Abstract

AbstractResearch was conducted using a randomized block design (RBD), non-factorial with 10 treatments and 3 replications and tested using Duncant Multiple Range Test (DMRT) to see the effect of extract of bamboo shoots and bean sprouts on the growth of oil palm seedlings in pre nursery with five measurement parameters namely plant height (cm), number of leaves (leaves), leaf area (cm2), seedling dry weight (grams) and seedling fresh weight (grams). In this study differences in the doses used in the treatment level is too low at 0.5 cc / l. So the difference of the data obtained is not significant between all treatment levels. But from the results of the study dose of 1 cc / l in the use of bamboo shoot extract is more effective for high growth, leaf number, leaf area, fresh weight and dry weight of oil palm seedlings, and in the use of effective sprouts extract on the growth of plant height and leaf area. Keywords: palm oil, ZPT, bamboo shoots. bean sprouts.

Abstract

The first aim of this study was to determine the influence of factors of production land , labor , seeds , fertilizers to farmers' income , secondly the feasibility of farming , knowing the third line trading system . Research by census sampling method takes all the existing population . Data were analyzed with the Cobb Douglass function , input output ratio and descriptive . The results showed that simultaneous production factors land , labor , seeds , fertilizer significantly affect earnings at 95% confidence level . Partially land and fertilizer significantly affect earnings , while labor and seedlings did not significantly affect earnings . Value of input output ratio of 4.43 means very viable farming gelugur acid . Marketing channels in the study area there are two channels , the first channel from farmers to traders and merchants to large / agents and to the processor ; channel both from farmers to wholesalers / agents later to processingKeyword : gelugur acid, farming, marketing

Abstract

AbstractNatural herbicides is an effort to improve the competitiveness of the quality and quantity of production. Although the tall grass (Imperata cylindrica L.) is a weed, but this plant can be used as a herbicide to suppress the growth of weed seeds in the soil. The study was conducted to determine the effectiveness of grass root extract in suppressing the growth of weed seeds in the soil. The research was conducted in the home garden experiment pads Faculty of Agriculture, University of North Sumatra Muhammadiyah Jln. Tuar no. Medan District 65 Sand with altitude ± 27 m above sea level and implemented from the month of February 26, 2012 to 23 April 2012. Using a Completely Randomized Design (CRD) factorial with 10 treatments and 3 replicates and tested using Duncant test (DMRT). With the concentration of A0 = 0%, A1 = 15%, A2 = 30%, A3 = 45%, A4 = 60%. In this research found that the degree of concentration of 15% significantly affect the period of germination, mortality, and length of primary roots. In this research found that the degree of concentration of 15% significantly affect the period of germination, mortality, and length of primary roots. In this study differences in the doses used in the treatment level is too low at 15%. So the difference in the data obtained is not significant among all the standard treatments. But the results of research with a concentration of 30% is in treatment in the use of extracts A2G2 alang - alang more effective against the primary root length on weeds and spinach shy daughter of thorns. For mortality, the use of extracts of grass - grass is more effective in the treatment of spinach burr weed. Keywords: Weeds, Herbicides natural alang – alang
