi Dam has an impact on air pollution. This study aims to determine the impact of dam construction on decreasing air quality and increasing noise due to material transportation activities. This research was conducted in the Selayar Archipelago District of South Sulawesi Province and sample testing for air quality and noise data was conducted at the Center for Occupational Safety and Health Development (BBPK3) Makassar. Forecasting methods used are mathematical calculations (modeling), expert judgment (professional judgment) and other methods carried out scientifically (scenarios, analogies and literature studies of similar activities) then converted to Environmental Quality Scale (SKL). The intended environmental quality scales are grouped in 5 categories: very good (scale 5), good (scale 4), moderate (scale 3), bad (scale 2), and very bad (scale 1) categories. The results of the study showed that the construction of the Posi Dam from the transport of building materials caused an increase in the particle content (TSP) in the air reaching 5.62 µg.m3 and noise ranged from 90 dB (A) - 100 dB (A) or an average of about 95 dB (A) the value of the parameter exceeds the quality standard based on Governor Regulation No. 69 of 2010, concerning Quality Standards and Criteria for Environmental Damage.

Abstract

The high population growth implied with increasing of various needs such as residentials, industries, health, education etc. Otherwise, increasing of various life needs causing alteration of city land purpose. This research aimed to determine the extent, describe and analyze land use changes in the areas of Takalar Regency with landsat satellite image interpretation. The study design as quantitative methods. Primary data used were obtained by downloading the maps of Landsat 5 TM, 7 ETM+, and 8 OLI images in the areas of Takalar Regency, the geometric correction, the image cropping and the interpretation. Research data are 3 map of landsat image that is year 1999, 2009 and 2019. The spatial data were analyzed using overlay process (union). The results showed that the settlement has a very significant change increased by 23,137 ha or 35.17%, while the use of forest land / mixed garden was reduced by 12,463 ha or 54.99%. This events is still continues until now. Therefore, it is contributing big impact on environment such as increasing city temperature, which is causing the decrease of Takalar Regency citizen comfortability. Therefore, sustainable development needed, for sustainable environment.

Abstract

Developments in the Capital territory of a State that is dynamic often creates an impact on the temperature of an area in the urban, it is based on the high demand of the population living in urban areas in terms of both facilities and infrastructure resulted in an urban space less support for the occurrence of such development. Increasing temperatures in urban areas provide a lot of negative effects, such is the potential for fires, air pollution up to comfort of live in the state capital. And the others problems, with the global warming which occurred in the world, such as the melting of ice on most of the north pole, unpredictable Global warming and the number of flora and fauna habitat damaged. Abstract

