Abstract

The incidence of short toddlers or commonly referred to as stunting is one of the nutritional problems experienced by toddlers in the world and is a major nutritional problem faced by Indonesia. The first 1000 days of life is a golden period to form a healthy child. One way to prevent stunting is to fulfill nutrition and health services for pregnant women, postpartum mothers and breastfeeding mothers. This community service aims to increase the knowledge of pregnant women, postpartum mothers, breastfeeding mothers and mothers of children under five about nutritional needs and the correct method of processing MP-ASI. Implementation of community service using nutrition education methods, demonstrations of making MP-ASI, and health checks. The average post-test results showed that there was an increase in participants' knowledge after the implementation of community service.

Abstract

Introduction Malnutrition is a chronic nutritional problem that is still a big challenge for Indonesia. Stunting is a condition where a child's body fails to grow at the age of five due to chronic malnutrition, which causes the child to be too short or not develop well for his age. There are still many pregnant women and people in rural areas who do not have sufficient knowledge about balanced nutrition and how to apply it in everyday life. Appropriate and sustainable balanced nutrition education is very important to increase the knowledge and skills of pregnant women and the community in implementing a healthy and nutritious diet to prevent and overcome stunting. Methods: Implementation methods for health education activities are lectures, face-to-face and question and answer discussions. Results: In general, Community Service activities are under the responsibility of the PPM (Research and Community Service) unit of the Kendari Ministry of Health Pol-Techkes. The stages of the Independent Health Education activity "Education on the Implementation of Balanced Nutrition Based on Local Food for Pregnant Women and Stunted Toddlers" by the IPE/IPC Team of Lecturers and Students of the Kendari Ministry of Health Polytechnic and the Coastal Community of Waworoni Village, South Konawe Regency . Conclusion After the Health Education activities were completed, there was a change in knowledge regarding the implementation of balanced nutrition in the community.

Abstract

Introduction: Stunting in children is defined as an acute nutritional problem caused by the intake of nutrients that enter the body do not meet the standards for a long time. This condition can occur starting from the child is still in the womb and the effect is only seen when he was 2 years old. Usually children who are stunted get less food intake in accordance with the nutritional intake needed at their age, so that growth becomes less optimal.Objective: the purpose of this review literature is to determine the relationship between feeding patterns and the incidence of stunting. Methods: Literature reviews are conducted based on issues, metologies, equations and research journals. Of the 5 journals used, each used a cross sectional method. Results: based on 5 articles using the cross sectional method and case control parenting feeding sta toddlers stunting does not match the nutritional needs of toddlers. The relationship between feeding patterns and stunting events.If the wrong feeding patterns and inadequate food diversity can cause stunting in toddlers.Conclusion: parenting giving the wrong toddler has the potential to cause stunting