Sedekah Sampah adalah salah satu bentuk pengelolaan sampah partisipatif menggunakan pendekatan keagamaan. Kegiatan ini dilakukan telah dilakukan oleh Pengurus Masjid Raudatul Jannah Yayasan Khairu Ummah Makassar secara rutin dua kali sebulan sejak Maret 2021. Sedekah sampah telah memberikan manfaat secara ekonomi, sosial, dan lingkungan, yaitu selain mereduksi volume sampah yang diangkut ke Tempat Pembuangan Akhir (TPA), hasil penjualan sampah telah digunakan untuk kegiatan sosial kemasyarakatan. Namun kegiatan ini masih menghadapi masalah, yaitu rendahnya partisipasi masyarakat (hanya sekitar 20%). Tulisan ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis faktor penyebab rendahnya partisipasi masyarakat dalam kegiatan sedekah sampah. Jenis penelitian ini adalah kualitatif-deskriptif, pengumpulan data penelitian dilakukan dengan menggunakan teknik wawancara, observasi dan dokumentasi. Berdasarkan wawancara dan observasi yang dilakukan, sebagian besar masyarakat telah memiliki pengetahuan dan sikap yang baik tentang pentingnya kebersihan lingkungan. Namun pengetahuan dan sikap masyarakat masih rendah terkait metode 3R (Reduce, Reuse, Recycle), dan program sedekah sampah. Perbaikan fasilitas dan peningkatan keterlibatan tokoh masyarakat dalam mensosialisasikan dan memfasilitasi pelaksanaan program sedekah sampah adalah dua hal yang perlu dilakukan. Usaha untuk meningkatkan manfaat sedekah sampah secara ekonomi, sosial, dan lingkungan kepada masyarakat perlu dilanjutkan agar  masyarakat yang telah merasakan manfaatnya  akan mengikuti program ini dengan sukarela Waste sadaqah is a form of participatory waste management using a religious approach.  This activity is carried out by the Raudatul Jannah Mosque Management, Yayasan Khairu Ummah Makassar,  regularly. twice a month since March 2021.  Waste sadaqah has provided economic, social and environmental benefits. In addition to reducing the amount of waste transported to the waste landfill site (TPA), the financial profits from the sale of waste had used for social activities. However, this activity still faces problems. The low level of community participation (only about 20%) is the main problem. The aim of this research is to analyze factors that influence the low level of community participation in Waste Sadaqah activities. This research is qualitative-descriptive research. Data collection is carried out using interview, observation and documentation techniques. Based on interviews and observations conducted, most of the people already have good knowledge and attitudes about the importance of environmental cleanliness; but low in term of the 3R (Reduce, Reuse, Recycle) method and the waste sadaqah program. Improvement of facilities and increasing involvement of community leaders in socializing and facilitating the implementation of the waste sadaqah program are two things that need to be done. Efforts to increase the economic, social and environmental benefits of waste sadaqah to the community need to be continued so that people who have felt the benefits will participate in this program voluntarily

The purpose of this training is to equip students with enough knowledge to run a business. The results of the starup training are 15 student business plans, namely 9 business plans in the field of fisheries by MBKM students of the Aquaculture study program, 5 business plans in the field of financial services by MBKM students of the Management study program and 1 business plan for marketing services by Agribusiness study program students. From the training activities, it can be concluded that through starup training, students get enough knowledge to run a business. Starup's knowledge must be immediately implemented and accompanied periodically to the business plan that has been made.

Abstract

Kampoeng Kuliner Makassar (KKM) is one of the MSMEs in the culinary field in Makassar. KKM produces about 25 kg/day of organic waste, mainly fruit and vegetable. This community partnership program is a form of transfer of knowledge and technology fermentation in organic waste treatment, which aims to assist KKM partners in processing fruit and vegetable peel waste into eco-enzyme which is then used as a multipurpose cleaning solution according to KKM needs. This activity consists of a focus discussion group (FGD), counseling, making and harvesting eco enzyme, and its application in the restaurant as a multipurpose cleaning solution. Paired t-test results of participants' pre-test and post-test showed a significant increase (p-value < 0.001) in participants' knowledge about various aspects of eco-enzyme. The participants' skills are improved through independent practice so that all participants can produce good quality eco enzymes. Eco-enzyme has been used as a cleaning and disinfection agent, such as washing agents for food, tableware, and cooking utensils; kitchen and bathroom cleaners at KKM. After this community partnership program, it is hoped that KKM can become a place to promote a healthy lifestyle with minimal waste.

Abstract

The City of Kendari is being targeted for the development of infrastructure and the capacity of motorized vehicles which continues to increase. The construction of the Grand Mangku Bumi Residence has an impact on air pollution. The location of the Grand Mangku Bumi Residence development which is near the main road has resulted in residential conditions that are passed by heavy vehicles experiencing traffic noise that exceeds the quality standard limit of 55 dBA in accordance with noisy criteria according to KEP-48/MENLH/11/1996. This noise causes air pollution around the study site. The purpose of this study is to determine the value of noise non-empirically with a sound level meter due to material transportation activities. The method in this study is quantitative by observing environmental conditions, traffic volume, road geometric, vehicle noise, and vehicle speed. Noise data collection was carried out for 2 months, Monday-Friday representing working days and Saturday-Sunday representing holidays, from 07.00 WITA to 20.00 WITA. Measurements were made every 1 hour for 10 minutes with a Sound Level Meter Model TM-103. Noise mapping is done with the surfer application. The results of the study show that before construction there were 5 survey points that exceeded the quality standards permitted in KEP-48/MENLH/11/1996 and there were 14 points that exceeded the permitted quality standards with an average rate of increase in traffic volume of 46.5 pcu/hour during the construction of the Grand Mangku Bumi Residence. Therefore, the noise level prior to the construction of the Grand Mangku Bumi Residence was lower than during construction.Keywords : Noise Zone; Sound Level Meter; Traffic; Surfer Application.

Abstract

Kebutuhan sabun dan deterjen meningkat sejak Pandemi COVID-19 seiring dengan peningkatan pola hidup bersih dan sehat. Hal ini juga dialami oleh UMKM Kampoeng Kuliner Makassar (KKM) yang menggunakan berbagai produk berbeda untuk membersihkan lantai, dinding, dan peralatan di area dapur dan kamar mandi, sehingga mengakibatkan tingginya biaya produk pembersih dan banyaknya kemasan plastik dari berbagai produk. Oleh karena itu, cairan pembersih serbaguna yang lebih ekonomis dan ramah lingkungan sangat dibutuhkan oleh KKM. Kombinasi Methyl Ethyl Sulfonate (MES) dan Eco Enzyme (EE) memiliki banyak keunggulan karena keduanya ramah lingkungan. MES merupakan surfaktan alami yang berasal dari limbah produksi minyak kelapa/sawit, sedangkan eco enzyme berasal dari proses fermentasi limbah kulit buah yang banyak dihasilkan di KKM. Pelatihan dilakukan dalam bentuk ceramah disertai diskusi interaktif dan praktek pembuatan cairan pembersih secara mandiri. MES-EE yang dihasilkan memiliki profil kualitas yang disukai oleh mitra KKM, terutama daya pembersih yang tinggi, mudah dibilas, dan tidak mengiritasi kulit. Penggunaan MES-EE sebagai cairan pembersih serbaguna dapat mengurangi pengeluaran bahan kimia pembersih hingga 50% di KKM.

Abstract

Fungsi kawasan perkotaan salah satunya adalah sebagai pusat pendidikan. Kota Makassar merupakan salah satu kota dengan jumlah kampus terbanyak di Indonesia. Aktifitas pendidikan secara langsung turut berkontribusi terhadap peningkatan emisi yang berasal dari mobilitas mahasiswa, dosen dan pegawai. Emisi yang dihasilkan menjadi salah satu penyebab pemanasan global sehingga untuk mengurangi laju emisi yang dihasilkan maka diperlukan ruang terbuka hijau. Oleh karena itu, penelitian ini bertujuan mengidentifikasi kemampuan tanaman dalam menyerap emisi Karbon Dioksida di areal kampus. Analisis data yang digunakan adalah melakukan perbandingan jumlah beban emisi Karbon Dioksida yang dihasilkan dengan kemampuan daya serap ruang terbuka hijau. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa kemampuan Ruang Terbuka Hijau (RTH) eksisting Universitas Negeri Makassar kampus Parangtambung dalam menyerap emisi CO2 yang dihasilkan dari semua jenis kendaraan baik kendaraan roda dua (motor) maupun kendaraan roda empat (mobil) di semua zona akses masuk dapat di serap secara keseluruhan oleh vegetasi dimana total emisi CO2 yang dihasilkan adalah 47.822.4 g/jam sedangkan jumlah emisi CO2 yang dapat diserap oleh tanaman adalah 652.855.1 g/jam yang berarti masih terdapat 605.032.7 g/jam emisi CO2 yang mampu diserap sehingga kajian selanjutnya adalah prediksi jumlah emisi yang dihasilkan di tahun mendatang agar rekomendasi pengelolaan dapat dilakukan agar daya serap tanaman tetap mencukupi.Â
